Talking to someone with Parkinsons Disease who's not letting it be an impediment
Visting my friend Bonnie who's in a senior assisted living facility in the Bay Area, I met some of the residence there. One of them was Amy, who was relatively young but had Parkinsons. Sharp as a whip and communicated as best she could. It was difficult trying to decipher what she was trying to convey at time because she spoke softly and couldn't formulate words properly but was so anxious to share her knowledge. She loved Flamenco music and even got up to dance as best she could. She wore slip on tennis shoes with no shoelaces, pants and a lose t-shirt. She'd fall down and get herself up. Didn't like help but I laid in on her that she needs to allow people to help her up. When she bangs her knees up enough times, they won't function, and she'll be in horrible pain often.
In the book of James chapter 1 verse 27 has something to say about this, but no religion needs to be spoken in the care for those in need.
Always interesting to get out and about and meet with people of all walks of life. Especially the afflicted.
