The channel of the Hornby Island Arts Council.
The Hornby Island Arts Council was established in December 1998 and is in a period of profound transition. Having moved between insecure and inadequate spaces for two decades, we stand prepared to establish an Arts Centre.
Hornby has an outsized reputation in the arts and may have the highest per-capita density of artists in all of Canada.
Hornby Arts’ goal, like most charitable non-profits, is to improve quality of life. Our constitution mandates that this is accomplished by: increasing and broadening opportunities to appreciate, enjoy and participate in artistic and cultural activities through events and workshops, improving the standards of artistic expression in our community, and establishing an Arts Centre where diverse forms of creative expression can be supported.

Though he doesn’t label himself an artist, Graham sees himself as a maker, where creative practice-regardless of the medium-is an act of expanding time and embracing meticulous craftsmanship. He reflects on the joys and romance of his daily life, the privilege of connecting with his community through art, and the intuitive, laser-sharp focus he brings to his work. Overflowing with heartfelt wisdom, this episode paints a portrait of pursuing one’s passions and living life to its fullest.

Art Of Gardening: A Painter's Garden With Anne Ngan
We all slow down and relax. Nothing wrong with that, just beautiful!
What a beautiful way of see the world. Amazing.
Saw thumbnain, clicked, wonderful work. You are very correct, just keep doing it. The more you use your imagination, the better and easier it gets.

She is my Soul Sister. Creatively making has saved my life from depression and heals me from my loss.
P.s. beautiful Bok Choy!
I love your work, your attitude and your history (the church stuff resonates for sure….) so many things you’ve said are amazingly exactly where I stand on life. Glad I found this channel. Thanks!
All videos with Anne Ngan are so enjoyable, I am so truly very GRATEFUL to all the crew that made these videos, God bless ❤
Love this!!🥰
A sensitive and light-filled soul. Love that giant rabbit.
Much love to her.
I enjoy these stories about the spirits and art of the people living on Hornby Island… each story tells something about each individual artist… through their colors, forms and expressions. It’s wonderful to see… thank you !
old Chinese proverb. 'House finished, Man dead.' thanks for telling your story! All the best. watching from my studio.
As I work in my shop making art I loved your commentary!! It really resonated. Thank you.
how can you not Love Zsofin!
Totally get what he's saying. ❤
i LOVE THIS MAN!!!!!!
A couple of weeks ago I received 4 art pieces (poster). They are wonderful. Excellent quality. Thankyou 🎉❤🎶🌈✌🏽
Yes ! Make your own way wherever you are is very good advice. ❤
Such a legend
Never encountered an artist is says exactly how I am and my experience ... very interesting.
“But it’s compost”, most eloquent description of how important it is to create even when you don’t feel it. Thank you for the reminder that even what isn’t working is feeding my next work.
At 12:48 now we get the super moment of you with the perfect dog. I love this moment. Woman with dog. Vali Meyer has moments like this too with her fox❤️💗🩷I really love this very much. Thank you 💎
A very interesting lady.
awesome. Thank you!
I identify with you, totally, as a fulltime, hobby photographer and painter. Time melts away when I observe and then paint. My happy place..
I found to be most real and honest about herself and art. Bravo! As an artist myself, I feel the struggles too.
Great video 😊
She is so beautiful.....her thoughts,her work,her life.
🌹What a beautiful women🌹 Love this video🌹
❤❤❤❤
Oh Rochelle I could sit and listen to you and watch you all day. You bought such peace and tranquillity to that 13 mins and 36 seconds. I wonder do you let your shavings dry and use them for something else, does someone else use them or do you wet them down and mush them up.. waste not want not.. thank you for a beautiful video I love your work. I also love (well cant do it now but did) going to the beach and taking macro shots of rockpools etc.. that's a whole new avenue of photography right there.. you should look at bring those purples/burgundies of the seaweed into your work, the translucent porcelain with tinges of burgundy would be superb.. thank you from Western Australia..so far away from Hornby!
Thank goodness for places like Hornby Island
What I don't understand is if there were no building restrictions and rules about building your own home back in the day why did the authorities burn it down.? I love that bohemian lifestyle. That's the trouble with this day and age authorities who think they are important and their red tape!!! Red tape and bureaucracy are why there are so many homeless people in the world today. Long live people like Tom Burrows and all of the artists on Hornby!! and thank you to the presenters of these amazing videos.
BEAUTIFUL! LOVELY! PERFECT! WONDERFUL! thank you Graham & Gloria...
Inspiring and incredibly moving ❤
Your art is so beautiful thank you for the inspiring words❤
Best art documentary yet! 🤗
This was such a disappointment to watch. This was not about an artist and not one of her works was shown. All this person did was cuss and complain about the Catholic Church. As a Catholic and an artist, I thank God for my gift. She didn't have anything favorable to say about being an artist. She and the person who put this "crap" together did a real disservice to the many good women artists out there who relish in their artistic creations. What a waste of my time. 😡
Qu'elle belle personne, une belle âme, qui inspire les gens, i love it
@11:43
What a happy lady, obviously gardening makes her happy. I wonder if she also paints? I think I have seen her Mum in another video.. thank you for sharing your garden. Your poppies are amazing and how gorgeously delicate was Amazing Grace..so transparent like dragonfly wings.. fairy wings...
Catholics are great at negative self talk
I can see God our Lord in your work, creativity and for example in your wisdom how you see, and use time ❤️ We are creative after Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. He gives us wisdom, love, and beauty. Your paintings, and boats are so beautiful, and if you really can't see colours properly you would be so happy to see your art how we can see it. Colours in your paintings are clean, pure, very bright, and intense, and they go beautifully together. Praise the Lord, and may He bless you all abundantly 🙏❤️
Just found this channel and I’m pretty excited. Thank for the type of content you upload.
hmm- hughes ,duncan artist ,re- incarnated on Hornby ????
"Being focused on details in one thing leads to being focused on details in everything" a blessing and a curse. ☯ AWESOME VID!
As an artist, I LOVE his paintings. Yes, more of this, please!
Amazing work, and not only is her pottery beautiful but I liked the photos of the seaweed. I’ve always felt that nature is the best artist… wether it’s sand patterns left by the waves or autumn leaves or the colors in the sky before a sunset… nature does her best work… without even trying…!
This guy has it figured out, very inspiring and what a talented man he is.
