Primarily, I speak about the aspects of extreme minimalism as a lifestyle whilst being a mother to a toddler who doesn't own a car and living in a small home in the UK.
Importantly, I do talk about *addictions* and mental health on this channel.
It's a byproduct, as that's what I also live with on a daily basis.
This does mean that occasionally a triggering subject will be spoken about.
I hope to combine these two very important subjects together in a way that will help rather then hinder others.

Hi, my name is Nicole and welcome to my channel. Today's video is Part One of my How I Became A Minimalist. In this section, I am referring to years 2009/10 up until 2019. During those years, I was quite unstable mentally, socially, physically and all the other -allys, quite a lot of time. I was a teenager that was insecure, just finding out they were pansexual, or bisexual, as it was back then...
*Extreme* Minimalist Bathroom Tour

Hi, my name is Nicole and welcome to my channel. Today's video is an extreme minimalist bathroom tour! This is an extreme I feel I can comfortably go for the time being. And possibly looks like more because I have about 8 things that is strictly for my toddler that aren't for me. Whilst trying to be intentional about the 1 in 1 out rule, I still manage to get gifts Christmas and both our birthd...

Hi, my name is Nicole and welcome to my channel. Today's video is the second half of my minimalist wardrobe. As always, I wish I didn't have to own this much and consistently seek to challenge my view of my minimalist lifestyle. Which means, I decluttered something. Not as big as I would have hoped, but it's something.

Great declutter 👍🏻 I hate the sorting and taking to bin/charity shop/selling too. I have loads more here to do too, it adds up super quickly doesn't it, esp with children! If the packed lunch box cleans up well, they are quite handy as toy storage. I used to recycle the girls plastic ones for their felt pens etc and the cloth ones like you have for their figure toys. Could be handy to store his cars or something in? But I agree they are hard to clean for sure!
That part where your kid stole the toy reminded me the time when my ex and I were at the cosmetic store. I bought something and said that I will receive a gift too. While I was paying I saw he did sth there but I didn't realize what he was doing. When we came out of the store it turned out he had put a bottle of foundation into the paper bag where the other purchases were. He thought this was my gift 😂 I couldn't stop laughing 😂 and I was just thankful the security gates didn't start beeping otherwise it would have been like we stole it on purpose. We took it back and apologized. The salespeople said they were wondering where it went 🤣 I think they even gave us few parfume samples as a thank you 😀
Lovely video, reminds me of when my girls were small. I miss playing with play doh!
@@minimalismandmore I loathe the stains 🤣
I don't have children so don't know much about parenting but what I see is such a special bond and some beautiful mindful play :-). He has space to be in the space without loads of noise :-).
HE still doesn't play with half his toys unless I am sitting with him, being creative, which is quite hard to do. 😅
Beautiful child!
Also as someone who see this child like 5x a week this really is how there day in a life is like 🙃😆
Next video you upload should be multi videos that Harry took on your phone and mine and filmining form Harry point of view. Ps to anyone wondering when ever see us filming or taking selfie he steals the phone out of our hands and runs around with it even when we do video calls 😂
I’m Guessing you filmed this early morning and on a bad weather day 😅
I got a glass nail buffer to get rid of all of the polish/remover...love it!!
Really helpful to hear your thought process and helps me to continue to declutter and get inspiration for our own home. Thank you 🙏💕😊
This is very inspiring. Thank you for sharing! I think I will start mine today. ❤️
Your hair looks fantastic ❤
@@SarrahStrange thank you x
Love the yays and try again page 🩷
This was sooo motivating! I have an everything journal which I like, but I would like to tidy it up a bit. I really want to track more stuff, so I`m totally copying some of your ideas :D
@@EllieW3000 go for it. Was there anything you track that I don't?
@@extrememinimalism Nothing 😅 Mine is more of a diary, but I do have pages with plans etc.
<3
Is this notebook completely blank or does it have some headers or monthly stuff? :)
@Minimalistmegan it has dots and that's it. The rest I draw. :)
@@extrememinimalism nice!
Wow Nicole! It's impressive how much you track! I'm abit too lazy for that but I do enjoy keeping a diary/journal to keep notes etc. I don't currently have a good journal just a couple of rabdom notebooks😆 I'm inspired to invest in a nice journal now.🌸
@Minimalistmegan I used to track on my phone, and still do track steps on there x recently my diet.
I love your place. It’s so cute and tidy and perfect for 2
I loved this video and in general your videos are very inspiring to me. You are a very lovely and brave person ❤Thank you so much. I have a problem with overconsumption especially with perfumes and beauty items in general. I hope I’ll be able to reduce my possessions. Having all those items makes me feel stressed, but when I have less I feel stimulated by other beauty channels and buy more stuff 😢
Was that me in the background talking of that video in the club 😂 bc what was i saying 😂
I think so.
I like to see normal people's homes. Not super consumer or overly decorated. Very sensible and a nice example for your son ❤❤
@@IsabelChavier-Geist Thank you 😊
Been waiting for this, awesome! You just might consider switching those plastic containers to glass ones. Huge problem with plastic used over long period of time, add heat and physical damage. The thinner it is, the worse it gets. About used teflon pans - there is nothing to worry about, we don't metabolize teflon so it's safe. Cheers!
For your experience what are the firsts steps to begin this journey? Nice video !
@traff1986 a really boring but very crucial first step is to ask yourself WHY? What is the god damn point in decluttering? Is it for the trends? For the style? To make routines easier to follow? To save money? To downsize? To spend more time doing fun things? To reduce pointless stress? After that, I figured out how that life would look like practically. Is holding onto 2 toasters what you imagine when you want less stress, for example, in your life?
Thank you so much for sharing! Your home tour was very inspiring. It’s so hard to find extreme minimalist families. Take care.
@BonBonLove375 REALLY HARD. I can't wait to downsize further when he's older and we don't have all the 'short/young people extras', hehe and can just use the same damn knives and toothpaste. 😅
@@extrememinimalism my kiddos are all teens and it is way easier as they have gotten older. I think raising this way from the start is key. They are naturally minimalist now.

Thank you for presenting your home and the reasons for your choices. I hope you are feeling better soon. Your son's age is a wonderful time of life and it is touching to see how much of your home is centered on him.
@truuluvv The home is designed around his needs and ease most. IF I had money and owned the space, I would have included a built-in sofa space and a murphy bed with storage and a Murphy table with folding chairs on the wall. That, at least visually, would look more appealing, lol.
Loved it. Very informative and inspiring. Makes me realise I’ve go a while to go.
@@thegoose8545 I still feel that way too haha x
@@extrememinimalism yep. It’s constant. I’m trying to use up my paint in the house. I’ve bought too much and stored it for too long. Now I just want it gone.
@thegoose8545 Relate to that. I AM lucky my sandals broke lol, so one less thing to store.
Thanks for sharing your place Nicole! Seems minimalist apartment tours like yours bring me so much peace 😌
It's interesting seeing how little I have by how long it took to film and describe *almost* the whole thing.
Interesting video, I can appreciate the practicality of only having what you use and need, cleaning (and moving if you ever need to) must be so much easier like this. I have a few questions about your son and how he's going to grow up in this environment. I see he has some toys and books, and that's great. How do you plan on dealing with it when he gets older and wants more things, or starts comparing how much he has to what other people have? If he is gifted items by other people, will you let him keep them? How much say will he be allowed over his own possessions? And why so much white? You can still have minimalism with some colour you know ;) All the white makes the house feel very 'other', which while it might just be a style preference for an adult, seems like it might have an effect on a child. Not criticizing or anything, just genuinely curious about what I've seen here
When he is older, he can decorate his room however he likes and keep as many things that will fit into his room as he wants as long as he can keep things tidy after playing as long as he likes them or plays with them and they fit and aren't broken. For now, I don't want colour at home (even if I did paint it, I only considered navy blue or grey, maybe beige if I changed everything to a wood color. We are exposed to colors everyday, through his books/toys/ststionary, bluey and ms rachel, window views and being in the real world so he has plenty of access to colours. I don't understand what you mean by 'other'. Most of his toys are from others. We keep what he plays with and discard the rest. Thats why we have so many ride ons lol. We tried posters with the ABC 123 colors and objects but he kept tearing them down in the living room and then they would not stay on the walls.
As for comparing himself... its an opportunity to teach him a valuable lesson that he doesnt need everything just because other people have it and if you really want it, you have to think about, earn it (chores, good behaviour, wait for mummy to be paid etc) or wait for it. :).
This is very interesting, thank you for sharing :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loved this video. I enjoy watching how much or how little belongings other minimalists have. It’s inspiring to keep declutterring.
