Exploring Dijon's Hidden Gems
Today we are exploring some of Dijon's hidden gems. Dijon, in France's Burgundy region, has way more to offer the world than the Dijon mustard it is famous for. Dijon is a beautiful French city with architectural styles from throughout the history of France and Burgundy. One hidden gem in Dijon is Place de la Libération. This incredible square in Dijon is in front of what used to be the palace of the Dukes of Burgundy. Dijon's Place de la Libération is not square, but half circle in shape, and offers all kinds of cafes and fountains to look at while enjoying a visit to Dijon. Right next to Place de la Libération is the Musée des Beaux-Arts, or the Dijon Museum of Fine Arts. The Musée des Beaux-Arts offers everything from paintings to sculpture, as well as historical artifacts from around the world. Another great feature of this Dijon museum is that it is built in the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy. Dijon also has many churches. We are visiting two of Dijon's beautiful churches, Saint Michael's church and Église Notre-Dame. Both of these Dijon churches feature incredible architecture from the region. Another Dijon hidden gem in the city center is in part of a library that looks like a church, Dijon's Musée Rude. Dijon's Musée Rude houses beautiful statues for guests to see. The next hidden gem of Dijon is Darcy Garden. Darcy Garden has a beautiful fountain that is a perfect spot to relax while visiting Dijon. Another must see hidden gem of Dijon is Colombière Park. Dijon's Colombière Park dates back to the 17th century, at least as a park. Colombière Park also features some Dijon Roman history in the form of the Via Agrippa, which passes through Colombière Park. Another park that is a hidden gem in Dijon is the Dijon Beach. Dijon Beach offers a swimming beach, but for me the trails are what bring me to Dijon Beach. Whether you just like walking, jogging, running, or riding, Dijon Beach is a perfect place for all. For the last stop we head a little out of Dijon to visit Château de Mâlain. This amazing castle near Dijon has had archeological and restoration efforts under way since the 1980's. Château de Mâlain also offers incredible views of the beautiful villages below. Truly a must see location while visiting Dijon, and worthy of being called a hidden gem. Come along with us for exploring Dijon's hidden gems!

Today we are stopping in Spokane Washington. This is the second largest city in the state of Washington, but quite a bit different from its bigger cousin Seattle. There are still some of the problems that face large cities in America, but that seems to be overshadowed by the great things Spokane has to offer.

Monuments Valley is a place out of time. This is a sacred place, and it’s easy to see why. There’s just something that strikes you about this place, something that penetrates to your very core. It looks like it doesn’t belong to this world, or it couldn’t belong in this world. The dry stone reaches out of the desert toward the heavens for what human hands have strived for throughout time, but c...

I’m from Meridian. My great grandfather helped build the Threefoot building which is the tallest building in town that you can see from all over the downtown area and clearly seen in the beginning of the video (for those who aren’t familiar). It’s a beautiful art deco building from 1929 with intricate and colorful tile stylized motifs that add to the building’s vibrant aesthetic appeal.

I was there in 1999. The town was empty. There was one scruffy guy behind the counter at the museum with not much to say. It was a very unique experience, alone in Billy's old town. Silent, desolate and maybe a bit lonely. But really brought me back to the time. Thanks for sharing your travels and narrative. Safe trip dear.
