I'm glad someone uploaded this show to youtube. It's unknown to most people, mostly not available on DVD(I believe one or two episodes might be bundled in an anthology DVD of some sort), lasted only two seasons, and likely would have been totally forgotten had it not been for the tragic murder of Rebecca Schaeffer. I think it deserves to be remembered though, as a virtual time capsule of the 1980s, featuring the good natured optimism of that era, and for showcasing the biggest role of a talented young actress who should have, and likely would have had an amazing career and many more great roles had her future not been brutally snatched away from her.

I remember watching this show as a family, although I quite young. Well done by Eddie Murphy and CBS! Could have made significant dent in the ratings had Redd not passed. They recasted with Jackeè as Della Reese’s sister, but you can’t replace Redd Foxx.

Anyone know the actual taping date of this episode? It was broadcast on November 20th, 1991. Red died on Oct. 11th and most shows are taped three weeks to a month before airing, so I have to imagine that this was taped a couple of days before his death.

I loved the show. If not what happened to Foxx I would've loved to see where the sitcom goes in the second season. I also saw the interview where Della Reese didn't like how producers mistreated Redd. Rest in peace to them both and Naya Rivera.
Makes me sad what happened to Foxx, the show never felt the same after he passed away he did.

I wish Red Foxx survived his heart attack so that he could've finished his sitcom. I loved his dynamic with Della Reese and seeing Larenz Tate and Naya Rivera is a joy to see.

One of the many messed up things about this utterly horrible and messed up case is that Bardo was actually denied a gun by the owner of the gun shop when he tried to buy one. He gave his money to his brother who went ahead and bought him the .357 magnum that he used to murder Rebecca.
