Hey, Its been a while. We are heading to Casarano in a week. If you are in town would love to connect. Let me know
Hello, Stefano, how's the renovation going?
I haven't been to the property for two years! Life got in the way, but I'll post an update soon.
Hey... when viewing Italy videos, like Niki Positano, every once in a while she will ask what happened to Stefano ? Are you still at it with your place in Southern Italy ? Is everything ok with you?
I haven't been for two years! Everything is ok and I'll post an update for the holidays. Thanks for asking!
Now a year has gone by ????!!! I guess there something going on in your life...do you think you can tell us what plans you have or not for Italy in the near future...🙏🙏🙏🙏
Yes indeed, life happens. Everything is ok and I'll post an update soon. Thanks!
Update !!...finished product
Far from finished! I'll post an update for the holidays.
Hey… how are you? Haven’t seen a post from you in awhile! Hope you are ok!
Patrice! Thanks for asking. I'm doing fine - I just have been swamped with kids and work priorities that get in the way of selfish indulgence! I'll be back!
Any updates on your Italian renovation? Do you still have it?
I still have it. It’s cheap to keep the utilities on and have a management company look after things. I got sidetracked in the US with my job and family stuff, so I put the house on hold for a while.
hallo! when are you coming back to Italy?
I'm trying to get back soon!
Congratulations on 50 episodes. Now, when will 51 drop???
Thanks for asking! I do have some old footage I could use for a video, but I haven't been back in a while. Life in the USA kind of got in the way!
Just give us an update what is happening and if you will be back any time soon. Or just an update
@@Winterbiker333 Yeah, I'm due for an update. I'll see about putting one together in the coming weeks. Thanks for sticking with me!
Nothing has happened here for six months...is everything ok?
Everything's OK! Thanks for asking. Just life in the USA getting in the way of my playtime in Italy. I'll be getting back soon - I miss it!
hello sir my Name Baljit Am plumber I need plumbing job am from altamura
lame
Hey! What are you up to. We miss your videos and your updates. Hope you are doing great.
Thanks for checking in! I have had life get in the way of my crazy Italian house plan, but I’m getting back on track. Friends I’ve made in Italy have also been asking, so I need to get busy!
So glad to hear from you/.My wife and I bought a Home in Casarano and we have enjoyed your videos. Like you say this is a slow process and the process to me is the best part of the experience. We are finally furnishing it and may end up renting it for a while. We love Italy and specially Salento. You chose well. You have an amazing place in a beautiful town. Love to meet up one day. 👍@@CasaStefano
@@Myhappyplace65 I would definitely love to meet up someday! Keep in touch.
Hello, how is it going?! Curious to see how you’re doing and how the renovation is going? 😁
Thanks for checking in! 2023 was a crazy year and I didn't get to the house. I'm eager to get back and finish the bathroom and make it livable again. Then continue with all the other work!
@@CasaStefano Glad to hear all is good and can’t wait to see you back in Italy. Have a great weekend! 😊🙏🏼
My dad is from Aradeo and I've visited often. Thanks for sharing.
I am indian plumber your wark indian plumber can do it yes and no
great info . good to see what's available for that price.... although i do realise that was 2020
There are still lots of bargains. The interest from foreigners has slowed down in the past year.
what's the best way for me to find a property do you think? I have a really limited budget@@CasaStefano

The more I view your videos , the more I like. I was a bit critical at first… my humble apology… I think you may have something here! Congratulations!
I'm glad you enjoy the videos. Thanks for watching!
Apologies…. Wonderful!
Shouldn’t we be looking at tile?
hello please how are you doing I am a Plumb I am in crabi I really love to work with you please can I walk with you please if you want me to walk with you I can send you my number thank you
Hey… thanks for the shout out! But Patrice is a she…. not a he🙃. Great in formative video! I cant wait to see what you do with the place ….. not a criticism just excited to see it done just as I am sure you are. Congrats on the 50th episode and here’s to 50 more!
Ha! Sorry for the misgender - I'm a fan of Patrice the comedian so the assumption followed. Thanks for being a loyal watcher!
Great video to see how things are done in Italy. I have a couple questions if you could be so kind to answer. 1, What is the waste line going to the roof for? Is it a roughed in supply line for future use? 2. Is there any venting to the roof? In most photos of Italian homes I've seen there doesn't seem to be any pipes on the roof. 3. I have read through all the comments and two other people asked about the cost and you said about $5,000 to 25,000 Euros. Thats a pretty big range. If I have the exact same job as yours would it be closer to $5,000 or $25,000?
1. Yes, rough-in for future outdoor kitchen/shower 2. No venting for plumbing in Italy, but I will add one just to be safe 3. Closer to 5000 Thanks for watching!
Your sense of humor is always spot on.
Your bloopers are the best!
My advice to anybody thinking about purchasing a house/an apartment from a foreign country. Go and rent a place and live there for a month, two, three, six months at first. Only then can you find out if that country, area, city suits your way of living and gives you the things you want. Also, if it seems to be the kind of place you like, it is easier to go and look for the "perfect" apartment/house when you can take your time and shop around and compare, instead of hastily choosing between a handful of options.
Just returned after 2 weeks in southern Italy. We stayed for 5 days in the Old Town section as Italians call it and I agree with dogs, cars, festival music, etc. but if you close the window you don’t really hear it. Also quiets down 10 to 11 pm. Being also from the US and interested in purchasing in southern Italy, tax confusion is has me on pause for the moment. Can I ask how Italy taxes have affected you ? For example I am trying to find out if you are in Italy less than 183 days a year, you don’t have to report US income and you are not taxed. I’ve read you have to report all your US assets to Italy as well as there is property tax on your home. Can you tell us what you found?
Property taxes are low - in the hundreds of euro. It will totally depend on where you live and what the cadastral value is. Income taxes are a different story. I am not a resident so I am not affected. Stay 182 days or less per year and it is not an issue.
I like the lessons learned at the end... very useful
It looks shockingly expensive!
It wasn't cheap, but much less than replumbing a small house in the US!
Congratulations 🍾 Glad you’re enjoying & Adapting to new lifestyle. We’ve been stuck in USA for a year now and there’s so many things I miss but we’ve had to adapt being back here after 6 years. Thanks for sharing and your videos always bring a chuckle 🤭 for us! ❤
Thank you, guys! I've been stuck in the US too. I hope we both get back soon.
Heyyy man, congratulation on your N50 🎉🎉🎉 Fantastic seeing you back on the screen! You have covered some great points, bottom line, if you don’t like Italy that much, stay at home 🤣🤣 Can’t wait to see you 🙏
Thanks, Davide! I'm working on getting back. I miss everyone!
@@CasaStefano Your name comes up all the time when talking with Jen & Den! I know you’re in for the long journey, plenty of time to have fun…. 🙏🌟⭐️
Excellent!!! Thank you so much for this update. Very inspirational!
Thank you, and thanks for watching!
I plan on staying there and not flying back and forth. That will save me tons of money.
Definitely!
Very interesting and helpful - I was doubting that not everything was so wonderful as they want to tell you specifically the real estate agents - Salento with love seems to be be very helpful but for me I want to see it in person because many of your concerns - barking dogs - traffic noises - parking etc the locals do not consider as it is normal to them. Thanks for your video it confirms what I thought
Be sure to go at different times of the day too. It's quiet after 9pm and during "siesta". Ironically, I make a lot of noise with repairs, so I have to be thoughtful to not be the noisy American!
Hi neighbour, loved this video, we know first hand and agree with everything you spoke about, so much so we could show your video on our channel Casa Mia Salentina as it all relates to us also, bells, garbage trucks, dogs etc etc 😅😅😅
We love it though, don't we? 😍
@@CasaStefano sure do
Hello neighbors… we have yet to begin our remodel in Aradeo but hope to soon! Would love to connect.
@@silentcousin8366 Absolutely! Look forward to meeting you
Ciao Stefano, Congrats on your 50th episode! Your list of items is well constructed hitting all the joys/challenges of buying, renovating and living in an Italian village. I would further emphasize: piano - piano (slowly -slowly). My place is located north of Roma (Sabina) and accomplishing tasks of any variety just takes longer than home in Canada, The locals will help you achieve your goals but do tend to look at you strange when you say oggi (today), what's the rush!?!? Having just returned home a couple of days ago, I alreqdy miss the italian vibe and lifestyle. Enjoy your continued Italian journey , cheers!
Thanks! I'm glad to hear you're sharing the journey.
Are their no taxi’s, Uber’s or ride shares?
Not really, at least not commercially. Walking within the town normal. It's getting between the towns that is a challenge. I suppose over time I may become familiar with any local "gypsy cabs" to get a ride.
Hey handsome, thanks for all the tips. Congratulations on 50 episodes!
Thank you!
I still miss your "Alter Ego" guy that used to pop-in the corner of the screen. But at least you got the post script, blooper hughing & puffing, now !
Alter Ego will be back! I regret not filming the work, but I had cement everywhere on me. The camera would've been ruined! It was brutal. Thanks for watching.
Love your house! My dream would be to have one just like it :)
Maybe when your travelling slows down you can look for one!
Sorry I commented too early about floor tiles! What’s your estimate for completion?
Bathroom: 2024. Entire house: 8 years 😀
@@CasaStefano piano e piano 😅
Where is the tile for the bathroom floor?
Thank you for sharing! Great job!!
Thanks, Susan!
Any update on your renovations?
A few more are coming from my last visit, then hopefully I can get back this Fall or Spring!
we just got back from a 2 week stay there!
It is a pretty little city.
Ahhh, thanks for reminding me why I loved Galatina so much. It certainly is a lovely place. Hope you are well.
I'm doing well. You should come back for a visit sometime!
