My memory of this time period is strange... I seem to remember one routine (same show, different appearance) where she did some edgy material and literally got booed off.... did that happen or am I having a Mandela moment???
Interesting but impressive how a show as aggressively American as The Sopranos could introduce me to a poem/song as aggressively British as Evidently Chickentown
😢 I really like your comedy and your books but I'm finding it really painful I know you're trying to make a point but I really like you and I'm finding it really difficult to listen to this comedy
John Cooper Clarke was 31 when he wrote this, just a kid
This is what uncle Philly saw on his mirror everyday.
"Leotardo, that's my fucking legacy."
Jo's first appearance was in 1988 (according to her autobiography)
Bloody hurts to look around.
Bloody hurts to look around.
Bloody hurts to look around.
From season 3 1981
this routine is from 26th February 1988 - the show was renamed Friday Night Live in 1988

I met Sabah and had my photograph taken with him in his other guise at Camel's Royal Albert Hall concert in 2018. They vaguely remind me of a Balkan version of the Bonzos.

She wasn't funny then, and she certainly isn't funny now.
Great poem about the monotony of life
Exactly 💯
Bruh that nigga was TALKIN!!!
I have since learned to loathe her more than I did 3 decades ago.
What a fantastic aeroplane, just love Buccaneers. Wouldn't it be just amazing to see her fly again?
Whilst on WILTY JCC replied to a question: "why do don't you like the sea?" JCC replied, "it will kill you when it's ready." - My favorite reply on WILTY ever.
Bloody good
Great Stuff.
Awesome! I saw them play in Baltimore in the very early nineties. I used to have a t-shirt, wish I still had it.
irónico, emocionante, buena música, la hostia puta
Friday night live 2022!!!!
1988
It's criminal that there's no official way to see this show. You can find some stray clips online here are there, but no streaming, no blu-rays, and it's not airing on TV anywhere. It was a great showcase for a truly unique talent and it deserves to be seen. Future generations must know of Catmeat Conga!
You'd need a word count alone for how many times 'bloody' is used
"No more Butchie..No more"

Clarke is a fucking genius!
Bloody brilliant.
hello! Was that "Friday Night Live" broadcast on Channel 4 in 1987? Could anyone remember? I see some of you have been there. Could you let me know where that show took place? I am researching for a comedy show. Please let me know if you are able to help. Thank you!

Is no one going to say anything about the John and the zink and the mirror and so on? Bloody brilliant if you ask me!
Beeps! Good grief...
Bloody well done
The is easily one of thee most underrated bands of the 20th century. I saw them over 15-18 times from 77 until 1990 and these guys could play absolutely positively anything. AND with Vice Welnik in the band? forget it. anything
bloody hell she hasn't aged in 40 years
