Day 3 started a bit bumpy. Right when I woke up I could tell my vision was blurry (both near and far) and it was hazy. 12 hours post surgery I have made it through the first day. I ended up sleeping from 10:30am (after I got home) until about 5pm waking only to eat some soup for lunch and to get eye drops! I have the disease but never had to go through this. I was diagnosed by a university hospital. Just from blood tests and all those other obvious symptoms. It’s not brain surgery. These procedures are soooo unnecessarily but money grabs especially if you have good insurance they will milk you . Young people need to research more because they are so gullible

    • @HicksGribble
      @HicksGribble 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This is so true. I’m blessed with good insurance but I can’t get treatment because all the “specialists” want more testing. I am seronegative for Sjogrens but have all the symptoms including confirmed small fiber neuropathy. After six nerve studies, multiple MRIs and a lumbar puncture, now I am recommended to do a skin biopsy, bunch of eye exams, lip biopsy and bone density scan to make sure that steroid treatment is safe. It’s a big money grab and it’s cruel. I’m 40 and have gotten progressively worse over four years. The steroids are not more harmful than the condition or IVIG, for that matter, which they pushed hard!

    I'm having this test done tomorrow I've had troublesome symptoms for several years, all labs came back good, so I assumed it was all fun my head 😢 Fast forward to a few months ago, my orthopedic surgeon hasn't been able to shake the feeling there is something going on with me. He referred me to RHueMATOLOGY again and they were baffled by the negative tests, but current symptoms Everytime my ANA and other auto immune labs are done, they come back negative. Which my rheumatologist was confused by. He repeated sjeogrens and scleroderma labss, all came back negative. However he had a myositis panel ran that had to be sent off. Two weeks later, SSA-52 and SSA-60 were positive!!!! They again repeated other labs last time and things were elevated. They have suggested I have sjeogrens, my eyes are red and bothersome, I have swallowing issues, Raynaud's, and much more that coincide with this disease. I think they are finally on to things....my Dr said if the biopsy is negative that doesn't rule out this disease. Hoping things are looking up for u now

    Even a negative lip biopsy does not exclude Sjogren's. The specificity and sensitivity of those biopsies are very broad and possibly depend on if you're flaring too... and the fact that you have positive antibodies either SSA or SSB you said means you have it especially with your symptoms. I hope you got second opinions! Mine was diagnosed with severe dryness symptoms, POTs, MCAS, and positive early sjogren antibodies.

      Hi Kaye - my results have come in and I DON'T have sjogrens (thank you, Jesus!) - but this doesn't mean that I am not having issues with dry eyes and mouth and swallowing. Overall, with any autoimmune (I have hashimotos) these can be symptoms. I am very grateful that my testing came back normal! Hope you start to feel well.

      Raising an Entrepreneur I'm so glad the results are good! Just found out there are several nodules on my thyroid that my PCP wants to "watch" - but I may see an endocrinologist to check. I have dry eye and trouble swallowing sometimes.

      @@beautyisageless1 Yes, please go to an endocrinologist soon - that is how I discovered my thyroid cancer - my regular doctor would have never caught it. Praying that all benign (as most are!) - so try to not be anxious or worried about it and get that appointment!

    Hello! I am 24 going through the same thing you went through. I’m about to have a biopsy. Do you remember how large your biopsy was? Thank you!! Love your dedication to Jesus.

      Hi Bubble Wrap (love your name on here!) - my nodules ended up being fairly small but my doctor told me right away that "they didn't look good" on the sonogram. He said he had looked at many. Ask your doctor what he thinks about your nodule itself. Size does not mean anything about cancer, just FYI. And many people have nodules forever so please try to not be too anxious (I know that is really hard!) and trust that God has a good plan for you. Let me know how it goes. ~Myra

    Why did u have to get 6 needles

    • @raisinganentrepreneur748
      @raisinganentrepreneur748 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. They use one needle at a time as they "suck" up the nodule cells into the needle then pull that out. Then, they change to a new needle and repeat. My doctor had to do it six times as he felt he wasn't getting the right "content." I think they might also not restick you with the same needle due to infections, etc. So they start with another needle. They then send all 6 samples to the lab.

    You were smart to travel to an experienced surgeon. We were very lucky that he moved from MD Anderson to our city just when we needed him. He and Dr. Roy are great surgeons.
