My channel is about hand engraving art; I'm a hand engraver artist who use methods of the past to decorate jewelry, knives, guns, motorcycle parts, and/or any metal art objects.
In the world of high tech with lots of engraved things are done with laser engraving, acid etching, stamping dies for mass produced art decoration, I choose freehand engraving method to transform a metal surface into a beautiful art in ways, hopefully that no great machine can equal.

Hand Engraving a Harley Davidson primary cover in scroll design. Engraving a big piece with different elevations and angles can be challenging sometimes. This piece has semi background relief. how do you get cuts like this on stainless my chisel just dulls out and chips
I use carbide, C-Max, or Carbalt graver. Wider angle makes the tip stronger.

I do custom work if all kinds mostly concrete and metal and I have been very interested in learning your trade .Here in San Luis Obispo co. there's no body that does engraving and I was wondering if you have a price per square.inch ? Or how ever you go about price .The last one was Gordon Hays a silversmith but he went away .
I charge by hour. So, whatever you want to make per hour and estimate how long a job would take you.

Thats truly awesome, congrats. Do you think that in the future this kind of job will disappear because of the the machines? Like Cad Cam ....? I really want to learn to hand engrave but I'm worried about the future of this job.

Hello did you strip the chrome and polish before engraving? Or did you engrave on top of the chrome?
