I have an 4874 long tall case clock. It says Seth Thomas on the front. The label says Westminster Chime Model 150. I can’t find any info.

Beautiful clocks, BUT, SADLY, almost NONE of them these days RETAIN MUCH VALUE. What a shame! At this very moment, I am looking at a clock NOW ON OFFER at a local estate liquidation. [It seems to be the exact model as in this video.] Most likely, it will be gotten for MUCH LESS THAN $100. After the auction, I will post the final sales price. I hope I am surprised and that it sells for several $HUNDRED; however, for the last several years, sales prices, for the SELLERS, have been terrible; for the BUYERS, on the other hand, prices are great.

My grandmother had one. I remember it when I went to visit her for summer vacations. No wonder she had one, my parents must have brought her it. My home town is Belleville, Illinois! Wish I had one. I’ll have to try to find one!

Yes although it is really attractive clock, like another commenter said, its a marriage as the dial would never have been paired with that thirty hour movement which looks like a birdcage movement circa 1725/ 35 Hands are also not original as they are too long for the dial probably from around 1760 The dial however is from 1685/90

I had a service call to repair a clock like that one. I had to take the movement apart to replace a bushing. It was tough, but I got it together, and it ran well.

That is a beautiful clock and I appreciate your info on how to set the time. I just found you on TH-cam and have subscribed, your instructions are very clear and it was a pleasure to watch this video. I will look for one of these clocks this morning.

I read a few of the comments and one in particular stated that the spring wound clock is more reliable and accurate, to that I say, not at all! I have an 1835 Charles Stratton, wood movement clock and it is more accurate than any of my spring wound, brass movement clocks. Why, because a weight keeps the same tension on the movement from top, wound up, to the bottom, unwound. A spring tension, one day or eight-day clock, simply does not. It will run faster when wound and slow down as the mainspring unwinds. My 1835, wooden movement clock, is accurate within 15 seconds a week, imagine that for a 190-year-old movement made out of wood!

This longcase Clock is not anything like 1690 but is late 18th century. also this William Clement has nothing to do with the 17th century William Clement. This is a very inaccurate video.

Looks like a New Haven. I have a similar clock, but no fancy design on the dial - never seen one of these like that or with Ronan numerals.

The replica probably is more reliable and looks very nice. I love the originals but have two and they are a bit finicky sometimes.

I have the identical clock but the winding hole on the face of the clock to the right which direction do I turn that? The one on the left is for the gong and that works fine and I turn it clockwise. My clock stops after 9 to 12 minutes. Driving me crazy I'll have shimmed the cabinet to the right and I have shimmed it to the left because it looking at pendulum it was not swinging much to the right. I raised it and lowered it no difference. I'm at a loss please help anybody. My clock eye is on vacation for the next couple months
