I agree with Ms. Reece. They handled Redd’s passing all wrong. He wasn’t phased out. They didn’t do an episode showing he passed away. It was like he was there one min and gone the next. VERY disrespectful!
It turns out they had an episode in which Ruth came to help out the family after Al (Redd Foxx) passed away. However, in that episode, Ruth was written as Victoria's younger sister instead of her daughter.
The last aired episode before the series was canceled in May 1992 leaving two unaired episodes until February 2019. Jackee was no Redd Foxx. She could not keep the audience Redd built with the series and I strongly believe had Redd lived, this show would have lasted at least 5 seasons if not more. It was a good fit for CBS.

Hate to say it. The show got a lot funnier with Jackee ..Love Redd but they started to use everyone and it was hilarious..sucks that they cancelled it .
