Again the manga and 1999 versions get this right. Killua holds and crushes the heart. But the 2011 version he uses the prisoner shirt and hold like a packages then places it on to the dead prisoner’s hand. So which is more sadistic.

The music made the scene.

The 1999 version of this fight gives me the chills. There's no better portrayal of Gon's character. The look in his eyes, the lighting, the music. It's scary how bright and innocent he is. That's why Hanzo looks so uncomfortable, despite being a trained shinobi. The characters can feel Gon's unwavering determination and we do too, as viewers. It makes this scene incredibly powerful to watch.

Nippon Animation hizo un mucho mejor trabajo al adaptar el primer Arco mas interesante con esas escenas de relleno necesario y con los flashbacks de Kurapika

I prefer 99 because of the interaction between Gon and Hisoka, both smiling and showing respect to each other, Hisoka is almost proud of Gon like his little brother !

I much prefer the overall darker tones, color, grit, and gore the original animation had. The remake is good in its own way, but feels way too lighthearted and colorful given the subject material.

This scene is so memorable in HunterXHunter. I clearly remember killua just really hold the hearts directly and crush it in 1999, and it is right, but in 2011 it will be so brutal, that's why they moderate it a bit. I love both version tho.

The atmosphere and overall direction of the 1999 version makes the 2011 version look so bland and dull in comparison.
