Eddie is definitely in my personal top 20 greatest guitarists of all time. This is an outtake from the sessions for his 1977 solo album Game, Dames and Guitar Thangs. Eddie plays some tasty licks in the course of this repeating riff. The late, great Eddie Hazel. Perhaps the most underrated Guitarist ever.

Funkadelic fans know and love Eddie's masterpiece Maggot Brain but here is another, similarly soulful piece he composed 6 years later during the sessions for his P Funk solo album Game, Dames and Guitar Thangs. I remixed the vocals out of this version. I think it works better as an instrumental like Maggot Brain.

CYBOTRON - COLOSSUS (1978) 2023 Remaster of this killer classic of Synthesizer and Drum intensity

Cybotron (not to be confused with the Cybertruck) were way ahead of their time. Nowadays there are a dozen bands with this Keys/Drums Rock duo sound, but in the 70s there were zero... at least not at this intensity level. The whole Colossus album is a stone cold classic. I could have easily picked one of the other 3 pieces which fill the album.

@LPerezDancer I like exchanging thoughts with REAL PEOPLE WHO KNOW REAL MUSIC. I came along in the 60s so that means I heard THE BADDEST BAND I EVER SAW AND THAT WAS JAMES BROWN'S BANDS FROM THE MIDDLE 60S UNTIL DISCO CAME IN! I was blessed to see him at the APOLLO THEATRE! Man,MAN, that 60s band had some dynamic musicians and right after that along came BOOTSY AND CATFISH. Right after that came the Get On The Good Foot band with a bunch of hits! PLEASURE is a band that picked up the slack in a mighty way. They could be mellow or super duper funkee! There was a lot of competition out there at the time too, but they were right there with the heavyweights! AGAIN I SAY TO YOU, KEEP THOSE REMASTERS COMING OKAY 👍.

You obviously know how bad this album sounds. I made 1,000 tweaks to the sound before settling on this personal remaster

This is exactly what I was hoping was included in the video. How did you get permission to climb? My husband and I climbed up and went inside Chichen Itza maybe 40 years ago so it’s no wonder all I can really remember of it was the exhilarating and frightening climb down the stairs. We also visited Tulum so I’ll look for your video of that as well. Thank you!
My recollection is that this video was made in the 1980s, before they stopped access to the inner pyramid. I will post the Tulum footage sometime this summer. Thank you for your support!

There are a number of drummers that could've played on this according to the session notes. This was likely Tiki Fulwood if I had to guess by the style, but then Jerome Brailey and even Bootsy are listed as drummers on Games as well!
thank you man! Tiki was incredible! This album seemed like it had fewer songs on it back in the 80s when I first bought it from rollins records san francisco....it was a promo copy. This album deserves to be in the rock and roll hall of fame! bootsy on drums WOW! Never ever got radio play at least out here in the bay.@@LPerezDancer
@@waynefoote3781 Yeah, the California Dreaming cover could have been cut for either Juicy Fingers or From The Bottom Of My Soul AFAIC. I love the album though; especially that Beatles cover and So Goes The Story. Eddie shreds like Hendrix on those 2 songs!

Pretty sure it's Buddy Miles, from what I remember. I'll have to try to dig it up though. He definitely worked with Buddy at this time.

Proof that a digital recording can sound excellent on vinyl, because this album was recorded on 16/44 digital format, same as cd. The key on every recording to sound good on vinyl is the DYNAMIC RANGE

I don't know any other guitarist that can match his funky playing expressions...Eddie Hazel made some great Funkadelic tunes that still gets played on my playlist...Funky Dollar Bill for one.
Imo, Buckethead is the only guitarist that comes close.
