Rain, Thank you so much for posting this video travelogue of Guthrie. It is a beautiful, Victorian town that I look forward to visiting one day. I told my wife about it and watched your video a second time with her. Guthrie reminded us of Staunton, Virginia, a town we lived in for many years. I've been a fan of your channel since discovering your West Virginia series of videos last August. I find your videos of small towns in Oklahoma and surrounding states equally fascinating. Keep up the stellar work and I look forward to seeing more of your future travels!
looks like a nice town with interesting history, maybe worth a visit sometime. always nice to see an old US downtown district well maintained and at least somewhat thriving
Hi fly monkey ! I´ve been to your town in 2017. I had the great honour and privilege to see and talk to Byron Berline in his guitar and fiddle shop. That evening, he and his friends gave a concert on the first floor and he even introduced me as a "special friend from Germany". The audience was cheering. Some former service men, who were stationed in Germany, greeted me in German and we all had a good time. In 2021 I got the sad news of Byron´s passing. As far as I know, Byron´s fiddle shop was rebuilt after the fire. I surely will visit your town and Byron´s shop next time on my next trip to the US.
