A truly atrocious recording of the Astro Mu 5 stand alone VHS. Potentially still entertaining?!

The Top 8 Best Cyberpunk Anime Openings [HQ]
This is a personal list of my favourite cyberpunk anime openings. A few aren't strictly cyberpunk but they've all got that urban dystopic tech crime feel. Honourable mentions go to: Gunslinger Girl (2003), Galvion (1984), Gunsmith Cats (1995), Cyber City Oedo 808 (1990) and many more. Originally a Top 10 but 2 were blocked.

Battersea Dog Home.😊
Barking mad😅 so true. Ruff😅
th-cam.com/video/x9gjBxDTAIk/w-d-xo.html
One of these things is not like the others, one of those things.... technically beloooongs---
Macross sure had impressive CGI for 1982. 😉
Does anyone out there know where I can watch this?
❤❤❤Orguss!! Where are you going, when are you coming home?!? (Best lyrics!!!)
The Top 10 Best 1980's Mecha Anime Openings: 10.Metal Armor Dragonar (1987) 9.Hyper Combat Unit Dangaioh (1987) 8.Aura Battler Dunbine (1984) 7.Aim For the Top (1988) 6.Heavy Metal L-Gaim (1984) 5.Patlabor on Television (1989) 4.Super Dimensional Cavalry Southern Cross (1984) 3.Armored Trooper VOTOMS (1983) 2.Dancouga Super Beast Machine God (1985) 1.Super Dimensional Fortress Macross (1982)
VOTOMs has such great music in general.
Fitting that you saved the best for last. I've never heard of the others featured here, but Macross is one of my favorites!
Can you please re rip this tape. Here's some suggestions on rendering it for youtube. Deinterlacing should be yadif bob and the FPS is 59.94 at constant framerate. Select allow upscaling

This guy should had put Super Dimension Century Orguss which in my opinion is one of the best anime's to made in the eighties.
Mi-ku-ro-mannnnnnŊ Dia-klonnnn
Tuat Macross opening is from a game right??? Loos really neat.
because there are two videos of the same top mecha song from the 80s?
I'm confused as to who copied who, if at all, Aura Battler Dunbine or Heavy Metal L-Gaim, who had the fairy first?
Strange...
A while ago an advert popped into my head and I thought it might be Dulux paint but I think it's this. Either way I remember the music. I'm assuming the Barking Light Orchastra was just a punny fake name for whoever performed on this. I imagine the PRS or someone has a record of the performers should anyone want to look
@zoidstar wrong aspect ratio/crop of video in 16:9 for a bunch of them, disappointing 😔 they all come from 80's, when shows or oav were most in 4:3 format
Hits different.
So 80s Japan. Love it. (Audio recorded a bit "low" though).
i am trying to find an old mecha anime i have completely forgotten it's name but want to watch it again In this anime the main character and his childhood friend are transported to a parallel world similar to their in this world all the people of the previous world also exist all except for the MC and also there are mechs in this world that can only be piloted by women however the MC who is a boy can use them and it was later found out that the MC actually does exist in this world but is actually in the form of the mech that he is piloting if this premise feels similar to any anime you have watched pls reply i really want to watch it again
In that era, the anime were cheaper - way cheaper - and animators earned a lot more compared to these days. They also had strained budget and didn't have much space for detail but they tried their best. Today, things are practically animated by themselves and we have a HUGE lack of quality with most animes whenever it depends on an animator. The budget is not tight, animators are cheap as there are lots of them. But, by the heavens, animation studios make solid gold and their investment is none to nil.
I suspect it's because it was done by hand. It already had computers but as an aid. Not the main tool.
Kinda sad Orguss didn't make the Top Ten.

Mospeada must be in...
Bubblegum Crisis must be there too...
on sale?
I love that these isolated jingles are available on the transformers laserdisc CDs
Really? Interesting. :)
Any chance of uploading those if you have ‘em

Before Eacaflowne (another gorgeous mech anime but from the 90’s) there was aural battler dumbine. 80’s mecha are more “mechanically achievable” as James Cameron once put it while he was working on Aliens and the power loader
👍
Can't believe this guy didn't get his own show.
I’m surprised there was no ZOIDS anime in the 80s(although I don’t know if there were any Liger Zoids in the 80s)
thanks for posting this classic, long overdue for youtube
I know that Some people think that the Original Transformers Generation 1: Cartoon from the 1980's Is Not real Japanese Mecha Anime. There are Some people who think that the Transformers Generation 1 Cartoon Is real Japanese Anime. But Technically, that Is NOT true ! The Transformers Genertion 1 Cartoon Is an American Creation / Production. The Transformers Generation 1: Toys are from Japan But the G1 Cartoon and G1 Characters were created In America. The Story of The Transformers was created In America.
There were a few sequel animes for G1 after season 3, like Transformers Victory.
Guyver had a nice opening. Although not mecha.
Gunbuster was the most memorable
