I haven't seen any of the Miracle Team mention the 1979 WC. That team that Brooks coached had 11 NCAA Players including five from Brooks '79 NCAA Champs. Interestingly Brooks selected Craig Patrick as Captain of the team. Was interesting pick as he became Asst Coach a few months later of the '80 team. Pretty certain Brooks picked him as an additional set of eyes and ears to evaluate the ECAC guys as fits on the '80 team. Brooks knew little about Craig, O'Callahan, Cox and Joe Mullen as athletes.

my mother was in the same class at the same highschool as schneider. to her dying day she always called him buzzy. she said EVERYONE called him buzzy instead of buzz or william. said he was quiet and focused on sports rather than girls or making trouble. i'm so glad it all paid off in the end for him

Great team I Remember that game for ever

I saw him play the last year of the old CHL which only had 5 teams in the 1983-84 season. He complained he didn't deserve to be in the CHL. He played for the Tulsa Oilers for 10 games. Ironically the Tulsa Oilers evicted from their home stadium became a road-only team and yet won the CHL league championship! Teams that year were: Montana Magic, Colorado Flames, Tulsa/CHL Oilers, Indianapolis Checkers and the Salt Lake Golden Eagles.
