The show killed Sigurd off so soon because the actor who played him couldn’t stop messing up his lines. Each scene he was present in required multiple takes. He got in the way of production so they had to let him go.

But how much faith can we put in these 3 writers. Written 100 years after the events. I find it funny how there are eye witnesses to his death yet his body was never found. Shouldn’t they know the area where he was killed and what he looked like. The fact is that Roman’s were well known to embellish what had happened, maybe he did escape but you couldn’t tell that to the roman public. Maybe he died in battle as just another nameless faceless person in battle. We will never know.
