My big toe joint keeps getting swollen and inflamed when I dance Tango, just on the right side. Do you think these exercises would help that? Thanks 🙏
I do think these exercises will help. Also, have you looked at Correct Toes? They are a brand of toe separators that were designed by a podiatrist here in Portland, Oregon. I wear them most of the time that I am out of my tango heels and they really help with toes/joints shoved into tango heels 🙂 You DO have to get used to them little by little, not just put them on all day, as your feet need to build strength to support a healthier position. I swear by them.
Beautiful 😻 Goddess White Feet 👣 🦶🏻😻🇵🇪♥️🇺🇸👑🌹
So good!
❤
Thank you! Great explanation and demo!
Thanks!
Great and original tips! :)
Thanks! I try to incorporate any tips I learn from Pilates, yoga, etc., and "steal" any exercises/props that could work for tango. Always trying to think out of the box :-)
Beautiful feet 😍
You have beautiful legs and feet.
Hello Elizabeth....just in this moment I was seeing the effortless boleo's exercises with Yelizaveta....both, you and she are exceptional in this issue...thank you very much
These I will take into water rehab & do there, with hope of translating them back into gravity this year. Thank you for your ever true precision, clarity of body dynamics & kinesiology which is my only hope for being able to ever dance again.
You can also do these, in detail, in your imagination, and you are building up to 70% of the same brain connections as physically doing them. Fingers crossed for you to keep being able to move and dance!!
All the mental rehearsal, all the meditation. Happy New Year, dear Elizabeth❤️
I meet the lovely Tango community in Narbonne!!! Now I must dance again. So wonderful these dancers, so warm & have beautiful Tango heart here.
I watch again and again. Learning more each time.
I keep studying your smoothness. Overcoming the up élevé habit of Russian ballet requires total reorientation to hip, high hip thigh, glute & leg stability. Starting over from scratch here in France. From walking back to tango.
I know. When I started tango, I had to undo some ballet habits. I thought about keeping my kneecaps facing forward. The good news is that eventually, the ballet training helps with the strength needed to do really good tango.
This has been tremendously helpful. Many thanks!
Thanks! I will be back with more after I process all the blogs from my tour group going to Argentina!
Great video Elizabeth!
I love your focus on strength & balance.. you are teaching inside-out and that is priceless ..thank you
Thank you! I have found that many tango dancers are simply not strong enough to maintain safe/correct posture in order to have good technique, so the only way to avoid injuries, is to get stronger :-)
@@elizabethwartluft7609 I have a terrible-terrible posture. Sitting in front of a computer for 10 hours does that to a person. I am constantly corrected by my instructor. He is digging his fingers on my spine to get rid of the hunch.. I also forget my legs and move below the knees .. I am new and determined , so you help me a lot. I wish I was near Oregon! !
@@nalaybeyoglu find a good chiropractor, a good Pilates or personal trainer person, etc. and focus on that: you need your back to be functional not just for tango, but for life in general. No one wants to be in a wheelchair in later life, so it is worth the effort NOW.
Hello Elizabeth..pls. let me know what material is made the slider and how the both surfaces are.. thank you..
Here is what I ordered from Amazon: Fassgen Fitness Gliding Discs Core Sliders (2-Pack)--but most of them have one side with hard plastic to slide on carpet, and the other side has a fabric/soft surface to slide on floors.
@@elizabethwartluft7609 Thank s a lot
Thanks so much for making this video Elizabeth. It's so helpful to have the health reminders x
You are welcome! I am glad it helped you!
You are the best, so perfect. I hope to see more videos on foot massaging especially for the middle of the sole and the toes, as a working women I have some problems with them. Thanks again :):):)
I just found out your channel yesterday, then could not stopp watching the videos one by one, I wish I knew all the things when I was a beginner, all you are teaching are gold, thank you so much.
Thank you!
Hello Elizabeth, congratulations for your blog. All your explanations are very studied for you. Thanks
Thank you! I hope the new microphone has made it easier to understand me.
@@elizabethwartluft7609 : Yes. Now I understand perfectly your English-speaking without eco. Many thanks
What joy!
Liked that a lot. The subtleties are often overlooked. Thank you.
You are welcome!
I feel keenly the need to dissociation. I am not good at English. But, This video explains it easily. Thank you very much for making the video.
I am glad it helped you!
"Wiggle the toes," good tip!
Thanks! It really helps keep your balance in the right place! Also, since the toes are mapped on the brain near the fingers, it keeps your embrace more relaxed too!
That is the opposite of what professionals do!
Also Elizabeth, in your demonstration, when you are dancing, not explaining your technique, your toes are clearly engaged. Teach what you do, if it works, not solely what your teachers teach you. Many good dancers do not teach what they actually do in practice.
WOW!!!!! You both are so very impressive!
For the longest time this step was my biggest challenge!
Thank you Elizabeth for these tips for the "cruzada ". Only one thing, is the cruzada made in the weak beat or in one heavy beta?
I just love these drills. So great to get to practice with you wherever I go! Dank je wel!
Eso!
I am among the fortunate who take class from this lady!
Gracias
Thank you Elizabeth. Your video is wonderful. Let me know, do you speak Spanish?
Si, por supuesto!
Thanks a lot. I see you are very interested so I am, in TANGO dance tips
I appreciate very much your tips about TANGO dance. I have some troubles with the eco of your room to become translate your videos
I am still working on getting a good microphone! Sorry!
Bello Elizabeth. Thanks for your excellent videos. I have a little trouble to translate because of the eco.
Thanks Hover! I hope to be able to get a better mic/sound system soon to fix that problem! You can also look at my blog at elizabethwartlufttango.com where there are many articles on technique.
Your integration of kinesiology & axial stability makes total sense in reducing strain from common tango movements. You pinpoint exactly where I have been overstressing certain muscles & been stuck impending what would be natural flowing progression.
Thank you :) <3 great and helpful video.
You are welcome! I found that there wasn't a lot of information out there about this. There will be more videos soon, I hope!
great info - thank you Elizabeth
Awesome video, thank you Elizabeth!
Thanks, Laura! Hope that helps with the stuff we worked on today!
Thank you for taking your time to help us.
Thank you. That really does help! Your time is appreciated !
Thanks!
Sorry about the low volume! I need to get a mic. I am just not loud enough :-)
you are the best. I want to take private classes with you. I live in Egypt.
Thanks, Noha! I will keep posting videos, so you can keep studying "with me" from the other side of the world!
Don't know how to thank you. But, it's enough to say that after 2 years of interrupted sporadic classes I saw one of ur videos and oops I found my axis. Willing to pay every penny I've to learn from you.
I have taught tango for almost 21 years, and a lot of what I am teaching now, I only figured out 100% in the past year or two. I share my information so that other people don't have to take 20 years to learn it! Have patience with your dance and yourself!
How would this exercise help dancing tango?
There are a couple of things that sumo squats help. First, many tango dancers do not stretch out their calves, hamstrings and gluts enough. Especially for wearing heels, this is super important. Also, you need strong backs of the legs to dance correctly. The squats help train awareness of how those muscles are connected in your body. When you can feel the muscles, you can use them better!
Fabulous movie again Elizabeth! You rock :)
Thank you!
