The Reason Van Morrison was Physically FORCED on Stage to Perform | SURREAL Musician Encounters
The Reason Van Morrison was Physically Forced on Stage to Perform. And Surreal Encounters.
“I write songs. Then, I record them. And, later, maybe I perform them on stage. That’s what I do. That’s my job. Simple.” - Van Morrison
As simple as that may sound, Van Morrison has also struggled through some dark moments in the midst of performing his brilliant music. The reason is a tormenting paradox that you may be familiar with. It is long believed that Van Morrison struggles with intense stage fright. But when it affects a performer the inability to work through it can sometimes create destructive unintended consequences.

Paul McCartney to Mike Love: “You really need to take more care of your album...“. The Beatles - Beach Boys Rivalry is legendary. Recently, however, two of The Beach Boys were interviewed and may have inadvertently revealed some details regarding the long standing 1960’s pop music rivalry. I loved both groups. But in my old age, I prefer the Beach Boys over the later Beatles. And I prefer Beatlemania songs over their said "masterpieces." Paul was very much in awe of Good Vibrations which is one of the most adventurous pop songs ever.

I have a feeling back in those days, a lot of musicians did as they were god's gifts and owned nothing to the audience, who indeed made them famous and rich! Very happy that those days are over and many musicians do recognize where their fate stems from today, show gratefulness and treat their fans with respect!

I wasn't quite five but was a huge music fan already. I had six older siblings and came from a very musical family, so I had been around music literally my whole life. By late 63 I was paying attention to what my dad and siblings were listening to on the radio and record player, and when The Beatles came along I was a Beatles fan for life right off the bat. My dad would sit in our dinette and listen to top 40 radio, by the fall of 64 I was sitting there with him listening all the time. The change in the music scene from late 63 to May 65 was incredible. The top 40 was filled with great songs that were a wide variety of styles - pop, rock, folk, folk rock, R & B, even some country and 'easy listening' - and the creativity was astounding. I had no idea how lucky I was, that was just the norm for me. The music world has changed drastically in recent years, and not for the better. Hopefully things get back on track some day, though we'll never see anything like the 60's ever again.

The healthy Syd Barett was very creative. He was a talented, gifted young man. Unfortunately, he had the wrong friends. When Syd met Nick Mason in 1964, Mason says Syd was already smoking a joint now and again. The shared flat in which Syd lived was even worse. Founded Pink Floyd at 19. Released 2 solo albums at 24. When he recorded them, Syd was already on the verge of schizophrenia... At 24, Syd was a sick person... He tried again in 1972 with the group Stars. Syd Barett had his lapses here too!!! He failed as a painter and musician. Psychiatry was not yet ready at that time. The Barrett family says nothing about what kind of illness Syd had ???? I am interested in how Syd lived with his illness???? Unfortunately, there are no more books in German...

Yeah I was senior in High School in Louisiana and heard on a Friday he was playing in Houston. My buddy whom I played guitar with was ordered to come with me after we got off at 3 in the afternoon. We drove up to an auditorium that only had around 500 seats or so it seemed and had been sold out for 3 months. I jumped out of the truck and the 1st person I walked up to and asked for tickets said yes, I have 2. Wavelength was the Album he was promoting and I can tell you he put on a clinic. He led his band like a conducter bringing them down to a whisper and then back up to a freight train. I'm a pro musician of 48 years and I tell you it was magical. I've seen every show there is to see in New Orleans and elsewhere and he was so into it, Flash forward to Jazz Fest in New Orleans around 2000 and he was horrible but I gave him a pass lol. He can really be a jackass and thats too bad. Love his music especially Cleaning Windows w Mark Knopler Natalia, Innarticulate Speach of the Heart and I could go on. I saw Rickie Lee in Baton Rouge and she had been on BOURBON STREET all day. She was amazing but incredibly rude, nasty, rubbing her cameltoe around the mic stand, cussing out someone in the audience etc.......Nothing I didn't do once or twice lol.
