A Christian Perspective with Matthew Tingblad
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 23 มิ.ย. 2019
My name is Matthew. I am a Christian author and speaker with Josh McDowell Ministry. Thanks for checking out this channel!
So many people have had the misfortune of growing up around shallow versions of Christianity, thinking that faith is blind, the Bible is irrelevant, the church is passé, and its members are indoctrinated to a religion of bigotry. At the same time, I believe that God has never stopped calling his lost bride home, and so many individuals live in great tension. For those within the church, they like the idea of Jesus but their concept of Christianity is unsustainable against the pressures of our world. For those outside the church, their hearts are ready to know God, but their minds don't know what to do about it. In both of these scenarios, my desire for them is the same: that they would be retrained to understand Christianity in light of who God really is and what His church is meant to be.

My Problem with Animal Suffering and Natural Evil
มุมมอง 2342 หลายเดือนก่อน
Skeptics and atheists have rightly pointed out that animal suffering and natural evil (like earthquakes, sickness, etc.) are arguments against the existence of God. As a Christian, I think we have good responses, but I also find that many responses are lacking. This video is to help Christians think well about this problem so that we don't fall into some common mistakes. Recommended Video: My r...

What Christians Should Know about the Documentary Hypothesis

The Documentary Hypothesis, (JEDP theory, or in later times just the "multiple source hypothesis") is a view that multiple authors, rather than Moses, write the Torah (The first five books of the Old Testament). Sorry for asking but I didn't quite get it all, you mean that we suffer this way because our ancestors were bad people, but if we are good God will forgive us and give us the eternal life? If I got it wrong please someone explain it to me, thanks
Bro hasn't read Geeta. Maybe just saw a few TH-cam vedios.
Great video overview and explanation; you saved me from digging a bit about this book or considering ordering it... and thinking about pointing back to the truth of the Bible.
I get it bro ! But let me tell you one thing ... its not loosing your self doesn't mean your character...lets say your boss does some politics and angers you... would you bust out and trash him ?? If so you will be fukedd... sometime your have a control of your emotions and get it together...if it felt like thats not you... someother will and they become the wise one
Watch acharya prashant for more shocking revelation. Geeta is multilayered and reveals your level of consciousness when you try to explain what you understood
These michionaries and islamic people always interprit Gita in wrong way to show their so called holy books great for us hindus there is nothing called holy and must followed book there are books of philosophies which you can use to reshape your life andmimd one of greatest one being gita
Brother this sentence mean you should not take too seriously your emotions you should have control over emotions what you saidis totally wrong and your understanding is totally wrong . If you don't control your emotions it can lead to disaster like killing any person when anger or jealous , if you are sorrow and sad every day thinking about past or what happened your duty or occupation will get affected and even yourental state deteriorates .
According to Christian My way only God or devil Just bible Hell or heaven Just Black and white
You are not crazy. I am almost finishing the book The Power of Now and I thoght the same about it, so i came on youtube to research a video to see if someone thinks like me.
You are right! I feel afliction about Eckhart Tolle. He is trying to take us away from our focus which is the kingdom of heaven. He is not a leader sent by God, that's for sure. However, I like his teachings about being focused on now, not being in the future to create anxiety.
This is utterly wrong if you try to fit hinduism into your own lenses. If you want to understand sanatan dharma completely try to know everything about sanatan dharma and also experience what they say and then you can tell your opinion. Even I can study bible and understand partly and give review about bible, do you agree? No right, you need a guru to understand and clarify your doubts. If your intentions are good, you would have gone to a guru for clarifying your doubts not like this.
So if I sin now, I'm forgiven and I can go to heaven?
Godbless you sir!
One of the most powerful mantra for praying formless god is ANANTA ANANATA DEVESHA ANANTA PHALA DAYAKHA ANANTA DUKHA NASHANAYA ANANTAYA NAMO NAMAH . Chanting this mantra hundreds of times a day because this is the mantra for formless god ..Whatever you see ram , krishna, durga, siva , ganapathi all these gods are manifestations of supreme god ..Hindus beleive there is only one supreme god and he is formless..Instead of praying all these gods pray supreme god who is within you . LORD KRISHNA says instead of KARMA GNANA attain BRAHMA / ATMA GNANA the knowledge which tells about yourself.. when you know then you are paramatma..GOD IS NOWHERE HE IS WITHIN YOU AND IN ALL LIVING THINGS..PRACTICE TO ATTAIN BRAHMA GNANA IS INTENSE MEDITATION CONCETRATE ON BREATH WHILE MEDITATING ..SIT SIT SIT SIT THIS IS THE ONLY MANTRA TO ATTAIN MOKSHA WHICH IS THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF EVERY HINDU IN THE WORLD..THIS IS PURPOSE OF LIFE OF EVERY HINDU...NAMASTHE
Love this playlist! The Gospels are reliable accounts of the life of Jesus, and not because of one fact in the gospels, but a mountain of evidence that provides their reliability!
now try yoga vashishtha you will like it more.
Those atheist believe video game have to created but more complex like formation of planet happened on it's own. This actually don't make logical sense to me.
I believe natural selection was actually a deterministic selection done by God nothings happened in random.
I believe fine tune argument is best argument that God is mastermind
Quran is book of Satan and Allah is that. Dangerous book, but good to read it as education so you can see how sick book it is.
The answer to why animals suffered/died (etc) before humans is - you dont have an answer. :D Lots of ad hoc here.
5:28 There is a world, where the residents live for an extremely long time, and they have facilities to enjoy immensely. However, they do lack devotion to God. Such a world indeed is described as hell still, because all manner of material facilities can never really buy one's soul true love and thus true eternal bliss and knowledge. (sat cit ananda)
4:55 Speculation...... Yikes, I guess your context of what you saying is that, you can infer from existing knowledge. But, actually, there is no need to speculate. The spiritual world, and Lord Krishna's pastimes have been described in detail.. Which will indeed give you concise information.
4:43 Men do have access to wisdom. We are created with the intention to have the potential to unlock true love. There is alot of Vedic Scriptures that reveal much more, however, the most important aspect is to develop Bhakti. Unconditional Loving Devotional Service.
4:20 The world is created out of necessity..... The material world. Just as a civilization has to be created with a prison house, so too, is there a need for a reformative house - the material world. Because of our material propensity to want to lord it over, we in essence have been actually pivotal to the creation of such a material world. In other words - lust continues to make this material world rotate.
4:36 God does want our love, because it is tangibly relishable, especially when the love is unconditional. He is in spiritual competition with such pure devotees, as He sometimes feels almost helpless in terms of returning such a profound devotion. Of course He is full in terms of fullness of unconditional love, but still, He appreciates such sincerity.
A. Hi. Dear Mr Tingblad, There are some probable reasons you are entering stormy waters. B. 1. One could be that your mind could be opening up to subconsciously seeing many gaps in the Abrahamic Theological Perspective. C. This is because the topics you gravitate towards are some of the most controversial and are actually tough questions that many avoid. D. The quotations you use for many of your beliefs are tinged with questionable consequences as it does still challenge the common stance of Abrahamic Theology. E. Thus, you are getting a fair amount of pushback, or maybe even many rejecting your thoughts and ideas. F. 2. Being true to yourself is key. But also, being a genuine person is very key too. Many of your arguments are practically riddled with hypocritical ideas. You judge another perspective with one stance, but then don't evaluate your perspective with the same yardstick. G. The journey of discovering the self is not necessarily simple. It requires the slaying of the ego..... The perceived idea of whom you are. H. Self realization is realizing who you are in relation to God. Once you internally cognise your ultimate purpose and who you truly are, then truth and love will flow without hypocrisy and egoism. I. One who is surrendered to God can then be free to appreciate the fountains of truth from whatever source it seems to be coming from. J. You will not be bound by doctrines because of indoctrination. You will be freed and truly non-sectarian.
In Islam only one path to One True God who u cannot see. Hence, Kryshna cannot be God. Also, Quran claims all previous scriptures have been changed or not from God. Concept of God, seing God, other Gods incarnate God, merge with God Mosha, reincarnation, avatar are some of additions in Bhagawata Gita which means someone or one person wrote it and included his own personal beleif. Example, many people wrote very good points or books in Islam ie Imam Gazali not changing our religion. Similarly a person can write many good things about religion (Bhagawata Gita) but changed to other Gods who u can see with other additions taking everyone far from God.
Fun fact; Theres more evidence and eye witness testimony for Elvis being alive than there is for jesus supposed resurrection. 👍

A closer inspection only on Mathew 16-Jesus did not fulfill it. Who is the target audience? Simon, son of Jonah Simon son of Jonah (Matthew 16:17) Peter (Matthew 16:17) There are only two disciples named: Simon and Peter (Matthew 16:16) Then Jesus warrants “some of you standing here,” namely, Simon and Peter will not taste death until they see the Son of Man . . . “returning with the Angels” and “to repay each one according to what he has done.” (Matthew 16:28) Here, Jesus prophesied that before Simon and Peter die, in their life time, they will see Jesus again coming with the Angels to execute Swift Justice in their life time. Did Simon or Peter wrote that they saw Jesus returning with the Angels-Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Palmoni, Uriel, Ariel, to execute Justice in their life time? The chapter concludes that Simon and Peter will see Jesus returning in their life time with the “Kingdom”-royal Power as King. Simon nor Peter never make such references about Jesus coming with Angels-Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Palmoni, Uriel, Ariel, to execute Justice in their life time. Matthew 17-is about the transfiguration of Jesus but no mention of Angels and Justice. Jesus mentions only mentions 2 dates. 1. This generation standing before me, namely the disciples (Matthew 16) 2. The end of the Age of Pisces (Matthew 24) Conclusion, on one hand, it was never fulfilled in their life time-Matthew 16. On the other hand-it was fulfilled at the end of the Age-Matthew 24. The days of Noah - the rainbow. Pride comes before destruction. eating, drinking, sexing and having a good time and going degenerate --- like the end of the age of Pisces -- this is now, today. Ethnic groups will fight against other ethnic groups. Wars and rumors of wars. The destruction of the Second Temple was written after the fact, it does not count as prophecy false prophets, televangelist (wolves) at the end of the age --- false christ or messiah --- Vissarion -- Russian Jesus and others like him. Angels shall divide the wheat from the tares at the end of the age of Pisces.
Just a simple idea - Hinduism teachings are geared towards the end path called Moksha (Become one with God) Unlike Islam and Christianity where the end path is Jannat or Heaven where endless joy and happiness is found. Hence if any Hindu text is shown to detach yourself with human emotions it is for the reader to realize that emotions are Maya or Illusion. Now the reason I bring this point Hindus believe in the cycle of birth and death and until we realize this Maya or illusion, we are unable to break this cycle and achieve Moksha. That is, reborn again to become a lion, ant, chicken, cow or any living being on the planet until this realization takes place. This concept is purely absent in Abrahamic faith. Hence while you think that what written in the Hindu Texts feels lonely and counterintuitive to human nature. Its not according to a Hindu because he wants to get rid of the cycle. Now referring to Swarga (Heaven) and Narka (Hell) which can be considered equivalent to Heaven and Hell of Abrahamic faith, It has a place in Hindu text too but as a temporary place for souls until there next life where you are going to Swarga if you have good karma before your death or Narka if you have bad karma. But these Swarga and Narka are like Train stations and not final destination to God. In conclusion, Hindu texts have a higher plane of consciousness than Swarga and Narka and Rebirth concepts hence a person from the Abhramic faith might feel hard to wrap around it. Also, Bhagavad Gita which many compares with the Bible and the Quran is quite wrong in my opinion. Bhagavad Gita is a part of the larger story of Mahabharata which is 100000 shlokas (couplets) and Gita is just 700 shloks of it (less than 1%) It's like understanding GoT from season 7. Hope this adds some context!
i had to unsubscribe. I wont follow sombody who refuses to give a stance one way or the other on important issues. im extremely disappointed in your wishy-washy non-stance on evolutionary thinking, plainly put. are you not a Christian? if something fundamentally undermines the gospel, don't you think that should be more your "area of study?" if you think evolution is in the slightest a valid hypothesis, you must also believe that humans are merely the result of millions of years worth of random occurrances, the same as any other animal, and therfore, our sin has no consequence. God makes it extremely clear in the bible that we were created in a very different manner to all the other animals, and set us aside to be the sole bearers of his image. if you give any credibility to evolutionary thinking (even by brushing it off as a supposed non-issue), you are affirming one of Satan's many lies, designed to demote our status as image bearers and make all forms of evil permissible.
WOW! Great job doing backflips to justify the actions taken by the Israelites! Best justification of the murder of unarmed women and children I've seen so far. But what of the little girls forced basically into SEX SLAVERY? God is completely silent on that note & as you know, silence implies consent. So, God condones ALL THIS BEHAVIOR because never a word from God is spoken to Moses against it. Truly, God is a great & powerful & merciful & good God! FUCK! I'D GO TO JAIL FOR LIFE AT LEAST IF I DID THIS SHIT! Dumb asses🎉😂❤
Dear Matthew The Vedas are really a vast set of connected literature which is challenging to understand without a proper guide or a proper spirit of inquiry. In your case, you entered the scene, as it were, with a mindset of 'I already know the truth - let me see what these other folks have to say'. In other words, your inquiry was not genuine ito seeking knowledge that would aid your understanding of life, rather it was about arming yourself for battle with non-Christians. Furthermore, Christianity, like many of the Abrahamic faiths all proceed from a basis of faith which is not a logical position from which to start an inquiry. Also all the Abrahamic religions are devotional in nature - faith is definitely not a logical starting point and definitely not intuitive for some, unlike what you think. The Vedic thought is much more logical as it starts with you and your relationship to the world and then proceeds from that point which is 100% logical as opposed to just (by faith) believing in a God. Now if we really want to get deeper we can go to the old Testament God who was a mass murderer, infant killer and in many respects worse than any of the megalomaniac dictators that the earth has seen - happy to provide biblical references (Bible - Book & verse nr) for any interested parties.
Let's take it that it means calamity. Where is your god's morality? You seem more moral than your god
i think you should have read ramayan by valmiki , which is a more of a historical read instead of religious
Christians study these texts to prove supremacy of Christianity. Abraham mind is not capable of understanding Hindu text. Stick with bible. Nice and simple.
the god lie book proves nothing
It's NOT Satan !!!. There is NO character in the original Hebrew Bible/Old Testament who's NAME is Satan. It's the "original" Hebrew term still used commonly today and originally also referred to ANY human, "hasatan", the satan, the accuser, the adversary, the opposer. Christians came along and made him into the devil, and it's all bullshit !!! He's also NOT the enemy of God, or God would have never invited him up to take his normal seat at with Gods "divine council". Then they have a "bet" regarding Job, and once again we see just how much of a pathetically egotistical monster God really is, and always has been. You Christians, lmfao lol. You're so brainwashed ignorant as regards biblical knowledge.
You are still thinking in terms of body consciousness. While Bhagvat Gita is more focused on SOUL. So if you're just going to talk about humans, pain and desire and "physical life is" and what not, then you haven't really got to it's essence.
Looks like he was reading the Bhagavad Gita to nit pick . He is not ready for the truth.
As a hindu, i am really thankful to you for just being POLITE in putting out your perspective . Otherwise nowadays people are just finding a reason to kill each other. Also sorry for the hate comments in the comment section.
You are understanding Bhagwad geeta because There is not a single commentary which explains Geeta correctly. I have written a commentary which is simple and easy to understand. Then you will have any doubts in your mind.
You summarrily dismiss the GOT, by simply saying, "It is not what Jesus taught.* In doing so, you dismantle the steering wheel and disable a metaphoric, spritual vehicle of ascension. As if there is no profound wisdom or key to enlightenment, to be found within such a marvelous text.
Including my view, you have 285 views on this video at time of posting. People don't really care about this anymore.
6:12 you are completely missing the point about "feeling presence/being rather than thinking about presence/being" It's the same in Christianity.... you can study The Bible for years and years but none of that matters until you let Jesus Christ into your heart. Studying The Bible is great and all, but the more significant thing is actually feeling the love of Christ. The love of Christ cannot truly be understood by the human mind in order to truly understand it you must feel it. Similarly with The Power of Now Eckhart Tolle is warning not to get too wrapped up in trying to understand these concepts on the level of the mind because the only way to truly understand it is to feel it. We are just lowly human being, there are many concepts that our minds cannot comprehend... try explaining rocket science to an ant, you will get nowhere.
The LAW STANDS , Blessed, is he who keeps YAHS commandments . Don't be fooled by pastors .
What seems to be more important that which book is right, rather which path is right. To me the counter intuitive argument is that the all knowing God need to come within creation to experience the pain to understand what pain feels like? Creator of pleasure and pain needs to understand what they feel like? God only came within creation to understand pain, but not what the pleasure feels like,?
I am
