Sick as 60GB PS3 that overheats, b4 u can do anything on it mate! Might have 2 turn ur sound up 2 hear it, but i can assure u it's very loud! Sounds kinda like the fan test on non backwards compatible PS3's This video was filmed on an iPhone 4S :)

This video shows my 60gb PS3's YLOD and shows exactly what it is. It is basicly a yellow light displayed b4 da PS3 can come on. Unforunately the YLOD wasn't able to be repaired even though it has the rare as 3.41fw :( Tried to reball it but a few bga pads came of the motherboard when removing the GPU :( Video taken from an iPhone 4S :)

Damn, I keep hearing the first models overheat constantly I've never had such a problem with my super slim it stays cool and quiet all the time My PS4 pro on the other hand, that's a different story

Have been there, sometimes it is so loud that you can no longer hear voices inside your head.
Yes ive had this and my ps3 fat overheated and shut down. I tried to add artic paste but busted up my ps3 in the process. Had to buy another PS3 slim and now that's getting very loud now too. My advice would be to back up anything you have on the Hdd and get a slim instead, as the Phat wouid need to have it's thermal paste renewed and if your are lucky it may work but for me, a new slim ps3 removed all of the old issues. Good luck.

After cleaning out the dust and the old thermal paste from the inside of my ps3 and applying some fresh thermal paste, i experienced some overheating too. Turns out the reason wasn't because i forgot to clean out dust from somewhere specific or because i didn't put on enough thermal paste. The reason came from the fact that the screws that press the metal thermal sink to the gpu and cpu weren't screwed on tight enough, so naturally my ps3 started sounding loud. If u have worked on ur ps3 from the inside, make sure the screws are placed back in tightly as they were before.
Very true, but this is a major problem with the PS3 phat's design.

Jajaja que incredulo, yo tenia ese problema tambien, en mi caso aunque cambie l pasta termica por una de muy buena calida y limpie todo seguia con sobrecalentamiento, la solucion fue un proceso delicado llamado DELID ya que el nucleo del CELL no hacia contacto con el IHS despues de hacer eso ya esta nomal .

@@francosaravia6772 Intentalo ya que es necesario por los años que tiene la consola, pero de preferencia verifica si en tu ciudad lo hacen ya que es un proceso delicado ya que si raspas algunas de las pistas del procesador o de la gpu, muere tu consola.
1. It didn't overheat, you physically shut it off. 2. It's going to sound like that when you place it on a carpet 3. Did you clean it recently? If not, that's another reason it sounds like that 4. That wasn't ten seconds, that was 45.

This unit needs new thermal paste. The fat ps3s are much quieter than the ps4 when properly taken care of
as long as the system isn't hot there is almost nothing to worry about, it maybe has an error at the fan triggering it to be fast on itself
Is actually because the system is on a rug you should never put something that produce heat on a rug it will trigger the heat chip sensor
@@OldCartoonsFan sorry i was that stupid 2 years ago.. i put my ps3 on an old radio.. obv an old radio that can still turns on will make a heart attack amount of heat.. that's why my ps3 said it's overheating after 15 minute of usage. lol

@@Srvulpi It's nothing to worry about just the fans working really hard, just mod your ps3 and download webman mod so you can change the fan speed and there will be less noise
If you wanna be a pilot just turn on this things engine and go throttle 25% then 50% then 75% and do go anymore
