Hello! I'm pianist and composer Rob Kovacs, aka 88bit. On this channel I upload videos of original piano arrangements of video game music, specifically music from the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) era.
I grew up playing these games and have a nostalgic love for the music. And as I've learned more about what went into creating and composing these soundtracks, I've gained an even greater appreciation for the music and the composers.
One of my goals with 88bit is to shed light on some of the lesser known 8-bit soundtracks and bring the music to new audiences, especially to people who may have never played the games (or been able to get too far in them.)

Please enjoy my piano arrangement of the beautiful "Radical Dreamers" from Chrono Cross, originally composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. I recorded this having just gotten back from the hospital. (I'm well and doing fine now thankfully.) Despite that, I'm really happy with how it turned out!
This recording was made for a tribute album for the Chrono series titled, "Another World and Time - Piano Tribute to the Chrono Series." I was asked to arrange a medley for the 2020 G.A.N.G. Awards featuring the nominees for Music of the Year. This was truly an honor for me to do and was quite a task!
