16:46 (Even though someone has probably already mentioned this, I wanted to say it.) "The two surrendering soldiers in the scene are not speaking German, but Czech. They say ``Please don't shoot me. I am not German, I am Czech, I didn't kill anyone.'' Since these soldiers are Czech, they were most likely conscripted into the German Army." I imagine it's pretty impossible to really say how one would comport themselves during war when the stakes are so high. My heart goes out to both sides in that situation.

We should recognise that it is a Scottish king that united the crowns of England and Scotland. This war led to the Britain that became an empire, and the Britain we see today.

Respectfully, could only watch along for about five minutes due to the constant talking. I appreciate that you watched it and assume that you both enjoyed it but I have a three strikes rule when it comes to saying Shhhhhh out loud during movies.

Hey fellas, I worked on the visuals for this film - thank you for putting this together, really enjoyed your thoughts. Also, I love the graphics around your channel. Regarding the vision of Jamis and the reality of the fight to the death. In the dream/vision Jamis says "I will show you the ways of the desert" and we are to assume that Jamis is going to be a mentor of sorts. Then, in the end, Jamis challenges Jessica and, by extension, Paul, to a fight to the death. One interpretation of this you see around a lot is that Paul doesn't necessarily see what will happen, just what might happen. But I interpreted this scene differently. To me, Jamis did absolutely teach Paul the ways of the desert. You hear the voice in the end and Jessica's own narration suggests that Paul has never taken a life, and that to take a life is to take your own life ... that Paul must kill (and die) to be reborn. The visions are of him dying, but not in the literal sense - who he was died when he took Jamis, and Jamis showed him the ways of the desert - kill or be killed. That's my own interpretation. Really enjoyed this, thank you!

I was disappointed you guys bypassed one of the most significant moments in the movie, when Forrest askes Jenny "is he smart." He was obviously hoping that his child would not be carrying his disability.

Not to belittle anything my Scottish ancestors have gone through but I have to mention that this is one of the reasons the Irish fight so hard. Falkirk was not all about Wallace. Many good people died there. If you want a nice little mouse game, try and chase down the legend of King Stephen. The outcast Irish king. GL😂😂😂. They say the battleground at falkirk is haunted. Great reaction, I've watched this movie over 30 times and loved every watch, I really think you need to watch The Patriot with Mel Gibson it's another Epic war movie with so so much depth and emotion. I think it's definitely a must watch for you fellas, be warned there's a part with a little blonde girl that breaks my heart everytime. Jeep on keeping on.

This is a very romanticized condensed version of the actual history. But a great movie all the same. Legend has it he was part giant. Hence the nickname longshanks. You’ve never lived until you’ve been through Hogmanay in Glasgow. I highly recommend. The whole idea of a clan structure is that you will NEVER be homeless. Which is why being ostracized was a very big deal. Part of the rift between England and Scotland was religion. The Scot novels were devout Catholics. To not get married was a great sin.

Filmed mostly in Ireland, most of the extras were Irish and the beautiful bagpipes playing through the movie were actually Irish Uilleann pipes. Although the one Irish character in the movie was played by a Scotsman😅

You two are hilarious you two would fit right in in Scotland. Every time I watch this movie it gets me so angry and sad but also proud of my country. And no one in Scotland would take offence we take the Mick out of each other all the time.

My grandfather was in WWII. I never saw him show emotion his whole life. He sobbed a few times during this movie. Saving private Ryan is THE best war movie ever, and top 5 movies all time.

This is my favorite movie of all time. Like you said, it is so much more than just a great movie - it inspires me every time I watch it. Glad you guys were able to experience this one.

You guys should watch Hacksaw Ridge - also directed by Mel Gibson - if you haven’t and want another war movie suggestion. It’s harrowing, difficult to watch, but it is an absolutely awe-inspiring story.
