    Hi, thank you for your videos. I watched the entire series 1-8. Great videos. I’m having timing trouble with my 2006 Mercedes Benz e350 wagon that I bought since 2021 but couldn’t use it because of timing issues. After diagnostic I found this two codes There are 2 issues for Power system: 1.Constant adjustment of intake camshaft of right cylinder bank in direction 'Retarded'(P0016) 2. Constant adjustment of exhaust camshaft of right cylinder bank in direction 'Retarded'(P0017) When I clear the codes they disappeared and reappeared when I scan again. I kind of learned from your videos that I don’t have to take down the engine to fix it which l’m really excited about. Could you please advise how I’m going to fix this? Thank you!

      @@baba_2072 Hello, I would check 1. The live data while the engine is running and see if your camshaft solenoid and cam sensors on the right side are behaving just like the left side. 2. Remove the sensors and turn the engine to 305 degrees and see if the inscriptions line up (Part 1). I would start with that.

    Thanks for the video series, I did this job a couple weeks ago, put the engine back in and its leaking engine oil from between the engine/transmission. Sadly im thinking its from the rear main seal, I am pretty sure we went off the diagram and put the gasket maker on correctly. Any tips or Ideas on how to go about this leak? seems it will be an engine out again for us :/

      If you want to go straight to the point, remove the cam sensors and turn your engine to 305 degrees on the harmonic balancer and see if your timing is good. This engine is plagued with timing issues so I would check that first before I do anything major. It may not even be that serious. I know they even had "recalls" with the camshaft adjusting solenoids.

    Hi, Can you help me with this question, please? 2008 ML350, M272 Engine, W164, I was replacing the Cam Adjuster when the chain jumped and I had to take the timing cover off to time the chain. I have to take both lower and upper oil pans out to put the cover back on. I did take out the lower pan but to remove the UPPER pan it looks like I need to lift the engine, My question is: To lift the engine, is it removing the engine mount bolts, Torque convertor bolts, and unbutton the engine from the trans or is there something else to it? Does the transmission neeeds support when lifting the engine? Thank you for your time.

    • @Mikeoscope
      @Mikeoscope 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Smudg To remove the engine only, you only need to remove the 2 bolts that fasten the engine to the engine mount. After that, you can just remove the transmission to engine bolts. You won’t need to worry about the torque converter because it will be bolted to the engine when you pull the engine. Another option. If you have help, you could also pull the entire assembly from the front of the vehicle. Engine plus transmission. This way you won’t have to fight the transmission to get the engine back in later. The only downside is that you will likely have to remove your radiator and front grille to make room to pull the entire assembly out. No, the transmission does not need support. There is a bracket that supports the transmission and transfer case assembly. I hope this helps.

    • @Mikeoscope
      @Mikeoscope 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Smudg Not according to Mercedes Benz. You will only be removing the bottom bolts that the go from the transmission to the upper oil pan and the rest of the bolts will be intact so the transmission will still be supported by whatever is supporting the engine. Placing additional support underneath the transmission would not hurt but not necessary.
