Video was taken during the tractor show at Abilene ,Kansas. At the museum and during the show this train hauls passengers for a short ride through the countryside and runs right through the show grounds.

We had this tractor at the 2022 Goessel threshing days show and managed to get it running three times this way on saturday morning. It still needs some magneto work and a little bit of clutch adjustment.

Starting the 1931 U Allis Chalmers tractor

Allis Chalmers started manufacturing this tractor in 1929 for the United tractor company and when United went out of business shortly after that AC began to sell this tractor as the model "U" Allis Chalmers. This early model U has a Continental flathead engine, after 1933 AC began putting thier own engine in the model U of an overhead valve type.

This tractor i bought last year as a parts tractor for my 1926 12-20 but after looking it over i decided to get it running instead. This tractor originally came from Texas before i bought it from an owner in Kansas.

Always wondered what that lower crank was for on the R/H side and so yeah that makes sense now. Nice bunch of tractor's you got and I am a IHC fan myself too. I have an early 50's W-4, a 15-30, and a 22-36 all complete and in reasonably good running order. Cheers!

Such a cool tractor I would love to find one in that same condition that I could get running but there’s never any for sale but I’m only 18 so I hopefully have many more years to find one. Nonetheless very cool tractor
They come up for sale now and then, and are getting more reasonably priced i think. This one i bought from a friend running just as it is for 1400 dollars.

That was a muffler i had on the shelf, dont remember what it originally came from.
Wow! I wish my 39 w-14 started like that. I gotta crank at least 4 times to get it to go. What did you do to it to get it to start like that?
Sorry for the delayed reply Dan. A good valve job, good hot spark and a good fuel system all play a part in easier starting. Especially the fuel system on these, i have found that the fuel pump and carb have to be pretty right as picking up fuel after sitting for some time makes it a lot harder to start.

Runs well i've never seen one being cranked of the belt pulley before. I'd love a Wallis one day but there few and far between in Australia, by the way great content keep it up.
