- I think we can all have a laugh.
Made a little video of a gentleman in line at the bank who was playing some video game with his phone. He was like a big kid happy and content just living a simple life with a moment of joy. He may have been on the spectrum or some guy who's family said "ok, he ain't all there, but he's a good boy!". I was happy for the guy.
The lady in front of him and I just giggled for one another while having to deal with this stupid frustration with Bank of America for 30 years. My birth name is Pavel but the name the school administrators gave me when I first came to the country as an immigrant kid was Paul. So I went by Paul. Up until 1995 shortly after my mother passed away, I wanted to honor her with the name she gave me and I was preparing myself for all the hassles many Americans would have who couldn't pronounce my name. It's a conversation starter with many people, so here I am. Odd story, my father had quirky penmanship, but what an absolutely decent man he was. He would write the let "P" with a big circle and a line down the bottom. It looked like the capital letter "Q". On my original social security card, they had my name as Quavel. Somebody there thought, "Oh, a Q? You can't have a Q unless there's a U following the Q." So they unilaterally added letters to my name without even asking for correct verification. Get that Mr. Quavel. lol
But, when I opened my BofA bank account, they used my then drivers license that had my Americanized name of Paul. In 1995, BofA wouldn't allow me to change my ID name on my bank account because of the original license name was Paul. But, I showed them my passport with Pavel as my given name alongside my drivers license with my Pavel name updated. Explained that it was the same name like Spanish for Pablo, or Italian like Paolo. The rep said they couldn't change it but compromised by adding Paul aka Pavel. Was that good enough? No.....so for 30 years, I wasn't able to access my account without a government ID that had me as Paul. I went to two BofA banks today. One lady allowed me to withdraw $1,000 which I deposited in my Chase Bank account down the street, but that was it. So I got a hunkering idea. Go through the garage, go to my box of important papers and find a school ID or some documents or anything with my name as Paul that had my photo on there. I found old newspaper clipping from 30 plus years ago, I found my university diploma and I found my old passport with Paul. Aha. So, I'll gather these items including my Serbian passport as well (I'm a dual citizen) that has my name in English and Cyrillic. They wanted a copy of my birth certificate that's exclusively in Cyrillic. They can't read that, nor I. I have a hard time reading in English already.I collect 4 passports (2 expired) 2 dual, and my college diploma with my names on all of them. 2 with Paul, 3 with Pavel. Good enough? So, I arrive to the second BofA situated on a busy street in town right before I see some lanky, fully grey bearded guy in a quirky hat and mid length blue jeans running across the street avoiding traffic. I thought, "this dude's gonna get hit, what the heck!" I make a U turn and signal to drive into the bank parking lot as this guy is hoppity skipping in front of me. I giggled a little, but glad he was okay. He walks into the bank and I park and find myself standing right behind him. He's got his phone out and playing some kind of video game. Loudly...but he was happy lol. It was infectious and it took my mind off the hassle of what I was dealing with the monolith impersonal financial bank that has both my names as the holder of the bank account and yet, I can't get access to my money. This has been going on for 30 years. But this dude was cracking me up...and I was happy for him. Me and the lady in front of him just kept giggling. I said to her, "happiness is great". She agreed. The guy ended up chatting with the bank teller and he was just a giddy kid. Loved it. Did I solve the problem? NO.....they wanted me to set and appointment with the manager sometime next week to discuss the issue. The issue of a bank account holder with two names, two IDs with both names......names that mean the same, but that I don't have a drivers license from 30 years ago.Update, when I got home, I made a call to a customer service rep. Some sweet black lady from Alabama who was kind and gentle and charming as Southern black lady folk can be. I'm getting an updated ATM card. Once that happens, then I can close the account.
I can then get a double scoop of ice cream as a celebration. Rocky Road and Chocolate Chip. I'm going to think of that guy and his video game on his phone.
I'll be happy.
Love it! ❤✌
😂
such things keep us young in mind and spirit just like music...i love listening to the 80's.
@@GhostAdventuresOfCornwall amen. Truly watching people be happy is a joyous celebration
Ciao bono ti mando un saluto dall' ombelico del mondo cioè Roma... Alessandro. Sei troppo simpatico ❤❤❤❤❤❤
PLEASE WHY ARENT MORE PEOPLE LIKE THIS :( no one wants to laugh or be happy anymore
@Msillybilly the world is filled with a lot of dynamics with a lot of moving parts. For a great many people play vacillate a lot of mental preoccupation. Everyone's got a battle but letting go of them even temporarily is key
Hi bono!!!!! I dream with you and the band from several times!!! Uffff...greetings from tampico- madero.mexico.
@@AlfreValde hello to you. I am afraid that I'm not Bono but I am an impersonator as Bono
Poi puoi entrare.
Ah, the 80s and 90s were a better time with less complicated ID rules... and loosey-goosey school documentation rules...
Oh, everything was so much easier then. We are moving way too fast for my liking.
@ amen!
@@PyraDraculea but watching this guy be happy was great

Funny or die
