I believe the two, or better said one of the two (your choice) ia a MUST as the foundational index fund in a long term portfolio. And when it comes to index funds vs etfs, for long term index funds are a great choice. Only because of minimum investments it's easier for some people to start with etfs
I see that with the VOO ETF + a fixed income ETF and 1 international equity ETF, you will have greater control over the allocation of these funds over time, being able to increase the amount of fixed income securities according to your market knowledge , risk tolerance and age. As for TDFs, they are ideal for those who want greater practicality at the time of retirement, and can be used as a complement to the 3-Fund Portfolio. After that, I'm interested in the video talking about the new 3-Fund that has been beating the S&P500, showing its advantages and risks.
@@rick.austin Exactly, 8 yrs to retirement and i've been investing in non-TDF for the past 2 yrs and will continue until I retire. 85% in 2030 TDF and 15% in various stock ETFs at the moment.
So, what do you think about having vtsax and VFIAX in your long term portfolio?

I will definitely do that video! Thanks for your comment and you're on point
I wish I had seen this video years ago, my TDF has let me down vs the S&P500
Hi Jason, there's always time to correct 🤜

Nice video Rick.. but i prefer dividend ETF... Rather than Bonds
Hey John, thank you.
For dividend ETFs I suggest you then to create a 3 or 4 ETFs portfolio and adjust it to your needs with time!
So 500 all day. Target date funds garbage
Don't want to put it that way, but i do prefer S&P 500. Nevertheless they do give a lot of value to whom wants complete automation in investing
S&P 500 forever 😁😁
