    Man I just came to your video after seething at the official Cascadeur tutorial. You really have given proper guidelines much better than what's present in the official one. Thank you for sharing the information and helping a fellow artist along. I'm subbing to you just for this forthcoming quality and you most definitely should continue making tutorials as you're really good at explaining the process. Thanks once again!

    Thanks mate!! I'm so glad someone was picking up the job, the Cascadeur channel leaves a lot to be... improved upon. A few more things I picked up after hours of trial and error: In Cascadeur Settings, set the FBX Unit to "auto"; default is "m". This introduces a lot of scaling issues. In Blender's import dialogue, check "automatic bone orientation" - this is how your armature looks intact (mostly). Also don't forget to "apply scale" (CTRL-A -> Scale) before you export from Blender (so you don't have to set it to "1" as shown in the video, thus shrinking the character)
    If you're inclined to do more of these, I'd be happy to find out how to transfer the motion between two Cascadeur characters. So I have my animated Cascadeur character (that demo dude) and my imported character from Blender in the same scene, but i can't figure out how to transfer the animation data...
    In any case, godspeed man.

    • @bexywan5244
      @bexywan5244  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you so much! I’ll remember that for importing/exporting my next character. As far as transferring animations, if they both have the auto posing rig on them, if you open both scenes, select all the bones of each auto posing rig, then copy and paste the poses into the other scene (one at a time) with the same key frames and that should work. Tell me how it goes and have a great day!

    FINALLY! I wanted to do a little animation for a music video (I'm currently writing/making a song and I wanted to publish it with an animation) and for that animation I wanted to use a vroid model (my vroid model -> gonna bring out my first video on the channel RIn Melody very soon...hopefully..) but I have a bad pc which can't handle that many bones (blender sucks), which is why I now use Cascadeur for the character animations so that my pc won't shut down every 2 min XD. I think I'll make the other things either in blender or in Maya (the backgrounds, Fxs like clothing animation and wind animation, and other models like I wanna have a piano animation in it too).
    Thanks for this guide, I made my very first test animation today (I really had problems rigging the vroid model in blender-> It took me 2 f*cking without even a end-result :( ) but Cascadeur makes it just as easy as stealing a lolipop from a baby XD

    I have a doubt. I have made a rig in blender using autorig pro, so it comes with controllers, so in order to export should I export the rig with deform bones or with both deform and controller bones, or just controller bones?

    • @bexywan5244
      @bexywan5244  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You would need to export only the deform bones, but it would be quite advanced to keep the controllers active after the export, this deserves its own video, which I will make soon, but for now, just the deform bones.

    Hi I’m wondering if you know what’s going on with a problem th-cam.com/users/shorts3QH9BeexjJ0?feature=share im having in cascadeur. I imported a character and applied a motion cap to that character from iclone 8. When I go to the middle of the animation and add key frames so I can edit my character wave hello while still continuing the motion captured walk, the character reverts to a weird squatted A pose. Maybe it has to do with a setting when I export out of I clone8? I do think it has something to do with bones and maybe the blue icon on the grid floor shown in the link I provided . Center of mass maybe? Here is a video link to show. Anyone know what’s going on?

    • @bexywan5244
      @bexywan5244  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it is because none of the other bones are locked, to lock a bone, select it and press L or shift Z, do this to all of the major bones: pelvis, hands, (feet are already locked) and head. Then your character’s arm should move as normal.

    Why is the Blender export/import with Cascadeur relevant in terms of game development? I can imagine it makes sense if I wanna render an animation in Blender. But for instance if I wanna export the character to unity - can't I simply use what cascadeur exports directly there? Or does it need to be export out of Blender for reasons?

    • @bexywan5244
      @bexywan5244  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can just export to unity for a simple character, but I export to blender because I need to animate some other things that you can’t do or can’t do better in Cascadeur. For example, the appendages on Lucario’s head need to be animated, same with his tail, and facial expressions need to be added as well. But like I said, if you don’t have any of those things and just need the animation data, it’s totally fine to just export to unity.
