Sheng Wey PZ30 Carb Disassembly and Tuning - Haosen (RPS) Hawk 250
The main purpose of this video is to show you how to remove, disassemble, and reassemble this carburetor. If you have any questions regarding tuning (what jet you might need, etc...), please refer to the numerous videos on youtube. You will receive much more accurate information if you do your own research. I do not know a lot about carburetors so do not take everything said in this video as the truth. If there is any incorrect info, please let me know in the comments and I will edit the video.

    Back in 2019, I watched all of your videos on your experience at the HD Riding Academy. I live in the Philippines, so I went back to the states and completed the online MSF Course, and then 3 long days at the HD Riding Academy in Opelika, Alabama. Today, I am the proud owner of a 2016 HD Ultra Limited. Again, your videos helped me to pave this journey. What do you ride today? Thank you Brother!

    Recently purchased Hawk-250cc. I just wanna say thank you for your time, effort, and knowledge you put into this video. I'm technically a Noob in the dirtbike world, but I've built 2 from scratch with engine and frame being present and sold them and now I've put together this beautifully looking Hawk-250cc.... Anyways before arrival all the forums I read said WE couldn't SWITCH internal parts of Chinese/Japanese (not sure whichever but I'm not racist so I'll mention both 😅) stock carburetor😢!!! Then you came along and showed me the light🎉😂!!!! Keep up the good work, Peace and Blessings

    Hey what's up bro!? I messaged you about 5 years ago. I think it was in 2019. After watching all your videos many times, I went back to the states (Alabama) and signed up for the 3 day classes. I took the MSF course online first, took the certificate to the dealership and then we took the riders training in the Alabama heat in July. Well, it's been fun operating my 2003 motorcycle (rebuilt/customized) for the past four years. I owe you a lot of props for helping me out with your videos. I started late in riding, but at 77 years old retired US Marine I am having a great time here in the Philippines. Take care and stay safe.

    Nice video. If a person has an injury to their left foot, and cannot physically upshift because of it, why won't an examiner let them use a bike with a heel-toe shifter to pass the test????? Otherwise, they can NEVER - EVER ride a motorcycle in their lifetime on public roadways! Seems totally unfair to me!!!!!

    Dremel works good to slot the screws too. I had a dollar tree hacksaw, nope! Just have to find some replacement screws. Great video! Probably the clearest, and most in depth video on this carb. Definitely a thumbs up. Made me feel more confident in mine. But the idle is normal on these hawks. You pretty much have to warm them up, to idle at all. I'll be going to a stop sign, pull in the clutch, and hear some kid holler 'you stalled it!' Like no you 16 year old little crap. The Chinese don't like the cold.

    Quick question. I am new to motorcycles and I am considering taking this course. Do they keep you in first gear through the entirety of the training? With all of the weaving and turning i'm sure, but just curious.

    • @TexasMoto
      @TexasMoto 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The majority of the course is done in first. They will go over shifting at some point but there isn't enough room to get passed second. There is a chance you might shift to third briefly but I'd say 95% of the course is in first.

  • @Shaded
    @Shaded 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    great vid! helped me out a lot on my PZ30 carb, I seem to have a newer model because instead of tampering screws I have regular ones, also the mixture screw is much more easy accessable. I seem to run a bit rich, exhaust popping wildly while decelerating. Turning it clockwise is adjusting it to be more lean right? Because I hear not every carb has the same turning direction..

    • @TexasMoto
      @TexasMoto 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They may have made changes based on customer feedback? It's been so long I honestly couldn't tell you. Each carb (assuming the same brand and model) will be the same. Obviously, different carbs may not be. I would think a mixture screw is pretty universal in the way it works so they should be the same.

    • @TexasMoto
      @TexasMoto 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes and no. If you stay in, say fifth gear gear, they might bind up when downshifting once stopped. So, in my experience, it's smart to downshift as you're coming to a stop. However, I have forgotten to downshift and shifted to first from third at a light without issue. Don't forget, you need to be in first to take off again so why wouldn't you shift down to first? You could also drop it in neutral if you'd prefer that.
