Wow! Charley, you have been through so much. Bullying is never a good thing. Kids do it in school sometimes just to dominate others and wanting to improve their social status and not knowing the negative effects it puts on the person being bullied.

I'm currently in high-school 12th grade to be exact and I get bullied every single day it's always ugly this or ugly that. I told my principal but no one believed me, Even though my experience was not as bad as yours this video really helped me. It's like people don't understand how much bullying hurts you even if it is just verbal especially if it's for years i've been bullied since the 6th grade and kids really think its funny to bully. But bullying is serious and it still makes me hate myself but hopefully I can get out of this funk Anyways this video helped a lot I'm grateful I came across this channel.

I know forgive is a big part of religion but if anyone gave me an emotional kicking I'm afraid I do not forget and do not forgive . You poor soul . God bless you

Hello Charley, I hope you’re having a great day. I can just imagine what you’ve been through in school. Now that you’re no longer affiliated with that organization. Are you able to understand the reasons why so many people dislike the JW denomination? Just by growing up without friends must be painful and you have a double whammy. Being black and being a JW.❤❤

I hope you continue to heal. I've been bullied my entire life. I've been bullied as a child, teen, and adult. Sadly most of the physical, and emotional abuse came mostly from women, outside of my family. In daycare I was physically abused by women. In elementary and junior high school I was abused by boys and girls. The boys beating me up. In junior high school boys and girls physically abused me. The girls slapping me across my face while I was pinned by my arms. I was emotionally abused by females in high school. Made fun of because I was a geek and nerd. The abuse got worse from women entering my adult years. I was abused by both my ex's, both women. To the point my first love, wanted me to kill myself, and kept telling me on several occasions to stab myself with a kitchen knife. Both were manipulative. Over the years I've encountered abusive people, but sadly mostly from women, and in several cases, racist women. I didn't find real friends until years later. Gordana Biernat, who was discovered by Oprah Winfrey, my first ever friend. My best friend Anna, of six years, along with my best friends Bridget, Teresa, Sarah, and Tia helped me heal, along with my family. Those six women took the time to get to know me. Anna was already engaged with her fiance when she first met. It didn't stop her from asking for my number, engaging in art with me, and we've been best friends for six years. Bridget for six years now. Teresa for three years. Teresa lives in London. We talked everyday, and video chat twice a month. My best friend Sarah we talk almost everyday, and video chat once or twice month. Anna has helped me and my family many times, and we did a toddler day for my nephew. She stayed on the phone on me when I was rushed to the hospital after breaking my foot back in 2018, and she stayed on phone with me when I was assaulted last year. My best friends support me spiritually, encourage me to engage in my art exercises, took the time to get to know me, soft-spoken, never put me in circles, never late for hangouts, we've never missed a hangout.

I never thought about the creepy similarities in the recruitment tactics. I thought you were going to talk about the insane peer pressure to support MLM’s within the congregation.

Yeah I ended a friendship with a MLM earlier this this. She was a narcissist like most abusive women I've met in life. Background on my story I've been physically and emotionally abused by women outside of my family, as a child, teen and adult. I hope everyone is safe and well. Charlie, I'm still awaiting your email. Charley it seems a lot of your previous JW family want you back. They’re not giving up on you. Seems like even though they’ve shunned you in the physical, they’re communicating with you on the Internet. They don’t want to leave you alone 😂

So what do you do for leisure now that you’re out of the cult? One thing I have seen about JWs is all their time is invested in their religion. Even what they call leisure is related to their faith. Always in witness mode.

So did you shun completely as well or would you communicate with them because of your humanity although on the quiet so nobody saw you?

One thing I can’t tolerate is disrespect. So they would let a door hit someone in the face and put them at risk of injury and then come out of that hall to witness about Jehovah to an outsider. Charity begins at home. If you’re literally putting someone at risk of injury when I’m your comfort zone, what chance will I have with you outside of your comfort zone 😂. The hypocrisy is astounding

I would like any church group to try this with me. I promise you, they’ll be the ones regretting it because I can be very petty 😂. One thing I have seen with this shunning thing is, they always find a way to contact the person they have so called shunned. Now this where I will discipline them in a way they’ll never forget 😂

Definitely a pyramid scheme.

They are friendly especially to people who they think are vulnerable. That’s what a couple thought of me till I showed them otherwise. Now it’s just ‘good morning’ or ‘hello’. No more trying to give me books or putting notes in my door about angels😂😂

Feigning an interest in folks at the door is definitely step #1 in the JW playbook. Showing love and helping folks, but only as long as they are having a progressive bible study is conditional friendship and phony love. The moment they discern that a bible study student isn’t going to fully embrace their teachings and isn’t progressing towards getting baptized into the organization, they will drop you like a hot potato! !

I've never been in an MLM but my mom was in several while I was growing up. she always lost money and then we'd have whatever product it was for years after, trying to use it or get rid of it. as an adult, my only interaction with an MLM was a friend inviting me for a "spa night" and showing up to it actually being an MLM pitch. I was livid about the deception of the invite and ended up leaving. she was shocked 😮 because "it's such a good opportunity and the products are really good" I've been out of the JWs for about 6 years now and I did a deep dive into researching cults and high control groups and the similarities between MLMs and religious cults are so incredibly high, it's laughable really

Watching this video is bringing back many memories on the business front and the JW . On the business front OTE earnings folk fall for , It means nothing and the recruitment bit makes it a pyramid scheme. I would never be a witness because it do know if the religion I was brought is correct or if any other religion is corect . I like to think a have a faith , that faith is I have a maker that is my faith at least I may have a maker . Bless you

Imagine this- a mother who is a staunch, brainwashed member of a cult, and a father who is just as dedicated to Amway in the same extremist fashion. Two parents who are both extremely susceptible to pyramid schemes and scammers. 😐

Thank you as always you are very honest and reflective, i still working on things as im very black or white thinking, it's either right or wrong, but grey areas exist, being narrow minded is certainly what i need to work on, i felt like you i was very rounded person. Its wake up call, i have lots to put right.feel so out of place, but free.

I agree with you, this was especially true when our daughter came out to my husband and I as bisexual... We were still JWs at the time and didn't want to deal with it because of being narrow minded. We weren't mean, we basically pretended like she never told us. 😢 But over time and waking up, we realized the error in our ways and how terribly we hurt her. We have since apologized profusely and she is very happy now 😊💗🌈🏳️‍🌈 but it goes to show how narrow minded thinking could really hurt others. Great subject! Thanks Charley!

Hello Charley, I think all JW have that narrow minded way of thinking and It is because they were trained to be like that from a very young age. They have to follow and believe in everything coming from the watchtower. I have never been a JW but I have read stuff from the watchtower and the awake when I was younger. I have never been interested ❤❤ I really love the color of your hair ❤❤

Yes I experienced this after going inactive in the LDS church. Saw old friends in a restaurant and they ignored me. It was wierd and hurtful.
