Gene Clark forever!💖
Thank you Jason for releasing these Pete interviews. Little did Pete know at the time of this interview he'd be a Rock and Roll icon who helped shape the direction of Rock and Roll. Little did he know he would end up being a musical genius inducted in the Rock and Roll hall fame. Little did he know he would be a legend
Maravilloso músico y cantante, inolvidable en el grupo the monkees!!!!!!❤
Carl along with his brothers are all geniuses ....the " Social" side sadly but obviously took its toll... easy to criticise but most would have been tempted in that time to indulge....still their fantastic songs, vocals, recordings and films leave us all with a fantastic legacy.....
Taking care of Brian I believe was as easy as it seemed. His second wife is deceased and I never believed it was a conventional arrangement, just an arrangement to keep the cash flow and then add kids. Somewhere he did an interview and he was not happy with the arrangement in any way. I bet that interview was scrubbed so now everything is lollipops and kisses…
Typo…was not as easy as it seemed.
Wonderful interview. They loved the early amazing years.
Actually according to Hal Blaine (drummer), the whole session was basically a tax write off for Nesmith.
Mike love solo albums are an embarrassment.
No one ever interviewed more honest than Dennis. He wouldn’t even know how to be insincere.
Great 👍 Interview with Marilyn (Rovell) Wilson in 1991. Very nice lady that skillfully answered all questions.
Reading different articles thru the years that not long after this interview that Brothers Recordind Studio was sold. Therefore , the reasoning behind Bambu not being completed. The studio was almost like therapy for him. The getaway. In the midst of the second divorce from Karen Lamm Wilson was a strain. So the downfall began and spiraled til his death. We all on here are Beach Boys fans and therefore Dennis Wilson fans. He had energy, compassion and in general a caring down to earth soul. Talented but unfortunately went down the wrong paths of self destruction. Gone to soon.
Thankfully we can hear these interviews because I love Stevie Wonder! I’m surprised a movie has not been made about him.
They should be proud ! They became a real band . They played in front of thousands of people and kicked butt !
Crazy he thought Buffalo Springfield was a failure.
Gee, how come she didn't mention the final trigger for the divorce? Brian finding her in bed with Rocky Pamplin, one of the bodyguards.
I LOVE all of your interviews...always so much perceptive.
Colin Unwin.
And 45 years and nine days later, the Beach Boys would play their longest ever concert. 😮
Chairman Townshend never disappoints.
Thats nice. I enjoyed listening to this.
Yes one but his partner blew him away in the latter years of the groups exsistence and through the solo years. Had a couple, Imagine, Mind Games, the rest were average at best.
bang bang...
I see many American comments here. As a Brit if you don't mind? The Beatles were average musicians compared to 🇺🇸. Songwriters too. Epstein cashed in on your loss of JFK. 👇 A few months earlier, when they initially landed in Feb 1964. In my opinion the British invasion was an elaborate con. For example Epstein paid for girls at your airports. All the Brit invasion did initially, was to bring your music back to you. That's why Elvis was so indifferent. He saw through it. So I'll name just 3 better Goffin and King Paul Anka Neil Sedaka. Musicians? The Wrecking Crew, so I've named just the important ones. Brian Wilson used them on Pet Sounds. Need I say more? My advice is to let go of the Beatles Myth. John called it that. Salutations, from Kensington and Chelsea; in London. 🇬🇧 🤝 🇺🇸
11:11 they said, "No" in America, because I was not Abel to MAKE IT HAPPEN &, nobody knew about Me anyway ~or, atleast, not like they are going to...
Is this Larry Kane (WCAU TV-10 in Philadelphia) interviewing John?
Right before they came here in indy on Sept 3rd& 4th. Thanks John Paul George and Ringo.
Long live the memory of Dennis. xoxo The Clarences
We did see the best of him which is what we were allowed to see like all actors singers movie Types
I purchased the album in 1967, genius....Carl Wilson said this concerning SS...It was a bunt instead of a home run
It was definitely a bunt...
@@paulpotter9867 Love the BB...but their entire post 66 catalog is a bunt
@@MarcelaR-dh1ok , naahh... Friends, 20/20, Sunflower all have a few good songs...just not the same overall sound as pre 66' Beach Boys, but just my opinion...
@@paulpotter9867 I purchased all those albums when they came out. The music changed in 67...Cream, Hendrix, Who, 68...Zep...and the BB were out of favor until 74 Endless Summer. True they had some good stuff post 66, but Brian had lost his mojo...
@@MarcelaR-dh1ok Do it again, This Whole World, Til I Die, Country Air, Darlin, Busy Doin Nothin, ECT. says he didn't completely lose his mojo, but I get your point...
BS made the charts, were on many TV shows and did Monterey. More than many a band I'm sure. He kept leaving and coming back. He should have left once and given the other band members a break. He is 23 years old here, sounds like 47.
❤U Mar
Man, Dennis really went to shit from just after around this time. He sounds so together here at the releasing of his solo album so sad.
It's interesting that Mike never mentions that the band are currently working on making a movie. By April of 1968 filming had already started & it was no secret at that point that The Monkees were currently working on making a theatrical film. This leads me to believe that this interview (along with part 1) was either recorded much earlier than April or we aren't hearing the entire interview. In either case it's a good & insightful interview.
It's interesting to see the plastic cup John is holding in the picture. I had forgotten them until now. They were out of vending machines. Tea, coffee, soup and hot chocolate.
It would have been great to hear Mike and Buddy Holly jam together. A Texas supergroup.
Such a brilliant mind, and I just love listening to that soft spoken texas drawl
Little Joe Cook and the Thrillers did “Peanut”…wild to hear Stevie mention that as Little Joe Cook became a local legend near Harvard Square with his residency at the Cantab Club for many years.
Thanks for posting this! Tom Snyder always kind of made me anxious. There's nothing relaxing about his interviews. But Marilyn sounded great.
Lost interview, how so?
How did you come up with long hair, how long have you been together, when did you cut your record? Please notice the words long, short ("short ride") and cut. Not to mention: "it will taper off". Off the record?
the Beatles five years old by 1964? Hm.
Gracias por poner Subtitulos !!!!
They should have understood right then....forget the home studio
It's a brilliant album, bucko. If you want a clear picture of how freakishly talented they were as a vocal group, you won't find a better example than _Smiley Smile._
@@runnersdialzero1244 Bucko...you snowflakes are so pathetic...This is what parental drug use produces....zeros.....Yeah, I purchased it in 1967. As Carl Wilson said...The album was a bunt instead of a grand slam....source Wiki.

It’s pretty bad. I like wolf honey. I was so disappointed by smiley smile. But that Bruce’s I heard the smile sessions first. So yeah.
Very underrated album.
"The day you just open your mind to music you're halfway to opening your mind to life."
I bought Wichita Train Whistle Sings back in the 80s, used, hoping it would be like 1st National Band album. I heard nothing Nez like in any way. Boring instrumentals of Nesmith songs. It’s interesting now to hear how into the project he was.
Better answers than the questions deserved. Did the interviewer not know that Britain's population at the time was about 50 million? Compared to 200 million in the USA?
a few days shy here of meeting dylan and a life-changing encounter with marijuana.
im sorry but Smiley Smile sucked (exept for the material taken straight from smile) and the next two albums sucked too.
Cmon man, little pad!!
Stupid take
@@oldskool4088 not as stupid as them albums.
