Why are those jigs the same weight (smaller) than the riproller? WCJ at 350g is (example) 5”. The riproller is 7”(example only I haven’t done a measurement) ?

I like spj but looks like the traditional fishing methods work better or the same sometimes. Say this with experience fishing spj. I've been forcing myself to take at least one spj setup with me on trips and use it. Maybe because our waters are not as pressured. We also stopped fishing deep for rockfish for a while because of regulations. Now that is open again but electric reels seem to be the thing for that fishing.

Re-entering the harbor was fun huh guys? I was in the head and missed the message to go into the galley lol. I went years ago when the 2 day trip included a steak dinner the first evening. The second day fishing we were about 1/2 mile off the coast looking at Hearst’s Castle. We were allowed to catch 2 day limits in one day. We were using bait we caught the night we got there(perch). Get your group together and drive to San Quintin Baja California. If you like to drop or throw iron your group will love it there. If you can drive 4 hours to fish there you can drive 5 hours to San Quintin.
