Wow so nice!!! I need that Video on Chain Pushing!! <3
Amazing Videos! Very nice content and u have a nice way od explaining! Keep up the good work! Greetings from Berlin
Fantastic Tyler, thankyou!
man I wish you had made more videos. Great presentations, good stuff. Hope you’re well!
Thank you! I stopped playing blood bowl as it was stressing me out to lose players I'd spent 10 weeks developing to a foul on turn 16. I try and play less high risk games now. :D I do have more video over at Limithron / Pirate Borg for RPG games.
If possible, save a RR if an OTT is in the realm of possibility
Tip 1 through to 100 Nuffle will decide your fate. RIP
Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for this video!!!! this is great! :)
great video. Thanks.
These videos are so good
Nice video, it's fun to note that some set ups put your own players on the sidelines ready to be pushed off themselves :) Be careful out there on the pitch.
What about the grab skill how does it work with crowd surfing
Grab: "When this player performs a Block action (on its own or as part of a Blitz action), using this Skill prevents the target of the Block action from using the Side Step skill. Additionally, when this player performs a Block Action on its own (but not as part of a Blitz action), if the target is pushed back, this player may choose any unoccupied square adjacent to the target to push that player into. If there are no unoccupied squares, this Skill cannot be used. A player with this Skill cannot also have the Frenzy skill." Since a square off the board isn't an "unoccupied" square you cannot chose to grab them to there. So it doesn't work at all to crowd surf directly. The only way to use it would be to grab someone and put them next to the sideline when normally they wouldn't have gone there, then use someone else to push them out.
Good stuff mate, thanks for posting.
plan also for perfect D. I can cause more problems than most think
Excellent video, love the diagrams and the clear delivery 👍
I love your videos so far. But I'm just a beginner and I could really use your skills in knowing what some of the key terms and tactics are. You mention an "uphill block" in one of your videos, for instance. It seems key but I'm ot sure what the uphill means? Things like tha would make a great video for newbies like me.
Uphill block is when you have a lower strength then the person you're blocking. So you must roll two dice and the opponent gets to choose which dice is used.
Nice SUBSCRIBED
you explain and show things well, Im keen to do something similar, what do you use to do your illustrations. Will you ever pick this channel back up?
10:34 give me a 6ag up check and I got all 4 x"D
extremely heplful!
Great video
Thank you!
Did you lose interest? If you can't respond, I'll just assume you and/or the channel is dead.
Yeah my passions are else where for now. But maybe I'll make more one day. Thanks for watching though!
@Nuffle's Playbook maybe come back once BB3 is fixed. Thanks for the videos. They are a great help.
@@FoulPet Thank is actually a good idea. I'm waiting for it balance out. So maybe I'll come back them. When I make content I want it to be short and to the point. Easy to do with the video game to show off.
Dang it I've been using your videos to help me prep for league and I'm on the last one! This can't be it
Aw thanks! My passions are else where for now. But maybe I'll make more one day. Thanks for watching though!
your example with the dwarfs is good, the reason why i love claws, and i play chaos and skaven haha
Thank you
where is the claw guy 🤣 when you play against my chaos team, everywhere ^^
Thank you
Justina starting to play but this is the Best bloodbowl content I’ve seen so far.
MAKE MOAR VIDS BRAH
Aw thanks man. My passions are else where for now. But maybe I'll make more one day.
Excellent video! I can't wait for the next one
We need more videos!!! 😂
Hey, do you intend to do more content? It's pretty good overall.
Aw thanks. I set out to do 4-5 videos and see how I liked it. I do enjoy it but my schedule changed and don’t have time to play blood bowl weekly any more so my passions have shifted. Maybe one day…
Thanks
Awesome!
Come back Nuffle we need you !
Blocking with Block uphill is a far worse idea then dodging with a 3+! Especially against a big guy! If you fail your dodge, you roll Av . If he manages to knock you down, not only does he push back and knock down you, he could potentially have skills that modify the AV or injury roll. The chance of him kicking your ass is 4 results out of 36, so 12ish percent, but if he does- you might get really hurt. If you have a lineman with Block next to a big guy without block, you should stand there. You have him right where you want him, fighting your least valuable player...
Hey Garath! Thanks for watching. Couple things to address here. 1. I’m using the blood bowl season season (2020) rules. 2. Mighty blow does not work on defense. Only on their activation. So failing a dodge, and failing a block are the same injury change. 3. When you’re blocking you never get pushed. You’d only ever fall down where you are or they push away. 4. A 2 dice against with block is a 31% chance of knocking your self down and 69% chance of pushing them or knocking them down. But a 3+ block has a 33% chance of failing and falling over. So strictly statically speaking 2 dice uphill block with block vs no block is better odds. bloodbowlstrategies.com/en/probabilities/ 5. If you push them you’re controlling where they go and therefor more board control. 6. This is assuming no rerolls and no other skills involved. Hope that helps explain why it’s better! (Although granted only 2% statically)
@@Tylerjstratton Oddly specific about MB working only on the activeturn, but you're correct about MB. This was not the case in previous additions. It still isn't the best idea to block with 2 dice opponent chooses, simply because rolling a 3+ to dodge away gives you more benefits if you succeed. You can reposition your player better, lend an assist or guard space against opposing models. That alone is worth it. And worth the extra risk.
@@garathminis5108 sounds like you got your self a plan! Works great! That being said…dodging away won’t remove the target your dodging from…let alone kill them. Which COULD happen if you block them. :) seems like you got a good grasp on what you want though. Great! Personally I had to be taught this lesson, and recently before I saw it’s benefits.
@@Tylerjstratton I played well over 300 matches since 2002 when I started. I found that from that exact example (S 3-4 with block vs S 5)...anyway a lower S vs a higher S - let us ask ourselves what kind of a player are we talking about ,if he can dodge on a 3+ and has block? He is either a lineman of some kind with a skill upgrade, or a blitzer. If you re using a lineman to tie up a big guy...you could block, but what are you getting? The chance of that big thing going down is low. Very low. If you push back, which is to be expected- you will probably not follow as that kinda defeats the whole purpose of this idea...so the opponent can reposition that thing where its going to cause trouble. On the other hand, using some kind of a blitzer, that perhaps has some other skills - strongly consider that the aim is to reposition that player and keep him alive and on his feet. Removing that big opponent would indeed be to our advantage, but most (fighty) games are won by the team that gains the advantage in numbers. This is best achieved by hitting the weakest players on the opposite team. This makes no difference if you're playing against a team where everyone has the same AV, but most teams don't. So that blitzer should be hitting easy to take out targets . That's the way to win the ball, that's the way to score more CAS and in the end score more TD. So to conclude, if you have a cheap lineman with block that you don't mind loosing, go for the block perhaps. If you're using anything more valuable, protect that value by running away from that tight spot. That block would be the last action of the turn anyway...
@@garathminis5108 yeah dude all excellent points! Stuff id recommend everyone to consider. :) norse linemen is a perfect example of someone you’d like block with rather then dodge with. Good luck on all your games!
Also chain pushing a surrounded player with the ball free is always good cause they committed a lot of players. Especially with high MA players.
Such good advice, wish there was more like this on the channel, only see four videos!
Aw thank you very much BB. I'm not actively playing blood bowl now so my passions have shifted else where. Maybe one day.
@@nufflesplaybook9473 We'll remain subbed in case that day ever comes :)
Thanks
I just started playing blood bowl, only 2 games in my local shops league, half of my skaven team are dead or out of the next games. This game is so hard and I am so demoralized.
I've been playing for over 10 years now and I can tell you that trying learn the game with Ska en is tough. If you want to learn the game orcs or humans are better instead of trying those agility teams from the get go. Get some games in with humans (10 or so) then try skaven. The thing is, yes those agile players are good but not invincible when it comes to dodging and running around. Every dodge is a possible turnover and every time a gutter runner is unprotected, it will get any attempt to get removed thrown at it. Try humans if you fancy ag teams/ball play and learn the basics of turn sequence. Then when you understand risk, how to utilize key players and how to protect them, try skaven again. Also talk with your opponent ask questions why they do certain things and ask for advice. The game is one the best boardgames ever but the learning curve is steap but it's worth the effort! Good luck!
@@svenvannimwegen4936 I lost 6 games in a row, I quit the league I joined because I lost my whole team in 4 games and half my team over the course of the other 2 games. I don’t think blood bowl is for me. Everyone I played against used very bashy teams I didn’t have fun.
@@sunnycaljon5319 no I can understand that. But playing with skaven as beginner is asking for trouble. They're awesome once you get more experienced but it's certainly not a good team to start with. And I don't know how helpful your opponents are with giving tips. But always when I'm playing (on fumbbl) and someone tells me that they are new to the game I try to give them tips and go a bit easier on them. But if you've given up I also understand. Starting all over after a game or two is not very enticing. But if you feel like giving it one more try go for orcs as they have decent ball handling with their blitzers and they tend to live much longer lives then rats.
I tend to embrace the stupid. big time players make big time plays.
A coach after my own heart right here.
9. If the player you're hitting uphill has mighty blow then it might be better to dodge, marginally worse odds for ag3 but at least you don't risk the MB hit when dodging.
MB only applies when the player with the skill is making the block action. Per page 80 of the core rule book. Even on a both down (if the MB player had block and the blocker didn’t). So it doesn’t apply to rule 9.
@@Tylerjstratton you're right for 2020 rules, OP is right for 2016 rules
when a guide to use stuny teams
like goblin or maybe ogres teams
Also for the planning for the blitz kick off event, brace for them using there 1 pass for a bombardier move. What do you do if your scrim line is knocked down
If that's what they use their blitz you should not worry. They're not trying to prevent you from getting the ball. A good coach will mostly ignore the Los and get into a spot where they can pressure the ball. Just stand your guys up at the Los and make sure the ball is safe (and get at least one guy in scoring range)
Amazing video! All your stuff is great. Would love to see more from you
Similar to the Frenzy video can you do one for Grab? Setting up good Black Orc grab chains for instance.
Cool video mate, I learnt something!
Just found this channel doing some research for my Khorne team! Really great video, very clear explanations that make things very easy to understand. Appreciate it a lot!
Hey im a long time ai player in bloodbowl and im finally playing real people, these videos were exactly what i was looking for to get better, they are well thought out, descriptive, and dont waste any time. Just wanted to thank you for your hard work, appreciate it man
Do you have any input on a Khorne starting roster for a league?
Oh heck yeah! We had a minor league before I took my team to the majors. But I started with 4 seekers 3 gors. And 2 rerolls with 4 fan factor. Since you need need need the blood spawn, a reroll and a 4th Gor the fan factor is important. 3 games in for the spawn. 3 more thé reroll. Never replaced the linemen till after the redraft to majors. Running only 11 players was a bummer but didn’t have the cash to fix it till the majors. Now I’m 8/15 games into majors and have all positional and 13 players. But at least 1 usually 2 is MNG. Stayed at 3 rerolls. The seekers are the key to the team with strong blitzes and kills from the blood spawn. It’s. A must to start with 4 seekers. Don’t forget that a Gor can been on the LOS to do a non followed up block. That helps with frenzy traps.
