Solid gel and sip powder - yes please! Love your channel!
It’s in the list! 😍
😂😂😂 ive been calling it glam drip up until right now when you mentioned it in your video 😂😂😂😂
You’re not alone 😂
I used the brush end of the dual applicator for the classic and it was perfect first go.
I’m glad you had success with the system 😍
O my gosh! Thank you Hayley! 😍 I actually bought Sassy Saints bc of you and I did not regret it. Sadly, I have to look into alternatives as they no longer ship to my country 🥲 I was wondering have you tried using sassy saints powder with lavender violets liquid? Sorry if I missed that or something.. I was also doing my nails while listening 😅😅 I just consumed my base it and had to be creative with using my top it
Yes! You can mix any powders with any liquids 😍 Have you heard of Glowdip? They are based in the Netherlands and ship internationally I believe. Deffo worth a try ULTIMATE BEGINNERS Tutorial for Dip Powder Nails | GLOWDIP Kit REVIEW th-cam.com/video/EePZWoQsHC8/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for the video. Do you think it is better than sassy sains? Do you think the success greatly depends on the liquids or the powders ( I don’t talk about the technique) as you have such an array of products. Do you use every products with their own liquid or you reach for your ‘best one’? If yes what would be it? Thank you
it's coming up to a year since ive been using dipping powders, i dont know everything yet lol... but what i have learnt is uncontaminated liquids and technique are the 2 most important things. Powders are just the colour (some apply a bit nicer if they are finer but its the liquids that make most difference). If you pinned me down to my favourite big brand, right now i would have to say Glowdip. Before Glowdip my fave liquids were from Dipped UK, but as they are a small brand not everything is in stock all the time - not their fault just the reality of being a small brand. I love the powders from GlamrDip and Sassy Saints but Glamrdip liquids always contaminate for me especially the 'activate', and although the SS liquid works for me i don't like the shape of the bottle and the brush regularly gets stuck in the lid - this might be a manufacturing problem....they also seem to take ages to get delivered.... that being said, i have only used the GLowdip kit once, so time will tell if they remain my favourite brand lol What i can say for sure is that the top coat is super glossy, even after 2 weeks and feels really strong - plus getting 6 powders in the starter kit is really good.
Are you stil using it?
Yes very much! I use a mix of brands now but the dip powder system is great 👍
@@hayley-DNAthank you, do you have an updated review with hints and tips that you've developed since starting? I'd love to see one, even with a mix of other powders not just glamrdip ones. I am just debating the glamrdip brand :)
@@allyjane6900 the video i made that came out yesterday is a total back to basics tutorial with all my little tricks in that ive learned. Its using a brand called Glowdip that arnt really present in the UK yet, theyre based in the Netherlands but i'm loving what im seeing from them. You can of course use the tutorial with any brand - all dip powder is the same and you can mix and match powders and liquids. th-cam.com/video/EePZWoQsHC8/w-d-xo.html
Hi Hayley. You never mentioned if you would recommend the kit and how you found it . Was it ok and worth the money? 😊
Oh I loved it 😂 my bad for not expressing that enough! The liquids are great and the top coat is SO shiny. I’ve still got it on now, just coming up to 2 weeks. I’ll be filming the removal and will talk more about it - no chips and still looks fab 😍
Hayley how would you say the smell compares to others? I find glamrdip way too strong is this one any better did you notice? Another great video can't wait ti hear your review but sounding great from what you've said x
Omg they have the most beautiful glitters and your glitter one looked fab I literally have an 8 glitter bundle going on lol but not sure what to do about liquids x
I didn’t notice any smell while doing my nails…. When I left the room and came back in I could smell it, so it is there but it didn’t seem to bother me.
I’ve not got much of Glowdips powder collection yet but they do seem to have a lovely balance of the pretty shiny ones and the more neutral tones. I feel a bit like they are a cross between Sassy saints and Glamrdip but with better liquids 😂
Never write comments but I have found your videos to be super helpful and close. I feel like I´m getting advice from a good friend. Thanks a lot! I bought the sassy saints and was so nervous because I had never done my own nails and your tutorial gave me confidence and peace. They turned out amazing! I´m back now to learn how to remove them and I have the same feeling. Keep up with the good work!!
Aww what a lovely thing to say ☺️ thankyou.
I’ve used nocis and found the same, wasn’t that keen on the liquids either. I’ve got quite a few colours but haven’t tried them all. Good thing with this brand I found was that you could order the colours without the liquids although they are normally in sets of 6 x
Those sets of 6 colours (that I’m sure we’ve talked about before 😂) have always been really good. The pastels, the brights, a green set I got…. Lovely powders. Liquids are poop tho 😂
I bought it and when i was reading through the instructions, I found them confusing. So, I started watching reviews on here and TikTok. Its been overwhelmingly negative. Its gone right back in the box without trying it and I'm sending it back. Wish I'd done more research before ordering.
we're all suckers for a good advert 😭
@@hayley-DNAabsolutely. It looked so easy, but it’s red flags everywhere. Been watching your dip powder content and I think that may be a better way to go for me. Thanks for your reviews, it’s really helped.
@@ripleyfletcher4178 since I’ve got into nails more this past year, Sistaco actually just looks like chroming powder for gel. A very expensive chroming powder at that! Unless I’m missing something it seems like they’ve just renamed something already in the ‘nail art’ world. 🤷🏻♀️
Ha😂 your dog seems like ours and the blah feelings are normal so don’t be too harsh on yourself. So glad sassy saints gifted you somethings. The pigeon issue is 😂hilarious and I get it we have solar panels too.

i will probably do a proper update in spring, as it will have been a year since i started my channel 😻 tbh i got bored of making content about weight loss, i didnt take a magic pill, i had therapy to find out why i was overeating in the first place - bit boring but it worked lol
❤ This is so true and really struck a chord with me . The honesty of this made me feel better 💐 so thanks 🙏 truly. Best wishes!
You are so welcome!

aww thats very kind ☺️
I love your content honest quick and to the point no nonsense! Go Halley 🥳🎉
Glad you enjoyed the video 🥰
I am new to the powder dips. Done two sets of nails so far, 1 went fine then I tried glitter....found it so hard to get it even with the top coat
Glitter can be a funny one 🤔 it can be good to use as a beginner because it doesn’t always have to be as neat, but it can be harder to remove. With glitter you want to add a layer of clear dipping powder on top, this makes it more even and the top coat sits nicer on it.
@@hayley-DNA oh god don't tell me that I haven't removed them yet 🤣
@@donnajones2468 sorryyyyyyyyyyyyyy lol..... you will be fine, it can sometimes just take a little longer to remove 😻
Dear hayley, i love the idea doing my owen nails but IT is a disaster, i did gel to start With , took 6 month to grow off to ‘ healthy nail’ du ring these Time i used every magic opi nail envy vitamin this and that. I watching you for month and thought I start with a cheaper powder set as o n gels I spent over £250 thing one is better than the other, so I bought a cheap one, from SAVIland beautiful powder , top coat is 2:1 base coat too - but bloody hell it is superglue! My fingers glued together, my nails ruined ( only… 5 on one hand) I am thinking to buy another cheaper liquid set as o- or should I just go for the expensive sassy saint? I watched 1000s videos, used to teach art so understand pressure, markmaking etc . I might be mean not to go first for the best you can afford! Just wondering would you recommend any liquid sets only ( no powder) for a beginner as you have such an extensive collection of powders or you still buy sassy saints liquids with other powders ? Thank you
Lavender violets liquids are great, they’re cheap and good to use. Never had a bad experience with them. My 2 favourite top coats are from Glowdip and Dipped Uk, they are more glossy…. But if you’re just trying to get a decent affordable set, get lavender violets. I would still always recommend total beginners get a more expensive brand starter kit but that is mainly for the good level of customer service they will provide for you.
Thank you
Wish I too had seen this first, could not get a smooth result, can get a clumpy result REALLY easily and on my fingers too. My first dip into this market and too disappointing
Don’t give up 🤗 there’s some really good brands out there and I love doing my nails now 😍
I've been doing my own nails for 8 years. The fact they say easiest..not. 100% on the powder not coming off the skin. I've done 4 trials. I've used each type following the instructions sent. I am not impressed. The rapid remover hasn't worked at all...and I have to either soak em in acetone, and pro file em off. I've been able to come up with some pretty neat designs, but I haven't been able to get them to last longer than 4 days. I love the colors, but I am in the same boat. Not for me..
Thanks for sharing!!
Love this helped me thanks
🥰
Ive just used my kit this morning i can completely agree with you its a pile of crap. But am i being dumb and do you just apply one coat of powder to the nail because other brands you apply 2 etc the tutorial only shows 1 appication and the colour is non existent! So disappointing! Wish i could attach a picture.
Lack of instructions is part of the problem 🙁 if you follow any other application method the liquids and powders will work, it’s the kit that’s rubbish sadly. It’s not you, it’s them 🤗
So can you only use those base colour dips underneath? Can you use any other dip colours you have as your base? Does the chrome chip easily? I've used another method before (non uv top) and it chipped the next day 😢
According to SS you can only use the base powders in the chrome kit. I’ve not tested using normal powders yet but it’s on my to do list 😂 It lasts really well and doesn’t chip, in that respect it works just like their normal kit 👍
Thanks for your demo and review. I think I'll stick to my press-on nails for now.
Glad you enjoyed the video 😍
I’m loving watching this just now! I love that you’re just ‘you’ and honestly, you are really down to earth and funny! Thanks for all the tips! I’m waiting for my Sassy Saints order to come and am just doing some ‘homework’ before they come! Keep doing what you’re doing. It’s so refreshing to find videos that are ‘real’ and helpful! I can relate to you so much … 40+, Wife, Mum, busy … yet wanting to take a bit more care of myself! Thanks again! One quick question … where did you get your finger rest from? ☺
I had to watch the video back to know what you were talking about 🤣 It’s actually a magnetic stand for when your painting full length tips 🥰 I don’t bother with it anymore, I find it easier to just rest on the mat and use the pressure to pull back the skin if that makes sense. Glad you enjoyed the video… just be warned… this is an addictive hobby 😂 I own more colours than I could probably wear in a lifetime 🫠
I just watched your 1st nail dipping video ! Then ffwd to this and look at all your stuff. Wow. You've come so far and become an expert. I'm just growing out a ridge across each nail from my last (EVER) shop acrylic set 👎🏻 Thanks for your videos. Very inspiring. I'll go with Sassy Saints by the look of it 😊👌🏻 Binge watching your colours on NY Day is perfect 😊
Awesome! Be warned…. It’s an addictive hobby 🤣
..just forgot the important step of sealing the free edge of the nail... 😌
Very true!! 🥰 this video is a bit old now and I have learnt so much, my nails have never been so long 💅🏻 and pretty!
Brilliant video, thank you ❤
Glad you enjoyed it 😍
When using full tips could you design them first all using your dominant hand and then glue them on? I do love these they are super cute and remind me of my summer hols x
Yes! The only problem with using dip powder on full length tips and gluing them on, is the acrylic can shrink when it dries so you might have to size up on the tips 💅🏻🤩
@hayley-DNA oh OK I think it will take ALOT of practice for me to be able to do any design on my right hand then lol 😆 x
You can start a lot more simply 😍 most designs are just made up of smaller shapes… that’s another video I should do 😂
@hayley-DNA haha I'm here for all the videos lol I can't wait to see if mixing the sistaco works well. What kind of ratio do you think I should try? Xx
@ when I’m mixing dip powders with clear, or mica powder with clear, I always need way more clear than I think I do 😂 the sistaco powders are essentially chromes so… I really don’t know tbh. Sounds like a fun experiment though.
Hi, quick question which brand would you recommend for a first time dip powder user, the Glamrdip or Sassy Saints 🤔 I just can’t decide which one to go for 😂 thanks in advance
Honestly….. check which brand has a good offer on (I’ve got a code for both brands to get you £10 off SS and 10% off GD)… see which colours you like the best. They are basically both the same, SS is normally a bit cheaper. I prefer the application method in the SS instructions, GD tells you to do an apex method which I personally don’t like but some ppl love. Even if you get the GD and don’t like the apex method you can apply it the SS method if you want.
i cant wait to use my glamdip
I wish I had found out about dip powder sooner!!!
@hayley-DNA I'm just glad to start my nail journey off with such great advice
Wow your discount allows for the ultimate kit for only £68 today!! Think I might just have to get this one. I love the Pastel colours 😍
I love me some pastels 🩷 I changed out my Xmas mani twice and ended up with pastels and snowflake stickers 😂
@hayley-DNA ohh I bet they looked amazing. I can't wait for my kit to arrive and give it a try x
@@hayley-DNA hi hun been having a think about all the waste I'm going to have with the sistaco colours I have n got thinking do you think I could mix the colour with clear dipping powder? 🤔 so I could still make use of them. I need to order a clear as when I ordered my glamrdip kut I didn't think to add it! Xx
@ yes and yes! You can mix anything with clear dip powder, mica powder, glitters… I still have my sistaco powders and hadn’t actually thought of trying that!! 🤩 Don’t buy clear from a big company, just get it off amazon, loads cheaper. I got a saviland one that was good, I have also bought a big tub off SHEIN which is fab, it’s a bit finer than other clears I’ve used but works the same.
@hayley-DNA love this, if you try it please let me know how you get on. I will order me some clear and not so patiently await my kit lol 😆 would love to be able to make use of my powder I have so really happy this could/should work thank you so much x
Love all the nail content 😍 which is your favourite brand dip powder? Xx
Toughie 😂 I mostly wear dipped uk, but sassy saints has some really solid gorgeous colours that I love. I’ve just ordered a starter kit from a company called Glowdip, it looks lovely, should be making a video about that in the new year 🤩
@hayley-DNA ohh thanks for your reply I'm on the fence with sassy from reviews I've seen, but love the colours n price of dipped uk, do they last a week or so? What I'm using atm doesn't last more than a day without chips. I'll look forward to the glamourdip review x
@@christinethompson2808 I get 2-3 weeks from my manis, although I get bored after a week and sometimes change them up 😂 I’ve got dipped uk powder and liquid on now, and it’s been 13 days, no chips or cracks. I’m quite hard on my hands, but learning how to cap properly and keeping your liquids uncontaminated will make any brand work better. Because dipped uk is a small uk company, not everything is in stock all the time. I would still always tell a beginner to go with a bigger company to start with, probably SS cos they are a bit cheaper.
@hayley-DNA thank you for your advice I will have a look to see what deals are to be had lol altho looking on dipped uk early they seemed to have all the liquids in stock and some colours I like. The tools you use in your videos I have from doing previous nails and when I used to do acrylics x
@@christinethompson2808awesome 🎉 let us know how you get on! We have discord group if you want to share pictures and chat 🎉
Hayley can I ask how long the glamourdip lasts you. I've been looking into the sassy nails n glamourdip n interested to which you've found best xx
Since Ive got better at application they basically last the same tbh. In general ppl complain more about SS liquids, they could potentially be more sensitive to contamination, but I’ve not noticed a difference. The GD top coat always seems to take longer to dry but it is glossier than SS. I would look at their colours, and see what you like more and go for it. ATM I prefer dipped UK liquids and I use all sorts of different brands of colours 😂 For someone starting out new I would always recommend a starter kit though. SS is a bit cheaper and if you keep an eye out they do a deal with 6 powders sometimes.
@hayley-DNA oh thank you for your reply. So I'm used to doing gel nails but don't always like the look of my right hand lol n thinking the powder might be easier to get full colour coverage. I've tried sistaco similar system but still uses led lamp but they don't last long without chips on the tips xx
@@christinethompson2808 biggest difference between gel (including sistaco) and dip, is dip powder is acrylic; it’s much harder and longer lasting, and gives you that ‘clickety clack’ sound when you tap them. I like playing with gels and I’ve just bought some in pallet form, but you can’t beat acrylics imo 😍💅🏻
@hayley-DNA I think this is what I miss too. I love the strength and longevity of the acrylics and that sounds it makes lol. I think I defo need to give the dips a try and loving the look of the dipping uk colours. Thank you for sharing your knowledge I'm loving all your videos x
How do you take if off? Can you do a tutorial?
Ta da! Dip Powder Nails *REMOVAL* Tutorial th-cam.com/video/bHExCkjr9wU/w-d-xo.html
I tried it this morning. Powder went everywhere. Coverage was awful and ruined my nails trying to get damn stuff off. I’m binning the lot. Like you been fooled by this company
Aww I’m sorry you had a bad experience 😭
Blimey, thats a huge amount of products
I go through phases of making everything simple and then lean back into having a routine that takes an hour 😂
Very informative! Thank you
🥰
Too much base liquid on brush, u need to make sure that there is very little product on brush 😊
This is probably the best tip I wish I had known 6 months ago 😂 All that filing…. 😭
You don't actually say anything about using the product and how it applies! I have this, I've used it once and whilst there is room for improvement I have no complaints from a first use.
My complaints are about a nail file that had no grit, a brush that was so cheap the hairs kept falling out, very small pots of powder that were unbranded, cheap plastic bottles and a lack of box that was supposed to come with the kit. The same quality item can be bought for about £7 or £8. I did swatch sticks in the video and said that the product does work, but it is a total rip off and poor quality. I actually upgraded my kit to include an extra powder, at a cost of £10. The same pots can be bought for about £1 each. I’m glad you have found it good to use, but the kit I was sent, and many other people were sent was a total rip off. I have asked the company if i can review their kit again to see if they have made improvements - they’re not interested.
Welp. Wish I did more research! Long story short I don't really do salons, I bite my nails and making the nails semi pretty is the only way to stop me chowing down on them 😩. After failing miserably with polish for years I started seeing these dip kits and thought go on then let's have a go. Manicista just happened to be the one I clicked and decided £30 was reasonable enough. Just had my first go with them, being inexperienced I didn't know what to expect quality wise. Same deal with the jiffy bag and bubble wrap and plastic bottle which did make me somewhat sus. The end result after my first go isn't too bad! Better than my attempts with polish, but I'm now very worried that it's gonna be awful to remove and whatever is in those bottles was so strong I actually got a headache after finishing the first hand :/
Don’t stress 🥰 I’ve bitten my nails all my life, still a picker 😬 the dip powder system has literally changed everything. Much better than gel because dip powder is acrylic and harder. So basically, you bought a bit of a crappy brand and although it does work, it should have been about a tenner, if that. 😭 Just chalk it up to experience and call it a practice. Even more expensive kits can be a bit smelly, it’s just the glue, but there are sensitive liquids available, they don’t tend to last as long tho. We have a discord group of want to come and chat some more…. The best starter kit in my opinion is Sassy Saints, I know it’s not cheap but it’s solid and has a good customer support team. Or if you wanna keep the cost down, you can get lavender violets off amazon, powders can be a bit random but their liquids are great 👍
@@hayley-DNA I've had a look at the Lavender Violets on amazon and I'm certainly eyeing them up for a second attempt haha thankfully a bit of acetone has sorted out yesterday's shameful attempt 😂 thank you for your reassuring response ❤️
Thank you. Can you make another tutorial on what to do when they're grown out? How to use the added lenght? Also, when do you apply mavala bitter nail polish to prevent absent minded biting?
I’ve got a lot more videos planned for next year! 🥰 will try my best 🥰
I love the sassy nail kit I got but to be honest I wish I researched into different brands before purchasing and ordered lavender violets, just for the price difference and the ease of actually getting it in the UK!
Dip powder is big in America and seems to be taking off here as well. Which means companies like to take advantage! SS is a solid company and does a good starter kit, but LV liquids are hard to beat tbh, and cheap! I’ve just ordered a kit from a company in the Netherlands that are marketing to the UK now, so we’ll see how that goes 🤩
I found i had the same dragging issue when applying the second chrome coat. First time it took me 3 hours to finish, my application was near perfect, but i made the foolish mistake of applying the top coat from the regular kit to "seal" it, but it all went to mush instead. I wanted to cry! It did dry eventually but it ended up in a rough near gold leaf look. Yesterday i had my second go, determined to do it right. I had jet jewel (black colour) and applied the gold chrome on it. Did my left hand, it looked like pure gold really with none of the black showing through. The second chrome coat again ruined the entire thing, so i just filed down, rehardened and reapplied the top coat and left it as just the black manicure. I do like the regular nail kit, and have loads of colours, but I'm not sure i want to give the chrome another go. It doesn't seem to be worth the time and effort to end up with a bad result and a do over again.
I think that’s basically where I am at as well tbh. It looks so cool when you’ve done it but I’m not sure it’s worth all the effort (and money).
What was the white dip called that you poured over the blue tip?
It’s not white, it’s clear 🤩
@hayley-DNA ooohhhh!!!! I'm inspired!!!

id like to see how long it lasted and how to take it off.
This was the next video I made: REMOVING my Sassy Saints Manicure // Hot Rice Bag technique th-cam.com/video/_EcoGKkWu0E/w-d-xo.html
Do you put a last top coat on to "seal in" the chrome powder at the end. Thank you.
No, I prefer the way it looks without, but it does rub off eventually. If you top coat it, it lasts longer but it has a slightly glittery look to it.
@hayley-DNA thanks lovely. I've not been brave enough to try it yet 😂
@@tinaphillips3762 do it!!!! 🩷
I have the original sassy saints kit but want to buy some chrome .. do I need all those polishes or are the ones in the original kit the same (but named differently) ?
@ according to SS the chrome liquids and powders are different to the normal ones and are not interchangeable. It’s not something I’ve had the time to test tbh…. The powders did seem a bit grainier than the normal powders, but I didn’t notice any difference in the liquids. When I have time I want to test the normal kit with the chrome liquid and powder to see if it works.
