    I don't recommend keeping the oe isolators with your aftermarket lift spring coils.The bottom isolator eventually gets crushed and distorted and the top is wedge shaped instead of flat causing upper part of spring to bow. Please update your kits with quality isolators. Some people are blaming your springs when it's actually a foundation issue at each end of the spring.

  • @MrTurbo64
    @MrTurbo64 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Your kit should come with the proper upper spring isolators. Installed your 2.5 kit in my JLUR and now need to get the proper upper isolators to correct slight bow at upper point of coil.

      Thank you Skyjacker for reaching out to me. I took care of the slight bow issue and I'm still pleased with the comfortable and stable ride from the Skyjacker lift kit. My 2021 jlur had the stock wedge shaped upper isolators that don't work correctly with some/most aftermarket springs. I dropped the front axle again and removed the stock upper spring isolators and put Rock Krawler' neutral upper spring isolators and now the springs sit straight. I'm not here to bash any company, just compliment all the different companies that make and keep the Jeep community going strong!

  • @Travisj9935
    @Travisj9935 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    How do the Black max compare to Bilstein 5100's in the rear? I have a 2022 Ford f-150 2.7 4X4 and Bilstein 5100's ride like a Forklift they're so stiff.

    • @SkyjackerSuspensions
      @SkyjackerSuspensions 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Black MAX uses Foam Cell & vehicle-specific valve tuned and Nongas pressurized. Bilstein 5100’s are High-Pressure Gas Pressurized shocks, which makes them about 30% firmer than Black MAX (Nongas pressurized). Skyjacker M95 monotubes are comparable to Bilstein 5100, both being high-pressure gas-pressurized, so Bilstein 5100 high gas pressure will give a much firmer ride than Black MAX. What would be best for a ‘73 k20 4” lift? I have hydros(old ranchos probably 30 years old)and wondering when they are in need of replacement besides leaks and valve failure. Does the fluid break down over the years? In my truck on road it’s spongy and sloshy. Off road it feels like the shocks aren’t working properly on tire contact took the shocks out and they definitely still work just wondering what the shock feels like new vs old fluid only shocks. I’m looking at this shock just to be sure.

    • @SkyjackerSuspensions
      @SkyjackerSuspensions ปีที่แล้ว

      Shocks have several internal valve discs that flex up & down as the shock shaft moves up & down and get weaker as the flex up/down over time. Aftermarket shocks, as a general rule, used on highway with light off-road can last up to 75,000 miles. However, the internal valve discs usually begin weakening at 50,000 miles. Hardcore offroading like rock crawling & heavy offroading significantly reduce longevity & shocks can start to break down at 30,000 miles of less depending on how often and how hard they are used. The shock's internal valve discs weaken over time and become more flexible due to the millions of up/down cycles, causing reduced shock performance and reduced response to absorb as new. Most likely the reason you mention, “Off-road it feels like the shocks aren’t working properly” is due to the internal valve discs being 30 years old with millions of cycles combined with the shock fluid losing its’ viscosity over the 30 years. The internal valve discs have used up most of their life, so I’m confident the shock is not functioning as new shocks would that would have stiffer valve discs and fresh oil at 100% viscosity. For 73 GMC K20 with 4” lift, I would suggest Skyjacker Nitros N8051 Front and N8053 Rear if truck is used 50% offroad & 50% highway use OR Black MAX B8551 Front and B8553 Rear is truck is used 25% Offroad & 75% highway use. I hope this answered your question. If if didn't please give us a call!

    I have a question man ? I own a rwd/2wd mega cab 1500 megacab basically a 2500 frame. I’m currently running the 2.5 coils from maxtrac. The lifted the front but it still sags about 1.5 inches lower than the back. I’m still running stock wheels and tires 17x8 on 265/70/17. I’m running the maxtrac shocks that were made for that lift. The shocks are shot and need replacing so I plan on getting the m95. However my rubber insulator was bad. So I saw you guys offer a 1.5 polyurethane spacer. Will it work with the coils ? The shock will still have about 7 inches travel. It’ll bring up the front level to the rear
