    Hi rick what would you recommend for someone who lives in greece on low income?

    • @rick.austin
      @rick.austin 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hello there, With low income a good eye must be kept on your expenses, regardless of the investments. At the beginning of your investing journey, most of your portfolio growth will come from increasing savings than from great returns in the market. I would definitely start investing, and from Greece you have access to the same etfs of the other EU Countries. For sure you should invest in the S&P500 as a start. Do you need me to suggest you some videos of mine for beginners?

    Once your ETF is holding over 100 companies, whether it's 100 or 250, you're very diversified and I don't see a ton of value in the fact that SCHG holds 250, at least from a risk management point of view. That said, I believe there's more sector exposure diversity within SCHG (last I looked), which I like.

      Your core should always be something like the S&P500 or the total market. Then you can complement with international, growth and/or value

    You where saying qqqm that top sector was not weighed as heavy schg, remember if you have the same pot of money divided by 250 holds it going to make the top holding less even if the the % is higher, qqqm has 100 holding divided by a smaller %. Schd may the same or less when doing the math.

    • @rick.austin
      @rick.austin 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If the top 10 have a total weight of 48% in QQQM and 57% of SCHG, if you buy $1,000 of QQQM you have $4,800 in the top ten, with SCHG $5,700. Regardless of how many other holdings are inside the two ETFs.

    Hi Rick. I have a question. How is the Vanguard FTSE All World high div yield ucits etf different from the ishares msci world quality Dividend esg ucits etf you have mentioned in a different video? Thank you! Greets from Germany

    • @rick.austin
      @rick.austin 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey there, well where to begin... The FTSE has 5 billions in assets, the MSCI little less than 1.The expense ratio, namely how much you pay every year on your ETF value, is 0,29% for the FTSE and 0,38% for the MSCI. The FTSE has around 2100 holdings, while the MSCI 200 (so FTSE is more diversified). The sectors are also a bit different. For example the MSCI's top sector is Tech with 31%, while by FTSE financials is the first. Current Dividend Yield is 3% by the FTSE and 2.5% by the MSCI. They are both good income ETFs, but I do believe that the FTSE has the best balance overall!

    I have a lot more than that and I'm watching anyway! EDIT: Ok, now having finished watching, I have to say you are spot on! I'm 55-years and have been investing since I was 25. For the first 20-ish years I was a casual ROTH IRA / 401K investor and thought I was doing the right things but wasn't really paying close attention. Fortunately when I was 25 a financial advisor told me about dollar cost averaging so I always maintained a monthly contribution, regardless of what the market was doing and that really helped offset the bad advice I had gotten about the need to be diversified. Diversification is great when you want wealth preservation but when you are in your accumulation years where risk is more tolerable because you have the time to recover from loss, I think diversification is a horrible idea. I'll explain why I think that way. About 10-years ago (after 20-years of investing) I decided to get serious and take a more active role in managing my assets. At that point I had $300K saved and my annual growth rate was 6.5%. That was a fully diversified portfolio of stocks, mutual funds, and bonds. I looked around and found a growth fund with the best 10-year rate of return I could find and dumped everything into that. My rate of return after that first year was over 30%. Today, 10-years later that $300K has grown to over $2M and my rate of return over the time has averaged 23%, though one year was as high as 52% while another was as low as -32%. Thing is, because I had time to weather the lows, and I stayed consistent with my contributions even when I was at that low of -32%, I'm in a much better position now because I was buying at a discount when the market was down. The way things are going I'm expecting to retire next year entirely financially independent. The advice you are giving is spot on, I learned it the hard way, and I wish I knew it when I was your age. You are doing a great service to whomever will listen.

    • @rick.austin

      Hi David, be advised that this is not to be seen as a portfolio, but as 7 good ETFs to choose from. That said, 5 years from retirement you should strongly consider bonds except if your portfolio is so high that 4% of it far exceeds your yearly expenses.

      @rick.austin 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey there, good of you to mention the WisdomTree ETF, it's actually a really good ETF if you check the composition and the fact that it mixes US dividend yielding companies with international ones. It would definitely deserve a place in a "best ETFs" list but because I wanted to have 7 I let it out. We'll see how it performs in the future, but given the composition it's solid and valid.

      Looking at investing from a total return and not only from dividend yield is the best way, kudos to you for getting that if you're new to investing like you say! Yes GGRG and FUSD has high total return because of their overweight in Information Technology. GGRG is not even 10 years old. If you are interested in Total Return, you might consider other ETFs than "income ETFs", though. Except if you want to receive the income for some particular reason (for instance because of age).

It is hardly surprising that the present market attitude is so negative. If we are to live in this economy, we are in dire need of assistance. Alright let me help you. First of all, forget bonds now. You don't need them now because you're still young (after 55-60 yo I would start with them). Feel free to comment here with the funds you found, so that I can check for you if they are correct. In Trade Republic, enter an ETF. Then scroll down right under the graph and "About" and you'll find "Share Price, Fund Size, Index, Holdings"... there you need to scroll right until you find the "Ticker". you can give me that information on the ETFs that you've found and I'll check if they are the right ones. Regarding the investment strategy, it really depends on your goal, experience and so on. Hit me up on my info email (info@rick-austin.com). I'll be happy to help.
