Hi there, and welcome to 12 & 60. Here you can find articles and reviews on all things wristwatch. I mean, that’s why you’re here right?
I started this site because I'm an ordinary guy with an inexplicable passion for watches, and I wanted to offer something that would help other people looking to find out more about what's out there in the world of horology. Like most of us, my budget is strictly in the "affordable" category, so most of my articles will focus on wristwatches in that range, both new and sometimes vintage.
So have a browse of the site and read a few articles, follow me on Instagram for some cool watch pics, and subscribe for updates on new pieces!

The Waldhoff Multimatic II – It’s Complicated…
In a previous review, I said that it can be quite tricky to design a minimalist watch. Well, the same is true for watches that are the exact opposite and which have a ton of features. It can obviously be very difficult to balance a lot of complications without making the dial too cluttered. But Waldhoff has attempted to do just that with their Multimatic II. It’s a dressy automatic watch that’s available in several colours. The sample I have here is the Emerald version, and it retails for $789.

The Best 5 Field Watches - Including The Watch Worn By The SAS!
มุมมอง 77K2 ปีที่แล้ว
If there's one thing a watch collector needs, it's a decent tool watch. Something that they can wear outdoors when hiking, or just doing manual labour. The obvious choice for such a watch is a classic field watch, after all, that’s exactly what they were designed for. So, I thought I’d put together a list of some of my favourite field watches currently on the market. Most field watches were ori...

The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition - James Bond's Best Watch Yet
มุมมอง 22K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Hands-on review of the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition 210.90.42.20.01.001, the watch worn by James Bond (Daniel Craig) In No Time To Die. With each new Bond film comes a new Omega strapped to 007’s wrist. For No Time To Die Omega released a titanium version of the Seamaster Diver 300m. Daniel Craig himself supposedly had input on the design, which was based on the idea of making a watch...
The Iota GMT Collection - Minimalism Done Right
มุมมอง 4892 ปีที่แล้ว
It’s a tricky thing to design a minimalist watch. And that’s because the fewer elements there are in a design, the harder it is to make them interesting and original. In fact, it’s more likely that a minimalist design will look cheap and boring. But I think that the watches I’m looking at today manage to pull it off rather well. They’re the GMT collection from Iota, a microbrand that combines B...
The Christopher Ward C65 Sandhurst Series 2 - A Ridiculously Good Watch!
มุมมอง 34K2 ปีที่แล้ว
When it comes to field watches, the devil is in the details. The design language of these military-inspired pieces tends to be very rigid, which leaves little room for variation when it comes to designing your own. Back in 2019, Christopher Ward launched their own field watch called the Sandhurst, as part of its military collection. Approved by the British Ministry of Defence, the C65 Sandhurst...
The Seiko Prospex SPB317J1 1968 Turtle Reinterpretation - The Quintessential Seiko Dive Watch
มุมมอง 34K2 ปีที่แล้ว
For the past couple of years, Seiko has been really focussed on reissuing some of its most iconic dive watches. Which is by no means a bad thing, because it gives us a chance to own some of their best designs with all the benefits of modern manufacturing techniques. The latest watch to be reissued, or reinterpreted as Seiko prefers to say, is their 6105-8000 “Turtle”. This was only the second d...
The Tudor Pelagos 39 - The Tudor Sub We’ve All Been Waiting For
มุมมอง 29K2 ปีที่แล้ว
For years now fans of Tudor have been hoping that the brand would make an updated version of their Snowflake Submariner, and I’ll be honest I didn’t think it would ever happen. But it’s exactly what we’ve got with the new Pelagos 39. The newest entry into the Pelagos range hits all the right notes, and as a result, it’s got Tudor’s fans well and truly excited. In this video, we provide a full i...
I Finally Found The Best G-Shock For Me! - The Casio G-Shock GW-5000U
มุมมอง 175K2 ปีที่แล้ว
I don’t think I really need to elaborate on the statement that if you need a real beater watch, then get a G-Shock. Since the first G-Shock was launched in 1983, the brand has become the go-to choice for anyone after a nearly indestructible watch. I’ve owned two G-Shocks over the past few years, one was a 5600 variant, and the other was a 5610, both with a negative display. Which is one of the ...
This is Hamilton’s Best Field Watch - The Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer Mechanical
มุมมอง 22K2 ปีที่แล้ว
A little while ago I reviewed what is probably the most popular field watch on the market, the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical. Whilst it’s a great watch in many ways, it didn’t quite hit the spot for me, and that’s because, to be honest, I found it a bit dull. I know that’s kind of the point of a field watch, but I’m no soldier stuck in the Vietnamese jungle. I’m a watch geek who wants a field...
The Nezumi Voiture VM1S - A Perfect Blend Of Modern And Retro Style
มุมมอง 3K2 ปีที่แล้ว
You can purchase the Voiture from Nezumi's website here: www.nezumistudios.com/nezumi-watches/voiture-vm1s/ One of the nicest experiences for a watch nerd is discovering a new brand, and recently I’ve had the pleasure to discover Nezumi. The Swedish brand has existed since 2011, and originally focussed on clothing before launching its first watch in 2015. With the brand having been producing wa...
The Avi-8 Hawker Hurricane Clowes Automatic - An Exceptionally Contemporary Pilot’s Watch
มุมมอง 1.7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
You can purchase the Clowes from Spinnaker's site here: avi-8.co.uk/pages/hurricane-clowes As I said in my recent review of the Laco Flieger Pro, the problem I have with pilot’s watches is that they all look alike. Well, Avi-8’s latest watch is looking to change that. It’s called the Hawker Hurricane Clowes Automatic, and as the name suggests it honours fighter ace Arthur Clowes. Clowes served ...
The Spinnaker Spence 300 - Is It The Thinnest Affordable Dive Watch?
มุมมอง 7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
One of the most important things to consider when buying a watch is wearability. It doesn’t matter how nice a watch looks, if it’s not comfortable to wear then we probably aren’t going to buy it. A watch’s thickness plays a big part in that comfort, which is why Spinnaker’s latest dive watch is its thinnest yet. The new model is called the Spence and it’s a mere 10.9mm thick, which makes it one...

It's one of the most perfect watches you can get. Adjustable volume for the alarm and it will be even better
can we install the saphir caseback of the "c65 dune" on this c65 sandhurst?
It's a pretty watch
My friend got one of these last week. He thought it was counterfeit, the bezel and chapter ring markers all lined up..
belle qualité d'images ! 🤗 si tu peux me dire ce que tu as utilisé ? par curiosité..
Got my 5000u four days ago. Couldn't be happier.
Seiko king turtle blows this away. In my opinion
Ok 3d lume plot like the bb pro makes sense. I agree
Your picks are all small. Anything smaller than 40 mm looks like a toy watch in my wrist
You have to embrace the watch for what it is. A tool watch, discreet, not in the way of getting physical activities done. If that's not for you then don't blame the companies for getting the watches right by making them small.
A question for owners out there. I know the bracelet, at the clasp, has one rigid link which, I have heard, may make the bracelet jut out from your wrist, if your wrists are on the smaller side. Have you noticed this? My wrist is about 6.5"
Waiting for delivery (-:
Don't forget to mention the Bulova Hack.
BB36 all day all night🔥🔥🔥
Whats the materil of the bezel made out of?
I actually agree with Hamilton. Mineral crystal was the better choice for this watch than sapphire. Put this watch next to the Khaki Field Mechanical and you’ll see the difference in clarity. With black dials sapphire sucks. It washes out the color of the dial and is heavily reflective. One shouldn’t assume that sapphire is ALWAYS the best choice for a watch. It isn’t.
용두(크라운)가 너무 튀어나왔다. 아쉽다
"seen combat" no way I would would put that watch in harm.. those were definitely saved for dress and pub night lol
5610U + "Premium" = GW-5000U And you end up paying twice as much.
Bremont Argonaut ?
Just curious. Did you ever purchase a 36mm Explorer? Great content! Cheers 🍻

It's a 700 dollar watch . You may as well go Watch dives or Steel dive and save 1130 USD
Is this JF or ER or CR ?
All the same🤷🏻♂️,but most are JF for this model.
I love the led lights on the gshocks . They have this liminal like ethereal white glow to it I like. Hard to describe but it’s dreamy looking…
This is the grandson of the famous Hero G-Shock. The gshocks in the 80’s had screw back metal cases just as this does…
Bought my Tudor BB36 Black dial in 2022 after seeing it at the AD. The Piano Black Dial looked elegant and simple. I wear this watch everyday from mowing the lawn to swimming in the ocean and this is my most favorite watch ever! The BB36 is a very understated watch! 😊
I dont agree that analog watches are easier to read at angles. If im riding my bike to the train station with my 5610u on my wrist, I can glance at the watch for a second and know the exact minute and second, without lifting my hands from the handlebar. I would not do that with any of my analog watches. I would usually not be able to tell 08:42 and 08:44 apart with certainty or know the minute and seconds with confidence, with just a glance, without lifting my hands from the handlebar. I love both my analog and digital watches, but I cant really think of many real life situations where the time is more readable/faster to read on my analogs compared to my 5610u.
Still patiently awaiting a true to OG 6105-8000 non-prospex reissue. When it happens (and one day it will), it will break the Internet.
It's nice, but £100 too expensive 😞
Sorry man but what a blunder to scratch it like that for a video
It’s a field watch, it’s not a dress watch it’s not a diver. It’s a very simple field watch
I bought this as my last, and only, luxury watch. It's my daily wear now, I don't have anything else as I sold them all. It's been pretty much flawless, tells the right time all the time and the bezel sits perfectly well in the right position when set. I get compliments on it as well. The only thing I can nitpick is as follows: The strap it comes with tends to 'un-clasp' itself from time to time from the metal Seiko slide clasp. You have to set that with a little extra strap hanging out, which can catch on clothing or anything near your wrist. So I can see why people put these models on natos or some other after market strap. The Seiko issued strap wears well, looks nice but its just a little flawed as all.
Clicky bezel?
I just wanted to raise a concern that I haven't seen discussed anywhere on the Internet. In my opinion competent field watches must have (at least) a date complication and a day-date complication is even better. When away from civilization it is easy to lose track of the day and date. This could be crucial if you are supposed to meet someone for resupply or extraction (for example). Some might argue that this information can be retrieved from a cell phone, but then so can the time and cell phones are notorious for their short battery life.
Just draw a mark everytime the sun rise, it is truly not that hard
The WWII “Dirty Dozen” spec didn’t include a date complication, and it’s hard to call what the British army gave its troops in WWII anything other than “field watch”. Of course, great field watches are available both with and without date complications. I prefer to not have one myself… if I really need the date, I’ll use my phone, and if I’m in a situation where my phone has died and I’m completely outside of civilization for days enough to lose track of what day it is, knowing the correct date is probably the least of my worries!
@@davestagner Thanks for your comment. The Dirty Dozen watch specification was issued in 1945, the same year that Rolex released the first self-changing date complication, so it is understandable that those responsible for the program would think that a self-changing date complication would be a "bridge too far." However, fast-forward 79 years and self-changing date complications are provided on most affordable watches, so there's no reason for us to confine ourselves to pre-1945 technology in choosing an optimum field watch. I like the symmetry of no-date dials as much as anyone, but I prefer a date complication for both field and travel watches (which have similar requirements).
@@HappyGuy11 Sure, I can see that! Your historic reasoning makes sense. Still, though, I feel a date complication on a field watch is a preference, not a requirement (just as a 4pm crown is a strong preference for me, but absolutely not a requirement).
Wouldn't this mean a watch like G-Shock GW9400 Rangeman a superior choice to mechanical watch?
the 5610U is closer to the original with updated features though.
Is it completely made in Japan
Concerns about the glass some have expressed here is a non-issue in practice. I use mine in demanding situations all the time over the last year and a half and similarly screened Casio squares before that and they are all fine. The only reason this guy scratched his is because he intentionally scrubbed it into grit face down(!) (6:40) Who does that in the real world? Again, it’s a non-issue.
My next watch.
Great review. You can get aftermarket gorilla glass which perfectly covers the acrylic. Crystal. I bought a pack of three. They're fantastic and don't inhibit the solar cell whatsoever!
Great Review!
I have been wearing a CWC W10 & then G10 for the last 40 years. Love 'em
Can't get enough of this Ranger. Give me this over the Submariner anyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My GW-5000U is what I wear the most. It is amazing travel watch. Cheers!
Every collection needs a watch like this. Perfect business casual to outdoor watch. Looks amazing on distressed leather or any number of natos.
Untrue. Norgay and Hillary were given a Smiths watch and a Rolex. It remains unclear until this day who wore which.
Good video but would be even better without the cheesey music.
omg how you scratched the glass so badly
Stunning watch for not too much money. It's perfect.
