Anyone who think Scottish football can’t survive without rangers and Celtic is sorely mistaken, the Scottish game would flourish crowds would go up, there is no doubt about it proper fans stay away from games involving rangers and Celtic these days
Rangers were regularly playing to 5,000 crowds during this time. Typical of the Glasgow football fan- the type whom only turn up when winning is so heavily stacked in their favour
Best era for Scottish football there’s ever been. The current monopoly was bred as a result of Aberdeen and Dundee Utd and the west coast utter distain and jealousy
There's a great video by HITC Sevens about the 1974 Zaire team. It definitely sheds some light on what was going on with the Zaire team and the reason they didn't perform against Yugoslavia.
One great programme about one great year. Hopefully one day the "New Firm" will come good again but you'd need inspirational managers like Alex & Jim and players of the calibre of McLeish, Miller, Strachan, Hegarty, Narey & Sturrock. Unlkely -- but we always live in hope, and remember those great times.
Do you have a video of the 1994 football years episode at all, can find every other one remember when they came out about 10 years ago. The 94 one was great, Duncan Ferguson, Fergus McCann and Raith Rovers
Caiu a qualidade.
Recordo a música "Mull Of Kentrye".
I remember this like it was yesterday. Although a united supporter it was great to see the glasgow stranglehold over scottish football starting to slip. Scotlands great shame on display for all to see. Sadly its never changed :( great sound tracks as well ;)
Aye, it brings back memories alright, but not necessarily positive ones. Memories of the school playground, where everyone supported Rangers for reasons which I know now were based around glory-hunting, subsequently getting involved in stupid slanging matches, nothing bad that you said about Rangers was very effective because they seemingly had a bottomless pit of money, and these glory hunters were lording it over everyone else, it wasn't much fun. Scottish football's way better when you're just a casual, part-time supporter, believe me.
You can not but help Brazil played for the draw against Scotland. They knew that Scotland would struggle against Yugoslavia and Brazil would demolish Zaire
I remember being 15 years old and shouting at celtic fans to stop booing Fergus McCann that day. I couldn't believe it.
The SAS assault on the Iranian embassy was 1980 …….did you put it in so it looked more dramatic? I stopped watching when I saw this.
I remeber when ch 4 showed this mid 90s I think Thought it was riveting. Now in 2024 seems sad too see so much hatred and divide
I remember an English version of this but cant find it anywhere
Peru Peru
Wait till the pigeons in 1978 Get amongst them in Argentina Peru , Peru
On paper both 1974 and1978 Scotland squads very good ,but they could not get to level needed in tournament football to reach next phase!
Jock Stein left Hibs to go to Celtic, not The Pars
Cosgrove is a verbose cretin
Scotland weren’t “cheated out of the 74 cup”, they just didn’t play well enough. I wish they would stop bleating
No mention of third lanark's demise.
Cheats, pure and simple.

A really magical time for Scottish football. It would be so awesome to see the Old Firm being challenged in this way once again.
Wow, i didn't realise Celtic won a quadruple..

And scottish football never recovered
The good old days! And Scotland are returning to Germany for the Euros, 50 years on this summer 😂🏴⚽️
Suart Cosgrove just loves the sound of his own voice. Clown!!
What both these sides were doing back then made the league so much more competitive. Just an amazing time to be a fan.
Corruption on a deep scale in the Scottish game still hasn't improved unfortunately

It's on archive.org
JAM Gers, Thanks for this game from Ibrox as Rangers take on a very dogged Hearts side. Robust game with strong tackling and collisions commonplace!

Alber kidd goals where amazing. But i picture in .my head trying to lift myself to get back into the game
Scotland beat a team that was no longer England's best line up, no big deal to be honest.
God help us if Rangers ever produce another Baxter, what a player he was.
