Not So Pleasant, Yet Enjoyable. (Magia Record)
Its very obvious that the show was cancelled mid season 2 when they planned for 3 seasons. When do we ever see a season 2 with 8/12 episodes and when is a season 3 coincidentally 4 episodes? When a show gets cancelled. Covid is primarily to blame for this as everything in japan shut down and so many series went down the garbage shute but i think how they tried to wrap up magia record was a commendable effort and very pretty to watch
It's their byproduct, don't really care about the personal details..
I love anime. I understand why people could think fans of anime are weird. And yes, there are PLENTY of strange, uncomfortably awful anime(*coughcoughincestforexamplecough*). But it’s not ALL that anime is known for. Like any art form, any community, there are the minorities. And while the strange anime might seem overpowering, it’s not all that anime is about. You have heartfelt stories, genuine appreciation for other people. Anime has changed me a lot, and I’ll always appreciate it. I know what my limits are, and I’ll never try to force myself to like something because it’s popular. Just… enjoy what you like. If you don’t like the weird shit, there are so many anime that don’t have that weird shit. If you don’t like a certain genre of anime(such as ecchi or action), there are plenty of anime that don’t have that genre. In short, enjoy what you enjoy. Entertainment is made to entertain.
Well said. Thanks for the insight!
Well I mean if the legitimate "services" weren't such trash then maybe people wouldn't pirate. Between region locks, price hikes, laughable libraries from both a size and catalogue diversity standpoint, questionable business decisions, technical issues it's no wonder people pirate. And yes, at one point in time was a legitimate paying customer of both Funimation (when they were still around) and Crunchyroll. Both services sucked a fat one and were NOT worth the time or money. Pirate the show and if you like it enough buy the bluray or other merch if you really want to support the studio or whatever.
Turn the title around "An Elementary School Student Becomes My Wife"
dude, people freaking out over something that is produced on japan is always crazy to me. there's like a lot of doujin cp crap that they could go on and crap about but this is what they go after. going out of your way to attack something just because of its title is just lazy and dumb. my teacher always says that a good title gives of the premise of the work, and some japanese manga/light novels take that to another level. problem is that people can't think critically, just see the words and think that there's only one possible plot that could develop that
It seems to be the females and some NPC's that are white looking.
Music? Out Of This World. (Positively) Person behind the sick guitar solo's reputation? OUT OF THIS WORLD! (NEGATIVELY AS IN NO HUMAN BEING SHOULD EVEN BE INSANE ENOUGH TO DO THAT)
This is what happens when people only look at things through surface-level understanding. They just look at the title and assume things that are not even true, but they believe to be true based on preconceived notions and refuse to look at them deeper.
This is a legit good anime
This is a legitimately good manga, it's not about romance or love, it's about dealing with grief and loss. twitter can eat shit, I can't say it's not a weird situation but that should be obvious from the title of the manga/anime itself, but it's definitely not what those dumbasses at twitter thinks it is
I used to read the manga a while back and this show was super wholesome Twitter is just filled with creepy people projecting their own insecurities unto stuff. If they see it as Pedro bait, then that's because they're Pedros
I'm an anime-only. Lots of people said the manga was promising as well. So far it's not perfect, but good. I wrote the script for this after Ep4 and it's still going positively for as much as I can see. Thanks for sharing and appreciate the support!
@@CrescentAnime don't worry, I never got too far into the story(I'm reading too much right now). It's very wholesome, but yeah. It's got potential
Ohh booy wait till they see the korean movie "My Little Bride" (2004) that movie didn't age well especially for today's demographic. I never watched it backed the day but by I do remember a couple of fellow millenials literally loving the film's plot and still talking about how great it is to this day. Even by then I find that movie weird and uninteresting.
Haven't seen the movie, but I agree that there is a clear contrast in the standard of "OK" these days and before. What matters for us though is our common sense and critical thinking, at least from my experience. Sometimes a consensus is just a popular opinion and not an objectively righteous one. @@CrescentAnime i see ,tog is a famous one and a good one too expect nothing less from webtoon and korean creators! Do you think the horrible working conditions for animators in japan will eventually drive new talent out of the industry and in the future anime studios will be forced to fully outsource their projects to foreign animators? (Or at least the vast majority of it)
@@tenchan3255Great question! Personally thinking, that would hardly be the case, especially since at least there are still a handful of studios with well-managed human resources too (ie. KyoAni, according to past news). And with how massive the industry is, I doubt the "executives" will let such a dire situation occur, however the way they're going to do it. Seeing from a general perspective though, Japan is one of those countries with HR shortage (hence you see a lot of foreigners come there for jobs), so outsourcing their stuff isn't surprising tbh. In fact, they've done that plenty of time before.

While I do agree that Touka and Nemu continuing on with their plot that would effectively end the world and everyone they love that isn't a magical girl, even after coming to their senses is not great writing, isn't that just. something cult leaders do irl once they come to that point in their careers? Like, when I was watching it unfold, I actually said to myself out loud "Well that's not realistic--- (remembers how cults at their end stage tend to behave, and how their leaders tend to only double down, even if it's obvious to them that what they're doing is wrong) huh, maybe it's not that unrealistic after all..."
Hum... I don't think Chinese DongHua or their Korean counterpart getting any signification traction in the near future at least. It took decades for manga and japanese anime to take root outside Japan, even in the most optimistic scenario, it will also take at least that long for DongHua to reach that level. On top of that I think there is additional challenges that must be overcome. Among them: the quality of source material, a larger cultural gap, the language and the quality of the original VA. So far the adapted material didn't give me favorable impression in term source quality even when it had been adapted by a japanese studio and had JP VA.
@@nobrainnogame4320 Agreeable. Speaking of VA though, I'm more pessimistic that they'll be able to reach anime's level anytime soon. Part of it being Mandarin is a language way harder to comprehend/sounds probably weird to some people in the West. On top of that, I don't see the VA industry being a massive one in China, while in Japan it's almost the same as being a model/figure (heck some of them also work as models/singers).

I would like more stories, especially certain Webtoons to receive proper anime adaptations, but ultimately don't see it going mainstream for a while. In addition many recent adaptations that are from sources outside Japan seem to be getting the cold shoulder or poorly animated - take season 2 of Tower of God for example.
@@AbyssalSoda Agreed. Anime has always been an industry embedded into a big culture in Japan for so long and I don't think this is the same in China. Or at least not that there are people willing to invest millions to make it big worldwide (yet). And ya the first cour of ToG 2 was just extremely awful, unfortunately. It isn't just seeing the animation but the narrative feels like all over the place with its messily treaded pacing.

Tomoe killed Sakura in episode 10 when she found out the truth about witches. It's natural for her to join the magicians."Everyone will be saved"
It had some good things 1. Kuroe (basically god) 2. The story was decent. 3. Kuroe (gods wish they were her) But people who played the games in the US, Japan, or the only English speaking nation according to Aniplex USA, the US, it supposedly falls short of that story.
I think to summarize, the anime didn't do go because it was rushed. The story and the characters was already written but the anime didn't have enough time to flesh out the arcs and the characters.
Either that or it's a messy writing to begin with too. But there's nowhere stated so I can't really claim anything. But one thing for sure the direction felt worse from season to season and by the end of the last season special it seemed like the scheduling was all over the place. If I had to make a guess, it's because the Madoka movie 4 was already announced so they felt like no reason to put more attention on this when the audience was already well attracted by the news. Also, could've been cuz they were already working on the recently released Monogatari series (considering monetary benefits between these two, it made sense if they preferred giving more resource to the latter).
@@CrescentAnime Aweee~ that's sad if it's a priority problem, especially if it's the monogatari since I love that anime as well. The messy writing? not sure. I've seen the final battle in the game (watched a playthrough) with Eve and Walpurgisnacht and it was so epic to me. I was sorta hoping it gets animated, and it did, but instead this was the direction it went. I stilllll hope they remake it and gets the proper episodes to flesh out all the stuff from the game, since like in the end they made it like, 'oh this is just another version, another timeline.' kind of thing.
just watch the magia record gacha game story its way better written than the anime version i was very dissapointend that the anime didnt follow the games footsteps
It literally is one of the good examples of mahou shoujo since most of them are kinda mid and don't have any depth. The reason why fans hate it are nostalgia for the og series (there are a lot of examples how stuff like this is really hated). Another is that magia record is more down to earth. Madoka Magica has a lot more depth, there are a lot of things to uncover conceptualy. But it can't work with a spin-off. But still there are a lot of interesting themes that are developed through a bunch of characters. Yes, it's not as developed as the main series due to the quantity of characters, but it still is enjoyable and fascinating!

It was just a generic post Madoka dark magical girl anime. Its a lot better than the other sad attempts at a dark magical girl show
It had one thing over the generic ones, this one has Kuroe (basically god) to carry it to greatness.
The only character I can truly say feels like a self insert for me is Will from Fresh Prince. A premier class bullshitter who thought he was gonna charm his way through life.

Since the game didn't have the same restrictions as the anime, each if not most of the girls in the final episodes are characterized with their own mini stories in the main game.
@@TeaandSweets-hc2jc Thanks for the info. Didn't know that when I was researching for this video. Now that I think of it, it's been so long since I made this.
I stopped right after minute one. The audience MUST realise that it's not Puella☆Magi☆Madoka☆Magica, it's Magia Record which is basically holds the same title and the same concept as the original, however, no one said that it will be a direct drama as the original series. The original series got only 12 episodes to tell the story, while Magia Record got like 30 episodes in total, it has a much longer time to construct the story or just to build up the story from a different angle. There's so much going on in Magia Record, like: Iroha's sister, the mini kyubey, witches gathering to kamihama, kamihama as a concept, the other magical girls, the discovered connect mechanism, the DOPPEL mechanism, Magius, the sisters and their plan. Like, how do you want all that to fit it in 12 episodes? Under the genre of drama, we even got a sub genre as Slice of Life. Magia Record literally maxed itself out and it's just as good as the original series, it's just shows us a different viewpoint. So in a sentence, Magia Record hasn't failed. Maybe for other who can't make a difference between the two shows.
