Brettonia has aged like milk; like as a faction they're basically all about Knights on horseback and so you'd natually want to rush for them but the problem with that is that you can't credibly start fielding them for awhile between you're poopy economy and the fact you don't start with access to them unless you're playing as repanse. So of course you want to go for peasants but uh oh you can't have too many of them or you're going to eat Econ penalties. And the best part is, that until you're a ways down the chivalry meter, any new lords you unlock are going to have to go through a whole bunch of nonsense to unlock their vows and start field knights. And like, these systems were frustrating and slowed down your growth a lot back in WH1 but it was more or less fine back then since the overall pace of that game was slower and you could afford to spend 20 turns spanking armies of orcs as they spawned in. Now though? In 2024? Their mechanics cripple the hell out of them relative to other factions which come online real fast and get real vicious.

I remember the final mission for IG+Eldars where, for some reasons, resource generatem much slower? Like I could get (for example) +93 to Requisition, but it generated way slower, like it was 2-4 time less than that... That was retail release, maybe Steam is different? Should return to beat Chaos+Orks some day, but backlog...

Bretonnia being a mixed of France and Arthurian Great Britain while Albion being the old England with ritual, druid and things like that? Strange but hey i'm not here to judge. I mean, their cities, name and part of chivalry are french, Repance is Joan of arc heck she is called Jeanne de Lyonnesse in the French version of the game but well they never had "the lady", MORGIANA fay enchantress or other part of those chivalry.

i have yet too see someone do a "One Province only" with the vampire pirate coast factions. Sartosa with zombie pirates only is pretty fun. Or Sartosa with Sartosa only millitia and the Sartosa Free Company

I love bretonnia, i know their whole gimmick is only horse but god i Wish they would have at least something like sergeants

I love Bretonnia and its annoying that CA has a love boner for the Empire but leaves Bretonnia in the dust. Playing it with Lily's mod is the only way right now

Fun fact : Bretonnia is the only faction that you have for free, every content regarding Bretonianns is free since the beggining. And no other faction has that.

If you know what are you dealing with then Bretonnia is some what good and you can even try to do only peasent campaing. If you don't know then you are in big trouble but you can still manage becouse cavalary. And then there is me "The Crackhead" jumping head first into the first ever bretonnia campaing on max dificulty using only peasents becouse f*** cavalary. You can guees how it ended.

I really liked Dawn of War 2; yeah it was different from Warcraft/Starcraft because there were no buildings but it was ahead of its time really, like playing a MOBA with multiple characters at once. All the negative reviews I saw were "RTS has buildings!!" but I had played that AvP RTS that I think was made by these same devs and it was the same way and wasn't just looking for another Blizzard clone. It was my first foray into the 40k franchise and it was good enough to really pull me in.

I love Bretonia! Seeing my cavalry act like a roomba on the battlefield before loosing the battle allows me to reach a peak emotionnal instability that I can’t get otherwise😂 It’s like a bipolar disorder that I can trigger at will!

Nothing hits like guardsmen, space marines and orks stuck in melee

I like playing bretonnia and is a faction with tons of cheese and wine. Hell Rapanse campaign is one of the easiest on WH3

Fun fact in case you want to do it again, "gr" works to give region using the cheat mod. You don't have to type in "give region" as you must have done hundreds of times.

Space Marine 1 and 2 beat tf out of this rts crap.

Technically Space Marine 2 is now the best w40k game, but DoW is a classic no doubt. But the good stuff comes with Soulstorm and multiplayer really

Pro tip: If you want much higher difficulty, follow the instructions to sit and wait in mission 3. Eventually they start sending lots of looted tanks and blasting your troops to oblivion making the mission almost impossible. Or ignore the instructions to sit tight and push aggressively forwards, which is a far more effective strategy…

DoW 1 is great, good mods too. DoW 2 is decent, the biggest maps take about a minute to walk diagonally corner to corner by the slowest unit. DoW 3 never happened. Doesn't exist. Never heard of it. If you say otherwise then get censored by the sword.
