@@NOMADFISHERMANYou can get an eagle glass rod at sportsmans for 34.99...you will wanna over line it with a 4wt weight forward line that will give it a little bit of distance.... if your looking for a gorge rod setup go with a double taper line and learn how to roll cast so you not fighting trees again ;-) the Mississippi thing causes you to slow down so the rod loads... doesn't work on roll casts though... I'm the dude that gave you a fly or two at Maysville...

@@NOMADFISHERMANI always just use a 6 or 7 turn clinch knot since I never use anything under say a size 14 or 16 or use tippet thinner the 6x.... even for that fly you used at the beginning (it was a elk hair caddis)....

It’s been a great reel and it’s still on one of my rods… I wish the drag was a little more stout, but overall it has held up to every test… I just might have to thumb it a bit for a little more torque.

Yes, they definitely do! I’ve used them many of times… I’ve even reeled I. Small blues and channels and had them eaten by Flatheads.

Well it’s hard to predict which generators are gonna be open. But the TVA will put out a fairly accurate schedule typically 24 hours ahead of time. As far as tactics go, I love bucktails and swim baits… Any hooks with some flash like roadrunners or other underspin types. And I always recommend throwing a night crawler or two. Just depends on what you want to catch. Good luck!

I have good luck this time of year… I have found that they like to pack into spillways from the October Full Moon through December… So hopefully if you target those areas, you might get a shot at one.
