i wonder why people want the hovercrafts floating off the base ... that's not how real skirt based hovercrafts like the ones that the tanks are based on work. the skirt stays on the ground and its what hold the air under the platform so it can stay level

great video ! there's a lack of battltech basing tutorials which is unfortunate because the scaling is so much different then other war games. Loved how yours looks gonna use it for my next lance ! :)

Slight correction on the hetzer: It has only 32 armor on the front and 22 armor on the side, and is infact quite easaly destroyed and even easier to outmaneuver since its AC20 is not in a turret and its not very fast. Not quite the beast, but more like a very nasty surprise when you turn around a corner and stare down the barrel of one. A one shot wonder so to speak XD

European pledges are held up due to customs issues that they are still currently trying to resolve. I'm glad to see you got some merc stuff for Christmas. Was hoping for some new Salvage boxes for the Salvagemas event this year, but I have plenty of mechs to keep me busy painting well into next year.

I was confused when you were saying the Nova was a late invasion mech, until i realized you meant the Nova CAT, not the normal Nova.

The one to get is The Game of Armored Combat. That is your first purchase. FYI, I"m an old player from the 1980's with my beat up Game of Armored Combat with the Warhammer mech on the cover, and the white rulebook.

So to wrap it up: Every single Mech is brilliant, awesome, perfect, wonderful and you love it.

I love the grasshopper. I like taking a pair of them in a Lance to support each other in hunting other mechs down and/or run interference for fire support elements of a lance. They really come into their own in Urban Environments.

Nice selection. I've gotten a complete box, and after I opened the second salvage, I knew I was getting an exact repeat of a previous box and not randomized and no surprise.

If they make a fair profit on the joke, then it was a good business decision for them. At least people who buy it know exactly what they are getting. What really bothers me is how they sold the first two ilClan era Gray Death Legion novellas as they were written. Then they released the compilation with a third story you can't buy separately. So you have to pay novel-price for the third novella. Similarly, the new ilClan sourcebook hardcovers are so thin I'm feeling abused. Even GW provides more value in their codexes. I can't believe I just said that.

I've gone from gambling on Salvage Boxes to watching someone else gamble on them. Second-hand gambling, if you will.

I pulled 3 Cataphracts in a two week span last year. Not my favorite mech, but i was able to put together a St. Ives and Cappellen Lance.

Well y'know...I do like the chicken-walkers. :-) And avoiding ammo explosions is fun. For the paint job, frankly, I'd be happy with anything Steiner or Davion, or, if I have to pick just one, Kell Hounds as done on the Wolfhound on Camo Specs. 🙂 Jenner JR7-F Jumpy goodness, higher armor than the stock version and without a bomb (ammo). Griffin GRF-1N Jumpy sniperness! The PPC is a good hole-puncher, and with the jump jets and longer range weapons, it's good for preventing scouts from flanking. Marauder MAD-3D A great Marauder, dumps the autocannon for a large laser and more heat sinks, can sustain PPC fire for far longer and no ammo explosions! Marauder II MAD-4A MOAR PARTICLE CANNONS! :-) And it jumps! Overall, you have the two Marauders to provide a strong center, and the Griffin and Jenner make adequate and robust flankers for their weight classes.

It’s got to be a Locust, a Crab, a Stalker and a Black Knight for me - so much versatility there In terms of colour scheme, I’d be interested in a sponsor-themed pattern for the arena, like a formula one car. Team Pepsi mechs!

3025 there can be only one answer, Missiles and Medium Lasers! Spider SDR-5D Trebuchet TBT-5J Orion ON1-VA King Crab KGC-0000 List brings speed and armor, closing power and long range, and hopefully all the variants are correct. For the color scheme, I like the idea of Solaris warriors having colorful, vibrant, "out there" designs. No fog of war, no need for camouflage, each pilot going wild.

I run campaign play. we just finished a 7 month story arc that had 8 players. I am starting a new chapter with two groups of players. 6 players in the year 3090 (start of Dark Age) and 5 players in 3021 (end of the 3rd succession war). both are taking place in the same area of Steiner and periphery.

I'm just getting into Battletech miniatures and I just found your video on basing. Do you still use the same techniques in the video?

Given that pristine salvage boxes have been repeatedly shown to just be one force pack after another I'd say your first set of 9 was just a random selection put together after some degree of cherry picking or random purchases - the second one was pristine though with one mech from the clan support star followed by a complete inner sphere direct fire lance and 4/5s of the clan fire star

no duplicates, no ''common/rare/ultra rare'' and all that blindbox bullshit. These packs seem like a great deal, completly random as it should be, not rigged to give you duplicates like candy, completly fair in value and no matter what you get it all can be used for the game. These are blind boxes i can truly find myself buying to collect and play.

Just a heads up. The Irregulars don't have a standard paint scheme. The pink Highlander is Rhonda's own colors. Each mech is unique.

For something to get started in Battletech. This is amazing. You get some great mechs and terrain to get your feet wet into the game. Sure we have better products for people who know the game but for someone new like me? Fuggin hell yes

And remember when playing Battletech...its not considered a War Crime if there is nobody left on the other side to report it.😁

I kinda dig the idea of blind boxes, and, if I could get a couple of retailer units from a trusted source, I absolutely would. That said, my options to do so have been kinda limited. Unfortunate, really.

without looking at it i thought the Salvage boxes would have come with like 5 Parts of mecs for you to assemble and each part if different. but a whole mech yes please

Great vid! I definitely enjoyed the Legends sourcebook, mainly because I was looking specifically to paint up certain miniatures in their "Legendary" paint schemes for a game format I created. I am going to acquire Legends 2 for the same reason. That said, I'm not sure I'd classify it as a "must have". If you're a lorehound, yes. Painter, yes. Casual player? mmm no. I'd say this supplement is for intermediate players and up, it's one of the ways to get waist deep in the franchise after you've gotten your feet wet with the beginner materials. New players will not know who these people are, they won't have the connections. The universe primers give the new players the basic overlook of the lore and the Inner Sphere/Clans.

I wish the artwork matched the load outs more often.

17:17 the Wolfhound is popular because it is an almost perfect light hunter, skirmisher and brawler. 6/9 move, 119 armor, large laser, multiple medium lasers. It's great. You know how the Pheonix Hawk PHX-1 or PHX-1D is a terror to light mechs in 3025? The WLF-1 in 3028 is basically a pocket version with very few compromises. It was designed by Steiner to counter the Jenner and Panther of the DCMS and it does. It only got better in 3052 when it got its large laser upgraded to er and DHS reducing its need to heat cycle.

love the cgl boxes and minis but the books seem soo expensive in comparison!🤔🤨

It's an ok book but hardly something that I'd see as a 'must have'. In my opinion, of course.

Got a king crab from a salvage box. That alone made it worth for me.

I purchased the Humble Bundle and I believe this pdf book was included. I prefer hard cover myself. Great review.
