classic polycule problems🙄
Dear Lord, send us another Beatles right now...
i so wish the video of this still existed. there’s not enough interview media of them in video form
Great interview, but cut the bull, it's not "lost"! This is from a famous and well-circulated LP on VJ records called "Hear the Beatles Tell All".
John Lennon the Greatest musician of all time I could listen to him speak all day
My favorite Monkee. May Mike forever rest in peace. You're missed very much.
9:57 60 years on, can confirm the Beatles have not tapered off yet
I just love this guy so much. Great songwriter. Lucky enough to have seen McGuinn , Hillman AND Clark in the mid 70s at the Glasgow Apollo !
I met Gene and did an interview for my TV and radio shows It was a memorable moment and he was wonderful and inspiring.
lol jfc. make Marilyn Wilson the white house press secretary.
she is smoooooooooth
audio drops @| 1:44
I can't pick! Same issue I have with any other troupe, fictional or real, musical or TV/movie. I'm always switching and it might depend on current mood. I always trip out that people have absolute favourites that never change. Glad to hear the "critics" called out of line and "What care you?" because that is the annoyance of all that broo ha, really just wastes time and inconsequential. More Witchita Train Whistle fun, finally heard about that at all this week. Purely egotistical, well, said!
Very lovely interview with deeper explanations of what to do and what was done and decisions and that strength of belief of "Why not?" was really cool. I hope to return to this for further contemplation. I just adore and raised myself on interviews like this. It is brilliant.
Such potential unrealized. Saddest story in rock music.
Got to see Dennis with the original early touring group back in 1973 at Notre Dame University,Indiana. Got to chat with Jerry, a roadie they had, from Manchester,England. it was an amazing concert even though I sat behind the stage. R.I.P. Dennis. We all miss you.
Its an injustice the monkees are not in the rock & roll hall of fame
Sixty years ago, yet seems like yesterday. And I remember seeing the Pirate Radio ship off the east coast of England when I was a kid!
2:00 I don't think Buddy Holly named the Crickets based on the sport, as it wasn't well known in the US; he was just looking for names of insects and almost used Beetles.
Isn't this Andrew Gold on the image?
No. 😂
Love this album
In addition to his prolific songwriting and one of a kind singing voice, Gene Clark was a brilliant mind! No other.
I wish I to had known this than 2024! I would of loved to talk to! I was so busy raising kids and grandkids!
The interview with Mike and he is the one I would love to talk to and meet!
I think that they rocked and yes they grew!
Yes, I agree, that thing that would have been the best album ever! (I believe Brian says, "...but we junked it," not "...but we jumped.") However, I'm really happy Smiley Smile exists! It's a great album all on its own! If SMiLE had come out, I hope the next album would have been a version of Smiley Smile.
Incredible! What a find
Going on what I've seen and heard and extensive reading of anything Beach Boys , I think Marilyn is a fine person with great heart . Like the Everly Bros. song "so sad to watch good love go bad" . In '64 I was a freshman at Bellflower H.S. and they performed at a Friday nighters dance in our gymnasium . 2 cars I remember parked by the gym were a Pontiac Grand Prix ( Carl's) and Love's Jag XKE .
It's a great album musically, even given Dennis' rough voice
The Beatles is such a clever name when you think about it
I’ll wait
BMR, B Mitchell Reed NYC 1966 WMCA !!!!
Who is the interviewer and who did he work for?
Gene Clark forever!💖
Thank you Jason for releasing these Pete interviews. Little did Pete know at the time of this interview he'd be a Rock and Roll icon who helped shape the direction of Rock and Roll. Little did he know he would end up being a musical genius inducted in the Rock and Roll hall fame. Little did he know he would be a legend
Maravilloso músico y cantante, inolvidable en el grupo the monkees!!!!!!❤
Carl along with his brothers are all geniuses ....the " Social" side sadly but obviously took its toll... easy to criticise but most would have been tempted in that time to indulge....still their fantastic songs, vocals, recordings and films leave us all with a fantastic legacy.....
Taking care of Brian I believe was as easy as it seemed. His second wife is deceased and I never believed it was a conventional arrangement, just an arrangement to keep the cash flow and then add kids. Somewhere he did an interview and he was not happy with the arrangement in any way. I bet that interview was scrubbed so now everything is lollipops and kisses…
Typo…was not as easy as it seemed.
Wonderful interview. They loved the early amazing years.
Actually according to Hal Blaine (drummer), the whole session was basically a tax write off for Nesmith.
Mike love solo albums are an embarrassment.
I’m proud to say that I’ve never heard a single note from any of them. Long may it stay that way.
No one ever interviewed more honest than Dennis. He wouldn’t even know how to be insincere.
Great 👍 Interview with Marilyn (Rovell) Wilson in 1991. Very nice lady that skillfully answered all questions.
Reading different articles thru the years that not long after this interview that Brothers Recordind Studio was sold. Therefore , the reasoning behind Bambu not being completed. The studio was almost like therapy for him. The getaway. In the midst of the second divorce from Karen Lamm Wilson was a strain. So the downfall began and spiraled til his death. We all on here are Beach Boys fans and therefore Dennis Wilson fans. He had energy, compassion and in general a caring down to earth soul. Talented but unfortunately went down the wrong paths of self destruction. Gone to soon.
Thankfully we can hear these interviews because I love Stevie Wonder! I’m surprised a movie has not been made about him.
They should be proud ! They became a real band . They played in front of thousands of people and kicked butt !
Crazy he thought Buffalo Springfield was a failure.
Well, the band started pretty well, but most of their shows were openings for other greatest bands, and it didn't really went further than that. So that's what he means with failing to be successful. More than this , from spring 67 to spring 68, the members have been under several arrests for drugs, so the line up had to change a lot of times, nothing was permanent enough to go on longer that way. Actually, if Stills and Neil didn't became so famous after Buffalo Springfield, not many people would remember this band nowadays IMO . Neil would finally discover what stardom means in the 70s, and finally decide that he doesn't really wants that anyway. 😅
Huge Neil solo fan but I still prefer Springfield songs if I had to choose.
@@davidhopler4287 I prefer Sprinfield songs when Neil sings then, rather than Richie though. But the good thing is that we don't have to choose !
Im the opposite. I like Richie singing Neil’s songs.
@@davidhopler4287 That's the good thing with Neil : there's sooo many different versions of his songs that we can always find our favorite one.
Gee, how come she didn't mention the final trigger for the divorce? Brian finding her in bed with Rocky Pamplin, one of the bodyguards.
I LOVE all of your interviews...always so much perceptive.
Colin Unwin.
And 45 years and nine days later, the Beach Boys would play their longest ever concert. 😮
Chairman Townshend never disappoints.
Thats nice. I enjoyed listening to this.
