I like Yume Nikki.
Yume Nikki but it's a survival / sandbox game or something like that
I've had this silly idea for a Minecraft / Dwarf Fortress style game with Yume Nikki's FC World aesthetic for a while, and one day I got the urge to see how it would play out. I wasn't planning on giving it much time because initially it was just an experiment, but it ended up being my goto project during the past month's weekends.

Looks like it's over, isn't it? But that's not true, because... the dream... the dream never ends. This video was recorded after Eloy's stream, so I already knew where to find the two last effects. All the other ones were recorded before publishing the version.

odd to see 2 new old world.
When i install the game every file is named with strange characters, like ajááaváxávásá, and i can't play it, even with locale emulator, easyrpg and wih the archives from imgurl in my rpg2003 folder, i think it's because that. When i try to enter a display windows says "Can't find System folder". (I think, i just used google traductor)

wait, in the 10:05, that place with the beds, that is now in the number door, that exact place is in the infamous Dream Diary version, we all know the devs claimed to be in contact with kikiyama to make the game, now this makes me more curious if that was really true or just the devs had the luck to have the early builds of the game
The CEO of Playism is friends with Kikiyama. That's how Playism got the rights to publish YN on Steam and create Dream Diary.

Muchas gracias por subir estos videos, son documentacion importante y es fascinante notar las diferencias. Mi primera vez jugando Yume Nikki fue en 2012, pero termine de jugarlo nuevamente y tenia una curiosidad de saber mas sobre la historia y versiones anteriores. (Yo vi tus videos de 0.04 tambien) Espero que algun dia se descubra mas. Este juego es realmente especial. Siempre me reia cada vez que obtenias un nuevo Effect o estabas tratando de encontrar el cuchillo y tenias que revisar todos los Effects en el menu para usarlos, ja ja

Hy.I downloaded the game for having fun for myself but i ran into problems. 1.The game didn't start I installed a Japanese letter character set so everything good to go but boom.No luck. 2.I miss some RPG MAKER files.i installed RTP2003.Still nothing. I merged the RTP files to the game's files and did some thing that website suggested and the game started.But everytime I open the game it showes an error. I tried with a Win XP machine as well but no luck there.

@@GatoBot Sadly it doesn't work. It keeps asking me for this file: "システム２C" I already pasted where it should be. I retried 3 times and no. At least the languange problem is gone. I'm still gonna try on my Win XP machine.

There was a rip off of Lisa and it had a problem.When an event occured it crashed because it didn't had a file for blood. So a TH-camr who reviewed it made something in GIMP and named it after what's missing. So.What I did was copied a certain file and named it "乗り物". It is not a used file.The game just needs one to function so it can be anything. So I named to copied file to this and bam. All works. Thanks to you I can explore Madosuki's dream world on my own. I"ll make a tutorial video about this so everybody can enjoy this masterpiece. I"ll give you a credit in the video.
It’s amazing a patch this early was discovered! It looks so different. Makes me wonder what earlier versions are like. It’s a pity they’re still lost.

I think the fat effect is how Madotsuki sees herself when she looks at her reflection. Which is why you obtain the fat effect by interacting with a mirror. Madotsuki is self-conscious about her appearance :(

Kikiyama ya tenía en mente casi todo lo que sería el concepto del juego. No me extrañaría que la 0.0 tuviera ya muchas de las cosas que aparecen en la última versión.
Se nota que es una versión temprana, esta mas desordenado que la 0.06 y hasta le faltan unas cosillas.

Here we go again. Mural World has a different entrance to Sewers. The last western sewers room does not exist, so the Nopperabou is in the second-to-last room, which connects to the other side of the Pain Blob. Windmill World has no parallax background. The Docks stairs lead to Mall. Red menu theme seems to not exist. Mall entrance is different and the inside is simpler. A random Nenrikido in Puddle World. (it doesn't connect to hell, though.) Poop Hair effect is in Mural World with the other 2 hair effects. Sewers entrance for the Docks isn't an entrance.
Alright, time to put my YN knowledge to use. Shield-Folk World connects to Checkered Tile Path. Checkered Tile Path connects to Number World. Mafurako is located in Checkered Tile Path. (and she walks downwards forever) She will teleport you to the White Desert entrance, but it actually leads to... ...A bridge in the Block World that leads to a bed and triggers an event. Candle World connects to the Docks. Candle World connects to Hell. Mural World connects to Dense Woods It seems like you can't open the hole in Shitai-San area, at least I couldn't find a way to achieve this. Puddle World still connects to Dense Woods, just a different entrance. Forest World connects directly to Hell. The Fat effect is found in Hell from the fun house mirror. Hell does not connect to the Docks. P.S. The eyeballs still change sprites in 0.10.
Differences I found: TV channel shows a red pattern. Number World's map is extremely different. However, there still is a bedroom. Number World has different music. Sounds like a mix between Dream Room and Onsen-san but it might be one or the other. I can't tell. The Footprint Path connects Number World and Neon World. Neon World's map is much more open. Neon World connects to Guillotine World. The Severed Head effect apparently doesn't exist. Checked Tile Path now has Shield-Folk as music. Graffiti World is more simplistic. Graffiti World connects to Neon Tile Path. Neon Tile Path connects to Hell's Crossroads. Hell's Crossroads is slightly simpler. Hell's Crossroads connects to Hell and Eyeball World. Eyeball World is a bit different. Block World connects to Neon Tile Path. White Desert's main entrance isn't monochrome. Snow World connects to Face Carpet Plaza. Face Carpet Plaza connects to Dark World. Dark World has no markings on the ground. (great, i can get even more lost...) Wilderness is different. The Buyo Buyo effect is located in the Barracks Settlement. (why did you take so long to interact with it????) And that's all. See you in part 2....

Holy shit, they used that bedroom in the new Yume Nikki game! I suppose they did use some ideas from Kikiyama that weren't in the final version of the original game.
Yeah, that's actually the part of YN:DD that impressed me the most. I really didn't expect to see a reference to such an old world in it.
