I'm Brazilian, I have a lot of doubts about understanding jazz (except bossa nova for obvious reasons) but I would like to know if there is a style that mixes Ragtime with swing because I see many types of swing, some in minor keys (which look like ragtime). I've been looking for this "swing - ragtime" for days but I can't find the exact name... Could you help me?
If only this was on the 7th November
Refused mentioned 🤩
Why is every jazz musicians name coleman?
Exactly what I needed. Thank you!
The most american thing ever is writing a piece called machine gun 💀
Cries in 9/16
Only true music nerds get it.
very shory musical samples, i didnt understand the genres
Jobim?? Genre is overrated anyway they’re infinite
Every style of Jazz has Miles Davis on it
Anita’s and Reni’s go to the sky and to the sea, swimming until find a mermaid pusheen. Anita’s and Reni’s adventure… Hi! It’s Anita and Reni, do you remember us?
Cool jazz, the best of all, is the pinnacle of jazz, the deeper, most intellectual, the purest essence of jazz itself
Agreed with smooth jazz
Good meme
well done
Hola Álex . . Talvez alguna oportunidad de conversar por privado ?
I had no idea my 3 favourite Jazz albums were all Avant Garde
is it chet baker smooth jazz?
Nope. Cool jazz/vocal jazz.
Also, is ECM (Ralph Towner, Garbarek, Rypdal) a genre? It’s mostly just instrumentation, but doesn’t have much swing or jaziness
I was gonna try to organize it chornologically but fuck that... Random question Icould google but don't feel like doing because I get to flaunt my dick a little. Is Steve Coleman, the founder of the term m-base, at all related to Ornette Coleman... I had to ask chat GPT which said no... LAAAAME
Happy to see Dolphy and Miles, the first "free" musicians I got into back in high school. For me, the greatest free jazz album is Coltrane's Olatunji Concert. Pure, horrifying beauty. Feels like it was predicting grindcore and harsh noise decades before they started.
cant believe my man did adult contemporary like that
Don't hate on smooth jazz, it's awesome. And yes it's "jazz", especially if you think fusion and nu jazz are "jazz" too
if only it were at 711bpm (71.1 bpm works too)
Ok, great review, but what I learned new was Fred Ho. Never heard him somehow. Thank you.
160 views ain’t enough. You deserve more
I love jazz funk , jazz fusion and smooth jazz
nice video! but could be better with more or longer exmaples of each one.
the people of the internet like what you have done. you may live. for now.
This is so good❤
to really flex your independence you should have been switching the 11 and 7 hand each unison. and so i give this a 7 out of 11
The only music genere that uses strangled seagulls as an instrument.
Plzzzz we need one for blues 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Count on it!
Thanks for giving me the blueprint/map for jazz i just started my jazz journey
I was expecting them to play Ornette Coleman 😂😂
ahhh a refreshing stoner watch thank you sir edit: i only made it 1:55 seconds. then i watched a different video on polyrhythms
My fav genre is when you're singing about killing yourself but make it sound like a forbidden affair.
See everyone in a few years
Smooth jazz is jazz, you are confusing it with other music.
was NOT expecting to see throbbing gristle on a jazz video
another genre is monk's music. It's really a different subgenre, it's great.
It's all bout that Mofuggin Jaaaazzz ya dig??
Ah so Pujazz is a thing. What is Broadway Musical music?
uwu xd
Just a bunch of wrong notes.❤
💚
i love listening to sad fucked up clown honks
I’m self-taught in music theory & compose Classical style music. Considering early influences like Debussy (see the Cello Sonata); Ravel (see the second movement of Violin Sonata No. 2 [described as as “Blues,”]); and of COURSE George Gershwin (just see Rhapsody in Blue), I feel like Classical deserves a category here…
