I remade Lethal Company in 24 hours
The first 500 people to use my link skl.sh/gambit01251 will get a 1 month free trial of Skillshare!
Since I had a little free time, I tried my best to recreate Lethal Company in only 24 hours. I created a player, procedural generation, items, and a monster! Procedural generation was intimidating, but not nearly as hard as I thought. You'll also see some gameplay at the end :D
The total amount of development time I spent was about 15-16 hours. That's why I'm so exhausted lol.
Lethal Company was my favorite game in 2024, so this was a fun challenge to see how much I could recreate in only 24 hours!
Huge shoutout to @REE-Animation for the amazing UE5 procedural generation tutorial!

To try everything Brilliant has to offer-free-for a full 30 days, visit brilliant.org/Gambit/ . You’ll also get 20% off an annual premium subscription. I challenged myself to make a game in 10 minutes, 1 hour, and 1 day. I based these games off of my first ever game: SMASHTRONAUT. The improvement I've made in less than 6 months is pretty crazy. Is my 24 hour game better than my 2 week game? Wis...

Devlog 0: Actually Making a Cool Indie Game
2:26 bro was coding in minecraft enchanting table
I really like when the player is a skeleton, the background looks like how I would imagine what the skin would look like inside the body.
If you don't overscope are you even programming?
5:00 ngl Roblox studio is really good for starters you have health, movement and muliplayer build in and data saving is so easy to set up
Making a good game is most of the marketing cuz if ur game itself is meh people will just scroll past it,making money isn't a bad goal you just have to be realistic about it
I feel like the hardest part of being a game dev is actually making a fun game. Game design is really hard and not intuitive, right now what i'm doing to try and improve is remaking retro games and trying to create new mechanics in them. Like recreating snake from the old nokia phones and trying to add a new mechanic like having 2 snakes on screen or something like that.
the waffle flipping over reminds me of that game called I am Bread
4:54 what's the game called tho?
2:22 why is bro coding in wingdings
Honestly seems like a fun game you should expand it
how did you managed to remove rooms when they are overlapping please help me I can't figure out how to do it it's driving me crazy
FOr the last time its better to start hard then work your way up start easy then hard lol
Making salty salt
But they all have bots except one
Kinito-pet?
I like how some ideas you used are actually in something like Super Metroid: falling down a long shaft you can't get back up, or having the player choose between left and right.
Hey I’m new to this world of development I don’t know how to code or anything I wanted to learn c++ and learn the unreal engine too, not to make money but because I love video gaming a lot and I think it would be fun to make my own one day, it would be cool to make money from it but I just think it would be a really awesome hobby. Would you say I shouldn’t get into it? Or if I should where do you think I should start?
2:25 THIS HAS TO BE HARDER THAN BINARY CODE
So you made an io game?
I'm can't agree with some, like watching tutorials, is one of the best thing to do for learning tip from other. Marketing priority, it depend... So, to me it's clearly not a priority. Engine doesn't matter?! Yeah it does, and a lot. Some tips are just common sens, some other are none.
This is my least favorite type of person who just because something isn’t for them they tell everyone else they can’t do it
"Give up now" Bet
nice tips but just stop those thumbnail clickbaits. No one are falling for that anymore
Important: Don't make your dream game your first game. Make lots of really small games before going for anything bigger. You can also prototype mechanics from your dream game, or try making a game in a similar genre
2:25 me 8 hours into a game after noticing a debilitating flaw in my character's basic design
5:00 DO NOT. Those are the big 3 engines you should wait on when you are basically clueless
Very good idea
is it possible to make a mmo in C++in 1 min?
4:51 got me good
Oh my god I HAVE A HEART ATTACK GO LEARN FORM GRIFFIPATCH
If you're a 3d enviorment dev, alot of things you make even for those games you give up on can be reused.
I love your games! But that TV filter is not it
Instructions unclear, coded half life 3.
snails are NOT cute
LET'S GO!!! GODOT!!!
You should change the background to a red and white tablecloth
I wanna make a video game, but what I want doesn't matter. What should I do? What would you do if you were me?
This look really cool, sadly. This isn't on mobile phone, is it? I'm hoping for the mobile version. Anyways, i have a suggestion, where you make mechanic that force the player to enter their character name, and if they type one of your unimplemented character(which you could use in the future, or make new characters) name, they get to play a completely different character instead. With different ability and areas, of course, but it's up to you. English is not my language so i hope you understand what i'm saying :)
So funny
0:16 Bro just gave his password😂
what is the music that plays in the background at 1:38
Mine is better
you should change level layout when you switch dimension
massive?
I'M SOO FREAKIN EXCITED FOR THE STEAM RELEASEE
Honestly with writing good code comes organization practice so shortcuts as in writing less lines is best, utilizing classes, objects and decorators, typically the good coders will know how to read it saving the whole team time and plus it's organized. With experience or leetcode you shall know thy way of runtime lol. Never give up man. I trust that you will become great!
Can you put the link in the description
I have a suggestion instead of adding shadows in the sprite just make another sprite which had a oval shadow and set its y to the ground and do when green flag forever set x to x pls of balllon which will make a shadow on the ground
As a scratcher no hate also Bro why are u using repeat until none when u can use forever and bro Just add shadows in the sprite like ik it’s ur first time but that’s just common sense and the game could be more good with less work
As soon as I saw this video, I went to eat waffles
