Tracker Catfishing

We’re a husband and wife team who loves catfishing! The goal here is to share our ways of catfishing, in hopes of benefiting at least one other fellow fisherman who’s trying to learn how to catch trophy catfish. We’re a fairly new page but will be posting lots of great fishing videos in the months to come!

In this video we are fishing a tournament out of Ashland city, Tn on the Cumberland River. We managed to finish 4th out of 22 boats thanks to Marlee catching a beast flathead! Rough, windy day fishing, but still had a blast!

Will a knotless knot work the same as a snell knot? To me, they come in and out of the eye in the same manner.

What prop are you running
I plan on using this knowledge with braided line. I hope it works just as well with braided.
Thank you! Trying to convince hubby I can tie his hooks and lures when broken, rather than throwing away and buying new. He said he didn't know how to tie the knots onto the hook shanks, went to TH-cam typed in "How to..." and up you came! Watched you, then showed him I could do it on a sewing needle! I have little hands with more dexterity. Easy peasey, wifey can do!

Absolutely. I kept 5 fish for 127 lbs in it all day for a Tennessee Madcatters tournament a couple years back with zero issues.

I just got a used(like new) box this morning for $100. It looks just like yours 56L X 19 wide, but only 12" cross the very bottom. I'm really concern about that 45 degree cut out in the front of the box and it being top heavy. I was going to put mine on the front of the boat. I'm worried about it tipping over. Granted its only going to be 1/2 to 3/4 full. Do you have an issues with it tipping over. I was thinking about adding some 45 degree supports. Thanks for sharing your video.
I never had an issue with it tipping over. I actually installed a cleat on each side and ratchet strapped it to the sides so it couldn’t tip even if it wanted.

The overhand “Safety Knot” is called a “Stop Knot” or a “Jam Knot”. The Canadian Jam Knot or San Diego Jam Knot relies on the same concept. Haven’t seen it on a Snell until here, and it makes perfect sense! Thanks!

They’re actually made and sold by “Cat Force One” on Facebook. They have them extremely cheap and they’re very well made.

Awesome video Joey. Is that improved clinch knot the same as a fisherman's knot? It would be awesome to see some catch and cook videos!
I do believe some people call it a fisherman’s knot. I’ve just always said improved clinch. Come around July fourth we normally catch some eaters and have a big fish fry, I’ll probably get a good video of that process!

Nope, we kept the water changed out pretty regularly.

Hey Joey, nice informative videos. I am new to catfishing as well as carp fishing. I have a question about the bright orange braid that you use for your mainline. Can the bright orange line be an issue since it's highly visible to the point fish can see it? Thanks for your help, Dan
Honestly I think when it gets past a few feet in the water they can’t see it no matter what the color. I think it gets too dark for them down there in the rivers I fish. Either that, or they really just don’t care about it at all!
Joey, Do u have a recommendation on a leader length for fishing in a lake as opposed to a river? Thanks man
@@dand1587 I’d say probably a foot to 1.5. That’s what I used back when I used to fish Milford lake in Kansas and it did pretty well.

I am new to catfishing and struggled to tie this knot. The way you tie this just works so much easier with my hands and I ended up with a knot I was super happy with! This video alone made me subscribe thank you!

We had 127 lbs with 5 fish at one point with no issues
