มุมมอง 6K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Finally got the chance to take out the Mamiya RB67 Pro-S loaded with a roll of Portra 400. Hope you enjoy hearing about my first experience shooting with this camera! This video took me a while to finish because my film lab had an issue with their c-41 machine and it took a full two weeks for me to get this roll back. But nevertheless I got the film back and the images look GREAT! Thanks for yo...

First 120 roll of Portra 800 through my Pentax 67ii
มุมมอง 8K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Kodak Portra 800...don't think I'll ever get tired of this film! If I had to choose one camera and color negative film for the rest of my life, I think this would be the perfect pairing. Unfortunately after exporting the video file I noticed that the images lost contrast especially in the shadows. Not sure why but, they did haha Check my instagram for more accurate (but smaller) edits. Neverthe...

This was my first roll of Kodak Portra 800 and it absolutely blew me away. I love this film already! So much so, that I already ordered more rolls in 35mm and 120 format. I would love to compare Portra 160, 400, and 800 head to head and I plan on doing so in the near future...so be on the lookout for a video on that soon. This is my first experience shooting HP5 in 35mm, and (spoiler alert) I was blown away with the results! I'm really starting to love this film and I think its going to become my new "Go-To" B&W film for 35mm. I'll be shooting a roll of TMAX & Tri-X 400 asap and I'll compare my results from those films to these images and see which I prefer. What's your favorite B&W film to shoot? And why? Camer...

Mamiya 7ii Overview:Review Film Focused
This review makes me appreciate the rb67. I hate range finders
We’ll done. Any TTL flash for this camera?
Very sharp, nice contrasts, great photos. I like that it has the zone focus. I almost bought an EE-2, but luckily I noticed it does not have manual focus and I can see more EE-series’ photos are not so sharp.
Watching in 2024 what the hell are those prices
... baby brother of the F6... not the battery soaking, ultra heavy F5. Own one since many years. Thanks for yr video. Own the grip too. Always use Lithium batteries: Sooooo much lighter 😂. Metering is perfect. Used it in bad weather in SE Asia with weather sealed lenses. Great cam. Autofocus points: You're absolute right! Who needs 60 autofokus points? NONE!
Great video. I love mine as well.
were you shooting on matrix metering?
2:32,did you develop in box speed?
Great video! I have the older Olympus Pen ee, still enjoy using it, currently loaded up with kodak gold 200.
that shot through the diner was gorgeous! perfect balance between grain and detail
People compare Kodak TrI-X to Ilford HP5 Plus quite often, perhaps because they are rated @ iso 400 on the box. The fact is that these films are quite different to each other. You correctly mentioned the incredible lattitude of the HP5. Hp5 also has much better shadow detail retention that Tri-X, where Tri-X excels in mid tone and highlight separation. This is not surprising as Tri-X is inherently a higher contrast emulsion than HP5. Also, due to its lower contrast HP5 does better when pushed, particularly with a tuned stand development routine. I love them both. Horses for courses as they say.
Not only do I shoot medium format SLR and medium format rangefinder cameras, I also shoot medium format TLR and medium format folding cameras.
Love these prices!…I’m buying Portra 400 all day everyday at $7.50 a roll!!!!
When you cock the lever on the side of the camera, you are not cocking a shutter in the camera. The shutter on all the lenses is in the lens and are leaf shutters giving you flash sync at any shutter speed right up to max shutter speed of 1/400. In the camera body, you are cocking the mirror. I have watched youtubers complain about the weight of the camera saying it is not suitable outside the studio and had to be carried in a back pack then put on a tripod. Bullshit. I had been using a black rapid strap for my mamiya 645 pro tl that with 150 mm lens and motor drive weighs 5 lbs and this camera only 1 more at 6 lbs. There is no place to attach the BR safety strap so decided to try wearing the op tech camera strap cross body. No way I can hang his camera around my neck for more than a few minutes and not much longer over a shoulder. but cross body, either resting on my hip lightly supported or pressed against the hip, I have done several 3 or 4 hours walk abouts. When you swing it into position to shoot, the pressure around your back relieves some of the weigh, unlike around your neck where you support the entire 6 lbs. Another lens, back and film in a small bag over the other shoulder. I advance the film after each shot, not cock the shutter if not immediately taking a shot. That way, first, I can't accidentally fire a shot and second, know the mirror isn't cocked because can't see out the lens. I have learned that now that I can carry this camera longer, I have to bring at least 2 rolls of each film stock I have loaded in the 2 backs because, unlike a 35 mm with 36 shots, I only have 10.
What? A single Kodak gold 200/135-36 costs around 12 dollars when converted from our currency. Now I feel like I am being robbed.
Thank Christ, an American.
Can it do up to 36 exposures?
found this camera in a flea market in a rather mint condition and the guy sold to me for 5 buck 😂 because he said the camera is untested. back home put in a couple of AAA batteries and voila, it stilll works! gonna try the fomapan 400 and see how it goes 👍 thank you for the video and stunning shots you got there.
If only I could go back and bulk buy at those prices. Paid £28 ($35.60) for two rolls of Color Plus today.
Hard to believe film was that cheap just a few years ago 🤣
Thanks so much for your PRECIOUS information. I'm an amateur photographer (I love reality and I love to capture beauty and bring it home so as to be able to rewatched it and enjoy unique, past moments taken with my analogue reflex cameras, Canon, Olympus and Fujica. I'll keep watching your videos. I also hope traditional films, 100, 200,400, kodak, fuji, and excellent Portra will continue to be sold. Any advice of yours will be greatly appreciated for your professionality and dedication to the art of photography.
Do you think a Mamiya RZ67 could be carried relatively comfortably with that? Thanks
Why do people who review this camera always talk about 'the problems' yet rarely have they actually experienced them. Humans are dumb animals.
These are great!
One thing that screws me up with my rangefinder is, if I forget to take the lens cap off you can still see to focus and take a photo. You don't find out your missed shot until later when you develop the film. Where with an SLR you can't see your subject if the lens cap is on and therefore you avoid the costly and disappointing missed shot.
This was very inciteful. I just found your channel today and watched most of your videos. Where did you go? Come back I want more!
This is excellent-thank you for creating and posting it. I use an old Nikon Coolscan 4000ed for 35mm negatives with VueScan software with mostly good results. I think I’ll try the Epson V850 for medium format negatives. Thanks again!
Great video! I just got this camera, and this was very informative!
I hit the shudder button one time and I think the camera accidentally rewound itself after i had already taken several pictures. I'm using a roll of Portra 400 35mm film I just bought yesterday. Will the images still come out good once developed?
The F100 does VR! So do the F5 and F6. Those are the only 3 Nikon film bodies which do VR.
I acquired an L35AF about 8 years ago. The seller took a lot of time shipping it. He must've realized it was very cheap. And it was: in today's money it cost me about USD7.00. I haven't shot with it yet and it is in my former hometown. I'm happy to know how good it is. This video is straightforward and taught me evertyhing I needed to know about this camera. Thanks a lo!
Damn, good times when film was under $10
Very good review. I have this camera but have used my other SLRs over the past 2 years and want to get back to my 6 by 7 ii. Thank you. RS. Canada
Very nice. Thanks
How can you cancel the flash in dark places?
Put one finger in the flash,, keep press when you take the photo and will not display.
A very nice review man ! I own an Olympus Trip but intend to search for one of their half frame cameras. Your photo compositions are quite well taken. Keep on doing this. Belgian greetings.
this little camera looks and sounds amazing! I'm just curious but what is the filter size for it? it could be fun to shoot with a red filter i guess :) thanks!!!
Makes me want to ditch all this digital stuff and get back to some REAL imagining, that requires skills..
Nothing for 3 yrs?
good review. thank you for your video.
Crying out loud seeing these film prices in 2022....
Hey what lens cover is that?
Solid video. Thank you.
A loss of sharpness IS a negative result.
Hey !! Thanks for that super helpful video ! Just had a question about the flash and how to use it… did you ever used a flash on it and if yes, how do you do ?? Thanks and keep going ! <3
Great video and nice pics. I usually rate it at 800 but this has inspired me to try 1600asa. Wonder if 3200 is feasible? 👍🏻
Thank you!
We will never see these prices ever again
Dude how did you get behind that table? Great video, thanks
