My fondest gaming memories are around the N64. Loved that thing. Still have mine.

I am so happy with my lite model. My battery lasts about 5 hours.

I admit I tend to just use my steamdeck at home when I don't want to play on my computer or ps5. And when I travel I really only use it on the plane and the struggle of wether to bring the steamdeck or the switch is definitely real. And If its a road trip usually I am driving. I have sometimes played it on campus when I should've been studying tho haha. I have way more games on steam but theirs just different games on switch and I struggle to find time to play any of them. All that said I personally would never sell any of those things until I get a next gen version to replace it. but that is just me I tried to sell my LCD model when I got my oled steamdeck and I did sell my original switch when I got my switch oled but in one case I got way less then I wanted and in the second scenario I also felt like I was gonna get way less then it was worth so I just gave it to my gf instead and it worked honestly cus now she has a gaming laptop and is into PC gaming too which is good cus it means we don't have to buy a next gen xbox now haha.

You could always buy an oled or wait for a steamdeck 2 if you ever wanted it again.

I hear you man. That is one reason why i don't like RPG's that is too grindy, it starts to feel like a chore. Also a reason why i don't really play big fps titles like call of duty. It's it just too fast and i would have to practise so much to get too the same level as the guys who are good, not too mention pro's. I like fortnite especially with build bvecasue it feels a bit slower and more manageable. I don't get into build fights as i am just not that good. I'll wait around at the bottom for them to peak and them hit them with a scoped asualt or sniper lol. SO i pick my battles and try to play different titles. That has kept it interesting for me.

Physical games = OWNERSHIP Digital games = LENDING and can be taken away at any time

It was the PSP GO that was digital only not the VITA. I recently bought a PS3 and some games (physical) been enjoying it WAY more than my PS4.

I don’t think this is about the deck taking time from your family. The same can be said about the switch. I think you’re more of a Nintendo fan which ironically is more expensive due to games prices and that horrible Nintendo online and accessories that drift after a month. You say bad practices doesn’t impact your family ? Yes it does, paying higher prices for games and consoles and subscriptions means less money for your family and here valve is the clear winner. Nintendo has become a scam but fans just buy everything from them. If time was an issue then you wouldn’t be locked in your office with a ps5, you wouldn’t use a switch or portal. Just admit you like Nintendo games more than modern games, there is no issue there but blaming steam deck that gave so many viewers to your channel just feels dishonest. Also deck feels uncomfortable in bed? Not a chance..

I found myself mostly using my 8BitDo Ultimate over the Switch Pro controller. Ergonomically the Pro controller is almost unbeatable but the 8BitDo has these back buttons which let me avoid these absolutely awful L3 and R3 buttons many games require you to use nowadays. Also I found the somewhat stiffer joysticks on the 8BitDo feeling better and the possibility to change the function of the buttons and sticks and add profiles is a nice little extra. And of course the dock, just great. All these extra features and possibilities make the 8BitDo Ultimate the better controller for me.

I’m getting the 8bitdo ultimate c it’s cheaper ofc it doesn’t have Hall effect joysticks, back buttons, or the changing dock But I know you aren’t a fan of back buttons since you don’t use them a lot

Good video extremely excellent and valid information and points. I personally don’t like or trust digital content regardless what it is. I have lost to much over the years to have any faith or trust in ether the company’s or the developers that do their best to cram the ALL digital future down on consumers 😈 Digital media just means more control in the hand of the corporations and companies over what we do and do not have access to. And less control in the hands of the consumers. Sure I have digital media ( movies music and a few games) however I know for a fact that they can be taken away from me at any time. Physical media for the most part can not be taken away from you ever. ( unless you get rid of it yourself) This pirate will always be a physical media person regardless the direction the future takes Sure digital is convenient for the most part I guess. but I have never comprehend just why so many people are so quick to attack ridicule and hate others who prefer physical over digital 😩🤔🤔🤔🤔 What’s wrong with people having different opinions likes and dislikes? If you like digital over physical or physical over digital that’s fine. I don’t appreciate corporations, developers or individuals trying to force people to go one way over the other😈😈 and I’m not just referring to games ether because this kind of thing is prevalent in just about everything in life now.. I took me quite a while to track down an OG ps5 system that had a disk drive installed into it, because the ones that just have the option to put in a disk drive ironically require you to first register it online 🤔🤔 and subsequently also has the potential to limit you on the physical games you can play.( and before anyone asks yes that true I looked it up and talked to a few people to get that information)

I just buy mostly exclusives physically on the ps5 and switch, then everyrhing else digitally in steam deck. I will get a 3rd party game physically if i really love it though.

Ive stopped going to netflix for movies and instead pick something from my library of dvds. I stopped going on youtube to listen to music and, instead, use my ipod, cds, and load music onto my phones storage to enjoy music. Ive bought a few books to reas over the winter since ill be inside a lot. I used to play the same pc gane every day like it was a ritual. Now i don't even remember the last time i logged into that game. I got plenty of video games to pick from physically.

With digital I just have one game I want to play downloaded at a time… then if I have the adhd impulse, I have to download a new one which to me is annoying so kinda tricks me into just playing the one I committed to. Dunno if that makes sense but yea haha.

seeing this video just now 2 days later and I have to say my grime is I don't have to explain why I want physical media physical games physical books etc there's a sense of ownership I want to own my things, I understood what you meant when you said the tactile feeing of taking the game in and out of the console is different than scrolling or games I totally understand there's a sense of emotions seeing that same cartridge 10 years later or 20 years later with kids or grand kids etc and telling them how you use to play that game 20 years ago also worst case scenario if we lose access to our psn or steam etc networks we lose everything ...EVERYTHING my friend from highschool 10 years ago gave me a pokemon black version and heart gold and ever since then heart gold has been special to me I remember him by it and I enjoy a fantastic game memories like those cant happen trading etc when its all digital. not to mention they can technically shut down servers any day, my friend physical gaming is dead, collect as much as you can and hope your consoles don't give out enjoy what you can now because egaming is becoming so bad thank you or the cup my friend I love your channel see you next time

I stop at the data, man. I can't really afford every individual copy of everything I enjoy. But I can afford a shitty PC connected to a 16TB hard drive running Linux that serves literally everything I enjoy, acquired... "found", you know. As far as gaming is concerned, don't buy trash and they'll quit making it.

I mostly agree but most present day physicals are kind of shitty for example PlayStation and Xbox games are just PC style data discs that are just digital keys more than anything and even though Nintendo still have proper physicals there far n few and many require game saving patches which won't make the game feel complete if the Internet apocalypse happens that every physical nerd seems to fear.

A couple of years ago I lost access to my old PSN account with no way to recover it. Yes, as unlikely as it may seem, this can happen. I lost thousands of euro worth of games. Despite purchasing a product, these large companies dont want you to own it. I almost never "purchase" - rent a license to temporarily use - digital copies of anything anymore. For those of you with children, keep in mind you wont find it easy to pass on your digital belongings to them when you die.

I dont know why people like to keep perpetuating certain lays, ALL my PS4/5 games plays from the disc, no need for update to play it. Only games with mandatory updates are online multiplayer, which needs internet anyways in order to play it. Actually i been having more incomplete games on Switch than PS4. Most collections like the RE4/5/6 or the Spyro remake or the XCOM collection, are complete on PS4 but incomplete on switch cart due to file size.

This is in no means a negative comment so please don't take it as such. Its wild that just a few months ago you justified wanting to sell your PS5 because you didn't want to be locked away in your office. Now you're talking about playing games on a PS5 from time to time because you have a nice tv and a comfortable chair, ignoring the fact that you'd be locking yourself in your office and away from your family. Either way you're going to have some issue be it the Steam Deck, Switch two, PS5, Xbox, a full blown PC. You want to spend time with your family, I get that. I struggle with it too. There is no one correct way to solve the issue. I'm just here to tell you that the only way the issue will be time. Eventually your daughter will be old enough to the point where she wants to play all her games with you, then she'll hit her teens and will want her space from you. The only thing you can do during this time in your life is find the games that make you happy, on the platform that makes you happy and play what you can.
