Thank you so much for this - you gave much more explanations onon these issues than I've exptected and I'am really grateful that you take your time to educate people. I would never learn any of this without you, at least not in my reproductive age. However, I stil have a few questions after this conversation - I have much more, but I know I will be in the process for a long time - this few are importatnt for me now, since I'm pregnant (low hemoglobin, of course) and the topic interests me greatly. If you could give me some clarifications or links to places where I can get closer to answers, I would be grateful. 1) Do you see any reasons why it is important for hemoglobin to return to 10/11/12 before delivery? You said it is not the key for haemorrhage prevention, I get it, but still - hemoglobin carries oxygen, isn't it important for baby in the womb (or mother) or for saturation of the baby and mother, and uterine work, during birth? 2) I did not read even half of articles and resources on RCP website and I am not sure if I understood well the topic of Hemosiderin- in case of anemia from copper deficiency/inflammation we are not supposed to take in more iron, I mean, from food sources? In other words - if the iron in liver get stuck, then maybe is a need for a little bit more from outside? Or our body can break it down from Hemosiderin or some other „place”?

ALL urges are in our DNA. That includes everyone's political beliefs. To steal. To not want to be stolen from. To rape, to have sex with someone whether they want to or not. To not want to be raped, to not want to be forced to have sex. To believe in animal rights: to stop wanting animals in factory farms to suffer. To procreate. To be antinatalist in order to prevent suffering. To lie in order to gain an advantage. To tell the truth in order to gain an advantage. It is illogical to cherrypick only ONE urge/desire and proclaim THAT as the ONLY thing our DNA causes. Everything differs in magnitude, not in kind. The difference between right and wrong is how much. Only MATHEMATICS can quantify competing forces. Only mathematics & reductionistic thinking is the logically consistent way to think.

It's unethical towards the child. You're creating someone without their consent into a pretty bad world. People dismiss the "I didn't ask to be born" as teenage angst but it's true. None of us did and many suffer horribly as a consequence of being created. Many would, were it possible, pass on being created. What makes it even worse is that once you exist you can't simply opt out in a painless, safe and reasonable manner. Assisted suicide is reserved mostly for people with terminal illnesses and in a few countries unbearable physical and mental conditions as well. This is an option that we should all be entitled to but even if we were it would still not make procreation ethically permissable.

'You want', 'you deserve it' - it's everything about you, isn't it? Go ahead and do everything you want as long it's consensual. Procreation can never be consensual! It's a tyrannicall thing to throw a creature programmed to seek meaning into a meaningless world!

Reproducing is extremely cruel and selfish. It’s also in our DNA to murder and r*pe but we are opposed to that for ethical reasons. How could you have so little empathy. It is the biggest insult to bring what you would call the most precious person to you (person, not just baby), into such a horrendous world. Do you have any idea what goes on every second on this planet. You are willingly subjecting your child to every possible harm! That is the worst crime. Absolutely disgusting.

Giving birth imposes guaranteed disease and death on another sentient form for sure. That is certain. It also places them at risk for far worse torments and exploitation at the hands of others and at the hands of nature. The idea is to bypass biological wiring. Not to go along with it. The birth process is a type of factual evil for the above reasons and many more. Its also totally unnecessary. Also, you say it is a sacrifice for yourself as well on top of all the above. So its an imposition of torment on yourself as well as onto another being. You should not feel guilty about the biological urge of it, you just shouldn't actually do it, no matter what urges are there. An alcoholic had the urge to drink alcohol. But they should not keep drinking it. A smoker had the urge to keep smoking. Should they feel guilty for the urge itself, no. Should they just stop doing it, yes. Same with having kids. If one already has kids, they should just stop and not bring any more new ones here. No one should.

  • @antinatalistcougar

"All animals are here to further their species" is your fundamental misunderstanding. You anthropomorphize DNA replication. There is no intent in reproduction, it is a godless, mechanical process, mainly of elimination.

@@bbunderson gotcha! Fish has nutrients like zinc and selenium that provide more benefits than something like nuts IMO. Most vitamin e has been degraded from foods like nuts and seeds given the processing and storage and length of time they sit on shelves. All PUFAs oxidize in the stomach in some way shape or form unfortunately...it's just a matter of how much. Whether or not you want to consume concerrafed sources is up to you. The way I see it, they're in everything - even steak and eggs. It's just a matter of minimizing those unnecessary concentrated sources like fish oil, vegetable oil, nuts, seeds, etc. I still eat plenty of seafood! And if I liked nuts more, I'd probably have them once (good source and properly prepared) in a while too and not worry about it too much. Hope that helps! :)

Hello! Thank god I discovered you! I am also a NTP (woo!) but am feeling totally lost when it comes to supplements. I am entering my 3 month preconception time (already made 1 kid and hoping for one more). I even focused on preconception health in school, made a podcast, blah blah blah. I reached a point this spring where I didn’t want to take any supplements at all. I was just over it. But I am stuck between a rock and a hard place... to supplement or not to supplement? And wtf should I supplement?! I hear that you have a preconception corse coming out- congratulations! While that is such a beautiful thing to offer people, I think I would need just a guide to supplementation for preconception/pregnancy/postpartum, rather than an in-depth course on all the things. Advice? Thank you! I don’t have social media (purged it along with the supplements), so if I could ask a question for you to include in these videos: . Pregnancy is a time of heightened vigilance about supplementation, what is your view on high quality prenatals? I took seeking health brand.
