Motorcycle adventures in the PNW
Lion Rock, WA
A street ride turned into some easy off roading, which turned into some of the hardest stuff I've done yet. Slightly disconcerting when wearing soft and squidgy street boots, but felt good to have done it.

First Flying Lesson (drone)

First time flying a drone so more concerned about not crashing into a tree than cinematography, but it's a gorgeous area so still some nice shots.

Of Mice and Men

The best laid plans had to be discarded as we routed on the fly around multiple wild fires in the Cascades, WA. Riding from Seattle over to Lake Chelan and then north to Slate Peak, the highest road in Washington. All drone footage was over National Forest land and cleared by Ranger.

Fandango Canyon, Oregon
Included in the new Oregon BDR, Fandango Canyon is remote and rocky. In this video I am heading south.
Music suits the mood of the video! Great job! 👍👍👍👏👏👏💪💪💪
Music was chosen because of the grief Jeff's son was giving him. I'm going to call him Dangerman Jeff from now on😆
sound is so low couldn't hear it on my phone at work (bus noise) but can hear it at home with headphones on. Looks like fun but then i'm a dirt guy :P
No sound?
There is sound. No music, just engines and rocks banging metal :)
Looks like fun! I'm up here until 25th, but still riding the Honda shadow..lol
Oh my, looks very rocky!!!
Perfect imagery, music & flying. Love from Scotland.
Ian, gorgeouss ~have a great day- =))
You actually have a great potential!
Awesome, looks like an epic ride.
It was!
Unnerving but quality. Love from Scotland.
nice footage! We're doing a video on the best Oregon roads. Could we use a few seconds of this footage and give you a credit link?
Sure. If you need raw footage without music let me know, though original sound is just wind noise
@@yagian right on, we’ll keep in touch. Thank you!
Great cinematography! 🤩
Awesome video, awesome spot! Great work!🙌
what was the original 1080 sensor size Ian. A 1/2.3 1080 would be destroyed pushed to 4k .. but a gopro 1/1.9 can be upscaled to an acceptable 4k using bi cubic scaling. the lighting on this scene is definately hdr
This footage is 7 years old and was shot on an old Contour Roam 2. All I know is that the footage on my laptop is good quality but TH-cam destroys it after upload. I publish my movies with iMovie so my format options are very limited, but I can force that to output in 4K. This TH-cam version is looking a lot better than the original upload th-cam.com/video/X3Pf2OmsnvA/w-d-xo.html My recent videos shot in 4K are so much better, but they chew through memory cards very quickly
@@yagian yes the original upload is using the avc1 codec delivery by Yutube. Another way of forcing the h264 you tube compression algorithm at vp09 codec is to upload in apple pro res ( .MOV ) instead of mp4 also upload at 150k bit rate.. This is called overkill upload. I see you have the vp 09 codec in stats for nerds on the new upload :)) . I find this overkill method returns exactly the same wuality as is visible on the original footage viewed. Try a free download of davinci resolve editing suite, The project setting page gives a huge menu of options for processing. then go straight to the upload page. Yes 4k gobbles memory and battery. I tend to record at 2k. 50 on travel sections. then switch to 4k at breath taking sections.. Upscaling the 2k footage in post later. Those twisties on such days with buddies deserve the best delivery possible. your 4k latest vids are sweet . The dalles forest section in both :)) . keep those vids coming sir.. the music choices are great 😎💯🎧🎵📽🎬
This motorcycle journey was ABSOLUTELY breathtaking. I developed the plan 2 weeks ago to make a trip like this myself in the summer of 2025. Would be great if I could get in contact with you or something.
Glad you liked the video. I put a lot of the details on my trip in the description
Awesome I remember our ride fondly back in the day to Dalles. Beautiful ride!❤❤❤
Maryhill, that brings back memories of the windsurfing days! Love that area!
Looks like magic weather to be out riding, canny say the same for Scotland at the moment. Cheers for the video.
The heated grips were on!! I love summer in Scotland. It's the best day of the year 😉
Yer not wrong there, not sure we even got that magical day last year but still out riding, love it, cheers.
I also rode this route in 2022. Beautiful views. Tight turns on granite cubes, very dangerous when wet.
You had a wee bit of a Pamplona moment at Bucks Pass. All good, love from Scotland.
It was a big Pamplona moment. Took forever to get past them. Might post the full video later
Life on a Northern Road
😂
Where were you on the Wagon Road?
Going back a long time here but we joined it somewhere around Harpster and took it all the way to Elk City.
@@yagian Thanks!
Moltto bella ❤
Weiterhin gute Fahrt!
Amazing trip, impressive photography, I enjoyed watching guys.
aye I live here.
Lindísimo para recorrerlo
Val Taleggio is indeed one of my favourite roads actually. Scenery and twisty street, very less traffic. As good as Passo San Marco…
Video 5 is mainly swiss part of Spluegenpass (german) and the upper part of italian „Passo della Spluga“. Video 6 is upper and lower part of italian side. Both going south.
Magical of Dolomites
What an awesome road! Thanks for showing, you probably don´t wanna fall down there...;-)
I think my eyes were glued on the mountain side the whole way!
Not for SUV's😮😅
What a nice ride
What month of the year? (Looks like spring ~ summer, but still some snow here and there...)
May
i liked, smooth ride

Music: 👍👍👍😃😃😃❤❤❤ The view: 😱😱😱😬😬😬😵💫😵💫😵💫 Glad you made it through!!! 😅
Great scenery! 😃😄😇 Other drivers & riders are kind and have nice manners, too! Great job on editing, and as always, Grade A+ to your choice of music!!👍👍
As always, great choice on the music! And Croatian coastline is just really beautiful! :)

Ian, here you are going south (the more interesting side) towards Chiavenna, yet in the other video you are going north towards the town of Splügen. Did you go over it twice?
No, we just did it once heading south from Switzerland into Italy. The other video must've been misleading as we were going south. In this section it felt like we were rappelling down the mountain, quite an incredible feat of engineering. Spoiled somewhat by a car that I couldn't get past in the short blind straights 😠
You must have gone later in the year, that or the previous winter was not as bad. I was there June 6th and the tunnels through the mountain near the top were completely filled with snow. I made it this far (thanks to GPS tracking) N46 26.124 E013 37.477. I guess after coming down Vrsic Pass you went through Log Pod Mangartom to Mangart and back down to Predil Pass and Passo di Nevea. The memories! I might give Mangart a try again this year, its been 13 years.
We were there mid July. There were baking temperatures just before and just after our trip so we lucked out with the weather. I had no idea what to expect from Slovenia and really loved it. Even Lake Bled wasn't as crazy with tourists as I'd heard about, though I think they were all up on Vrsic Pass. That was probably the busiest mountain we saw but it was a Saturday that we crossed it.
Ian, if you ever get back there, if you continue where your video ends to the top (Pian della Fugazze) and down to the twisty part at Ponte Verde, take the cart path to Posina. When you get there, take a sharp left on SP81 which continues as the SP138 and head over Passo dello Borcola to Piazza. That road is usually free of cars. Also the SP219 from just past Raossi on the SS46 to the bar at the pass on the SS46 is nice. It runs by a lake and dam.
Good to know. It felt like there were no bad roads out there and in hindsight, I'd probably have had more fun sticking to that area instead of heading down to Croatia. However I'd never been to Croatia so wanted to go see the famous coast road. I think Croatia/Albania/Romania would be a trip by itself. Now to just win the lottery
